Another great video from the waters edge TV, all your videos are of great quality and clear narration, and a pleasure to watch Looking forward to all future episodes, well done and thank you for your time in putting these videos on here for me to watch.
Tench is defo becoming the Catch of choice in my Angling. However, wouldn't be disappointed with a slimy slab as big as them!!! Great vid, basic no nonsense fishing with great results!!! Cheers fella's
Great video. My favourite trench venue has recently re opened after having a problem with the roach. Now looking forward to a couple of early morning trench sessions over the summer. My beast is just under 7lb..As for bream, I don't know what there eating these days but they are fighting harder than ever. My daughter caught her first bream recently and it caught like a carp. All caught on camera and on my channel. ATB Steve
Thanks for the kind comments Steve and for taking the time to post them.Good luck with your Tench fishing, hope you manage a few! Tight lines, cheers Chris.
Thanks for the kind comments Auris, glad you enjoyed the video. :-) I think they are Solar Tackle custom one's - as in Steve's purchased all the bits individually and made them up himself. Hope that helps.
Great video again lads I agree tench can be one of the hardest species to net lol I usually take around 7 different baits some bright like fleuro Dumbbells dead reds corn red and yellow and worms died different colours I love tench fishing on pole, float or ledgering all great ways any way enough of my ramblings lol great videos packed with great tips again tight lines mate
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment. We do love Tench fishing too, they are such a nice fish to catch! I know what you mean about the baits too, we always end up taking loads too!!!
Hi guys, watched pretty much all your fishing vids and have to say I love them, love the way you put them across and the simple mellow informative way they are put together.can I ask, Steve, re you moving over to specimen fishing away from the match side of things?
Thanks for the kind comments mate, glad you're enjoying the videos and channel. No Steve isn't, he will do a bit of everything (our last three coarse fishing video's have all been match based) we like to mix things up when we can and try to vary the content. Tight lines, cheers Chris.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! They certainly aren't, sometimes they can be difficult and moody! Somehow bubbling away in your swim but not picking up your hook bait! Haha.
To me it feels like Tench put up more of a fight than Carp for the same size fish. 3-5lb Common can be a bit enthusiastic but a Tench the same size seems to pull significantly harder. I only fish with a Daiwa 10' yank n bank mini method so definitely feels a bit more epic playing a Tench.
Thanks Neil, glad you enjoyed it! We do love Tench too! Probably a little late for them now, but will defo be back out after them again next spring! :-)
Great video and insperation to go Tench fishing. I love the rig you were using, I will try and use that next time I go fishing. What In line method feeder were you using please, as it looks just what i'm after. Thanks in advance.
Just found your channel and working my way through your videos (and greatly enjoying them). Good tench (and bream) fishing there, but shame about the condition of some of the tench (especially the mouths). What sort of measures do these syndicates take to ensure minimal damage to the fish?
Hi Jonathan, glad you are enjoying the video's and thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm not too sure to be honest, it is a shame about the mouths though, I wonder if it's perhaps a mixture of heavy tackle and weed.
Being up in Scotland the coarse fishing is far poorer than back south (from Derby originally) but with fewer people targeting them they don't tend to get the same pressure. Do love tench, but hard to find specimen tench here.
Haha, we don't mind them really Paul! :-) Fish for them a fair bit to be honest, great fun on our local river Yare too. Yeah using the fake baits takes a bit of getting used too, but if the Tench are feeding and 'having it' as such it's a good tip. Thanks for the kind comments though, keep up the great work with your channel too, hope your fishing is going well. Cheers Chris.
Happy days! there back :) bring on more of them ridiculous bream!!! Haha I've never seen a bream shoot off like that when releasing it back! good stuff lads. I'm well Stoked about the tench campaign... amazing fish!
Cheers Anthony, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment. Haha, I know what you mean about the Bream, they were pretty "super charged"! Haha! Fingers crossed we should have another video coming soon.
Thanks mate... yeah unfortunately they weren't the best looking Tench in the world. Glad you enjoyed the video though and thanks for taking the time to comment. :-)
That last bream is a good example of why they call them coarse fish. During breeding season the fish get small white 'pimples' on their head (you can see it at 14:08 ) creating a coarse texture which is where they get the name. Just an interesting fact
There's a good reason that throwing food balls in the water is not allowed in freshwater in most countries. It ruins the ecology of the water (makes it greener).
Hi Jason, I know this is obvious but to catch bigger tench fish waters that are known to have big fish. If 3lb is as big as the tench get in Dagenham waters you've done very well. By the way, raking up the bottom close in is a proven method of attracting tench. Tight lines mate.
Hi Mike, it is the Shimano Baitrunner DL FA I believe - I'm not sure if they are still available or not. If you click the tackle box link in our video description you will see a list of everything we use. The ST RB (from Shimano) is the one we'd choose if not. Hope that helps. Cheers Chris.
Yeah I've seen the DL going for decent prices from a few other retailers, angling direct don't seem to stock them for some reason. Better reel than the ST for not a lot more money!
Hi Mike, I've amended the link now as the DL does appear to be online! :-) You are right with what you say though, there a little bit smoother all-round than the ST RB! Cheers Chris.
G'day Unfortunately these horrible finished up in Tasmania , Australia...What a waste of time...Typical idiot poms...The only decent fish from the UK is trout..and they are awesome in our waters..
Hahahahahaha! 'typical idiot poms' love it! What fish were you talking about? The Bream or the Tench or both! Knowing the fish you have in Australia I don't think I'd even bother with Trout, I'd be in the estuaries and on the beaches! :-)
All the bite alarm does is to alert you when you have a bite, it's not cheating, just helps you out on long sessions when fishing for bigger fish. The fisherman and skills you talk about come within the bait, rig and actually where to cast the bait. If you use the wrong, rig, bait or cast in the wrong place, the bite alarm won't help you catch fish?
Used to fish a small river for them with slugs. hard to fish for but fun. Nice video.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it :-)

