They were younger here than i am now ! Im 44. Remember the original singer in Deep Purple Rod Evans ? He had a great voice. Rod hasnt been heard of in public since about 1980, i have just made something about him on here if anyone wants to see it ? Its in my recent uploads from August 2019, or just type in search bar above.....Where is Rod Evans

4:47 Very impressive how Ian is actually defending Ritchie Blackmore here... so... strange because they hate each other but it seems that Ian was kinda annoyed by that question

They're a wonderful band, yep ! Would love to see Jon and Ritchie together again, even with classical music. -They could form a great little acoustic duo there. Some years ago there was this thing that became known around the net as Jon Lord's Dream, something about him once mentioning getting everyone together for a one night concert with all DP family members on the same stage. At the Albert Hall, presumably. ;) So far still a dream only.

I saw them on that perfect strangers world tour in NZ .Richie had a hissy fit and didn't come back on stage for smoke on the water .I lost some of my hearing that night.

It's almost too easy today yes, having known both worlds now it seemed more fun back then where today's easier access makes everything a little bit less fun also since it's all about constant info and no real search necessary anymore. Thus no real anticipation experienced either. I think it shows in many later/current artists' songwriting too, somehow it's very lazy when growing up in today's world of cell phones and complacency. Makes a lot of modern rock music less interesting unfortunately.

I remember the reunion as if it happend yesterday!! It was a great time for the band, and for me personally. We didn''t have the internet or anything else described as "smart" back then, so I learned about the reunion from rumours. We didn't have any "RUclips-ish" info channels at the time. I got to know about the reunion from a friend of mine who had overheard a conversation in a musicstore between a musician, who heard it while he was in the US, and an employee at the store.

Ironically, that Dave Coverdale which was made a smash hit comeback in 80's. Purple stuck in their old style hard rock and did'nt make any progress.

Ironically, Coverdals re-recorded ad releases stuff from is Purple days this year while Deep Purple with Gillan will have another new album shortly.
Who didn't make any progress, you say ?

Anyway, reclaimerReclaimer, it's good to see them again as they were back in '84, before cell phones and the internet:-) What a great band! They had their dodgy moments during the 80s because of "smokin', drinkin' and messin' 'round with women", but all in all.... Great band! And what's even better, they still are:-)

The reunion year(s) was a fantastic time! The Perfect Strangers album came out really great (one of my favourite DP albums), and it seemed like the band had a lot of fun during the first year and a half. We didn't have internet at the time(!), so I soacked up all the news and rumours via magazines and.....well, rumours among the fans:-) Those were actually good times. I really enjoy todays "easy world", but when I grew up you had to work for what you knew. It's sort of too easy today....

Where is Ritchie? Ian always knows. Ritchie refuses to do endorsements whenever he can. Ian will speak on Ritchie's behalf most of the time on camera, something they keep almost always completely hidden from everyone at times, even their own kind, as in other true artists/gods and yes, even Satan at times, due to the powers that be.