Another great video guys- looks like a great water! Cheers, Ollie.
Thanks for the kind comments Ollie, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment.
tench will always be the king of fish for me they are far more attractive than carp I call them the teddy bears as there eyes are like teddy bears

Excellent stuff Matt! No worries at all and thank you for the kind comments. Hope your first Tench is one of many to come! :-)

We love Tench too! :-D
Sitting here pike fishing (blanking) can’t wait for the tench fishing, top viewing lads 👍🏼🎣🎣
I know what you mean - not to wish time away, but it won't be long now. :-)
Tench is defo becoming the Catch of choice in my Angling. However, wouldn't be disappointed with a slimy slab as big as them!!! Great vid, basic no nonsense fishing with great results!!! Cheers fella's

Awesome buddy awesome 😎..cheers Chris & Sam
Thanks mate! 😊
So glad I found your channel. Such good stuff!
Thanks for the kind comments Will! Glad you found us and that you are enjoying the video's! :-) Cheers Chris.
Pleasure to watch your videos mate! Just curious which bite indicators you are using in this video? Thanks
Thanks for the kind comments Auris, glad you enjoyed the video. :-) I think they are Solar Tackle custom one's - as in Steve's purchased all the bits individually and made them up himself. Hope that helps.

Hope you managed a few Tench Clayton! :-)

Another Grate video
Thanks mate!
Nice video
Tench arent the easiest fish to catch and they put up a good fight
My biggest is about 3-4 lb I think
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! They certainly aren't, sometimes they can be difficult and moody! Somehow bubbling away in your swim but not picking up your hook bait! Haha.
we catch 5-6 pounders
@@bikingis4me48 wow !!! 😂
Tench do fight well mate! They're such a nice fish to catch, especially in the spring and early summer. :-)
Forgot to ask, you ever get round to fisihing the bigger lakes and making a part 2? :)
We have a few clips, but we haven't done anything with them yet. Hopefully we'll have something to show off soon-is tho. :-)
Those bream were fabulous. Don't knock them when they look like that
We love a nice Bream! 😊🎣
Gorgeous Norfolk, mind I wish all pools fished like that ! Bravo mate.
Thanks Paul. :-)
Cracking video lads love tench , only caught 1 so far mind it was 8lb just and black ,
Thanks Neil, glad you enjoyed it! We do love Tench too! Probably a little late for them now, but will defo be back out after them again next spring! :-)
Great video and insperation to go Tench fishing.
I love the rig you were using, I will try and use that next time I go fishing.

Great video as always 👍🏻
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment.
poor bream, is it only me who likes snotty bin lids? nice video, the tip about fake maggots warding off the roach is something i will try, thanks
Had a few bin lids last weekend
Haha, we don't mind them really Paul! :-) Fish for them a fair bit to be honest, great fun on our local river Yare too. i love catching a good old slab! haha! love catching big bream on the broads!
I like bream !
I like bream !

nice one again guys :)
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Ur awesome bro keep up the vids
Cheers mate, glad you're enjoying the videos and thanks for the kind comments! :-D
Good video there guys. Nasty mouth damage on two of the tench if I'm not mistaken. Poor things... too much angling pressure.
Thanks mate... yeah unfortunately they weren't the best looking Tench in the world. Glad you enjoyed the video though and thanks for taking the time to comment. :-)
Hi wot maggot feders you use as not seen them magotmethords
Hi Stven, we were just using normal maggot feeders, but if you're looking for a maggot method feeder, check out the Korum Grub Feeders. 😊
Love Tench, in fact I'm going Tenching after watching this!
Thanks Tom, glad you enjoyed it! Fingers crossed for you on your Tench fishing too!!!
What lakes are these?
Bawburgh Lakes, Norfolk.
Nice vid!
Cheers George!
I catch tons of tench in Australia and can you do some roach fishing
Am sure we can sort something out! :-)
Hi Steve will you be doing another Tench video soon?
Love the videos, keep them coming.
Hi mate, we will indeed, we should hopefully be doing a few this year! :-) Glad you're enjoying the video's and thanks for the kind comments.
That last bream is a good example of why they call them coarse fish. During breeding season the fish get small white 'pimples' on their head (you can see it at 14:08 ) creating a coarse texture which is where they get the name. Just an interesting fact
I think they're referred to as spawning tubercles Louie.
Great video lads 👍🏻
Cheers Rhys, glad you enjoyed it!
which one of the lakes at Bawburgh is this ,thanks
One of the small lakes, Seamons I think.
thanks so have you Baught the small lake membership?, as this is what i may do to get some tench .
We have the full lakes ticket, but decided to start off on the small lakes.
ok thanks , do you know what types of fish are in the lakes and the sizes 😅
Check out the website mate, type it in on Google and you'll find all the info there. :-)
Harika bir video. Thanks!..
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Great video lads!
Cheers Tom! :-)
There's a good reason that throwing food balls in the water is not allowed in freshwater in most countries. It ruins the ecology of the water (makes it greener).
Really, I've never heard of that before. Groundbait is used lots here in the UK!
try Howell wood pond full of carp and a few tench carp up to 30lb plus
great video never seem to disappoint
Thanks for the kind comments Aiden, glad you enjoyed the video! :-)
So what happened to part 2 ?
We didn't get round to filming it Martin, it's something we might try to do this year though!
From The Waters Edge TV , excellent enjoyed this one as I have just sent my application for the small lakes it would be my first year on the complex.
My PB tench is 3lb in Dagenham waters, what is the best way to catch more tench and bigger ones
Nice one Jason! We'd probably fish for them in the same way we did in this video.
Hi Jason, I know this is obvious but to catch bigger tench fish waters that are known to have big fish. If 3lb is as big as the tench get in Dagenham waters you've done very well. By the way, raking up the bottom close in is a proven method of attracting tench. Tight lines mate.
What are your PB Tench
Mine is 8lb 7oz, not sure about Steve's though.
great vid guys...
Cheers Erwin! :-)
where is part 2?
We haven't filmed it yet Mike, didn't have a chance last year... fingers crossed there should be a few more parts to come this year though! :-)
Which model of shimano baitrunner is that your using there guys? Looking for a couple of new ones for my specemin tench/bream fishing at the moment!

I like bream too my pb is 8lb from our local river
Pound for pound better fighter than a carp
We do love Tench James!
so sad to see those Tench with damaged mouths. Surely the owners need to take responsibility and implement rules to avoid this. Breaks my heart.
It is a shame, often caused by inexperienced anglers.
Great vid
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
2
I got a 5 pound tench today my dad took 3 pictures then they magically disappeared
Nice one Tom!
G'day Unfortunately these horrible finished up in Tasmania , Australia...What a waste of time...Typical idiot poms...The only decent fish from the UK is trout..and they are awesome in our waters..

I got 300th like
Nice one mate and thank you!
They have some ugly fish in that water he's fishing.
Unfortunately some did have some damage!
all the teckno takes away any skill, when it comes to fishing....bite alarms etc....pathetic....be a fisherman and learn the skills.....!
