You're a lifesaver! I managed to get the DJI OM3 a few weeks ago and was instantly disheartened by not being able to film at 24fps. (and finding out after an hour of test footage that the Galaxy S10 defaults to 60fps, a huge problem for my computer/Resolve). Well, that and not having access to all of the controls that I'm used to...it really looks like Filmic Pro is what I need. And you already have more videos on it. Seriously, thank you so much.

I've just downloaded Filmic Pro for my Android phone, and didn't realise you can hold-press the exposure and focus reticles to bring up the side wheels. That little tip makes life so much easier. Many thanks!

You are very welcome. It is very detailed app however the new pro video on Android can do great job too. It should work the same regardless if it is S10 or S10plus 😊🎬📸🎥
This is a tip for those of us with phones with limited internal space. With Filmic pro you can also go to Settings/CMS and change the storage from Internal to External only if you are using Android and have a micro SD card in your phone. If you do this, the videos are saved into the Android system folder on the SD card, (making it difficult to find them) so I'd recommend that you click on the play button, the video you want to export, then hit the FP folder icon and move the clip/s to somewhere else on your SD card. Don't just hit the export to camera roll icon, as this will just copy the clip to your internal memory which defeats the object of recording to the SD card in the first place. Hope that's useful to you....:-)

I am using the same equipment. I bought Filmic Pro for my Samsung S10 + and I have to say that it has been worse than useless. The app is usually frozen on start up or freezes very quickly. I contacted Filmic, they told me to restart it, then take all the apps off my 'phone and then start again etc. I asked them for a refund but so far no response. It is a pity because a lot of the material I have filmed this winter has very bright sunshine which has meant what I filmed in shade has been very dark.
Hm.... I am sorry to hear that. I do have the same phone as you but had absolutely no issues... I wonder if you perhaps have another app installed which is simply clashing with this one... just thinking... 📱📹📽📷
@@ZdenkaDarula That is what Filmora said - but taking all the apps off and then reinstalling them is not really an option. That would take a really long time. I think Filmora should suggest what the conflict might be with. Nonetheless, I will remove the other camera apps and see if that helps!
Great video as always! I use a p30 pro and was told never to shoot at 24 FPS as because it wasnt supported natively by my phone I would get juddery footage. Now I see it can be done, thank you so much!

Thanks Zdenka for your amazing work. 24fps with 1/48 shutter speed may be the "tool" for cinematic look but only for static scenes. What about fast movements like following a character move around the house? The stutter/jidder is quite obvious. What do they do on movies? They change the fps? I use an iphone 13 pro+ filmic pro+ Djiom4. Any advise on that kind of scenes with movement and panning?

Do you think the cinematographer kit is worth the price? I have my doubts about how useful shooting LOG is with certain phones (S20 ultra in my case). What about live Shadow and highlight controls? Could you do a video or just comment on their effectiveness?
Super video jako obvykle! Mám otázku ohledně Filmic PRO a micro SSD karet. Při Bitrate "Filmic Extreme" je uváděn zápis až 120 mbps. (FiLMiC Quality 75 mbps). Takže k otázkce: Jakou MicroSSD kartu používáš? Já právě přemýšlím o nějaké větší (512GB), protože menší neni dostačující ale u těch vetších je zápis kolem 90-100 mbps (reálnej tak 80-85mbps). Znamená to že při bitrate "Filmic Extreme" to s touto kartou nepujde a max funkční bitrate bude "Filmic Quality"? nebo? ahahah jsem celkem confused z toho:( Popřípadě nejaké doporučení na micro SSD? (pro samsung s20)
Just like any camera the lower light the less quality... it is the same for all.. you can adjust it but don't expect the same as you would get in bright day. 📷📽📱📹😊

Hey Zdenka, can you use external mic with filmic pro and use record button on osmo mobile 3? When I press record button on the gimbal my volume control turn on. But when I try the same thing on Open Camera I can use record button on gimbal itself. I am using Huawei P20
Thanks for sharing, I am using Filmic Pro, Slow Motion shots very successful, 1080 - 24fps shots under low light seems a little bit blurry. In general... I love to use Filmic for 24fps shots with the phone.

When i am using Osmo mobile 3 with iphone using filmic pro. What settings is required in osmo mobile 3. What settings will be required in filmic pro for better stabilisation.
Smartphone cameras have been developing leaps and bounds thereby, almost stagnating and freezing sales of DSLR as well as Mirrorless cameras. I guess in the near future both DSLR and Mirrorless cameras have to make some innovative strategies in order to hold its depleted market share - may be they can add a calling and Internet browsing feature to make it viable and compete with the smartphones :) On a serious note, this video was again awesome. Do keep them coming and best regards
Shandy Brandy when they can get above a one inch sensor (meaning the phone would be huge) and allow you to personalise your vid/photography (those cheap lenses for mobiles you see sold on Amazon are trash) plus your battery won’t last long if you demand to much from it. I believe mirrorless and DLSR will sit along side mobiles. Both are for different things
@@CashelOConnolly Absolutely agree that DSLR and mirrorless cameras are any day better when compared to smartphones due to the larger size sensor. On an average mrrorless cameras are comparatively slimmer than DSLRs. And yes, most of the lens for mobile phones sold in Amazon are not good. However, in the last five years the cameras of mobile phones have significantly improved and with such pace of development I am pretty-much optimistic that technocrats will come up with larger sensors in smartphones yet retaining their handy size. Of late, I prefer smartphone setup especially while travelling since it occupies very less space.
All I will say... I fully agree. The fact I do this full time 15 years and now seeing enormous changes... that is why I do more and more tutorials kn photo and video with mobile phones says a lot... it is heading that way... whether we want it or not.... 📷📱📹📽
@@ZdenkaDarula There are so many questions on photography and videography which I want to ask but don't know with which to begin:) Currently I am travelling and have my smartphone, portable telescopic tripod, Osmo-3 gimbal, ND filter, mic, etc. I use the Mimo App and just wanted to know if there is a way to lock the exposure? I have a third party App called Open Camera installed in my smartphone. Open Camera is an extremely small App that does not drain the memory, yet has most of the bells and whistles which is far better than my phone's native camera. However, while using the App in Osmo-3, the work-flow gets slightly disrupted as one has to manually or physically control it directly on the phone's screen as it does not responds to the joy-stick, and 'm', trigger buttons, etc of the gimbal. Great tutorial. Love Filmic Pro but waiting for Osmo Mobile 3 support, expected it a lot sooner considering the previous Osmo Mobile is supported. Auto exposure not working in Filmic Pro on my Galaxy Note 9 either. If it worked properly and supported Osmo Mobile 3 it might be worth the high price.
Zdenka I'm hoping you can help me. I've been using the Flimic Pro app recently on my iPhone 12 Pro Max to better understand how to use the various setting. Today, as I'm actually filming using the app, I started to experience a lag or delay in the image/video whenever I move my phone to the left or right. Never experienced this before and wondering if you encountered this. If so, I'm hoping you might know of a fix you can share. Any advice or help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
It is an easy fix. Go to settings and shoes standard stabilization. Under summarization is most likely selected cinematic which creates latency. It is because the software has to work harder to stabilize the video for you
If you tap AWB until its orange, wb is locked when you press record. This way your wb will always lock when you press record and you never have to remember to press it for red. Also, locking brightness and AWB gets rid of those annoying colour and brightness shifts

Thanks Zdenka for your amazing work. 24fps with 1/48 shutter speed may be the "tool" for cinematic look but only for static scenes. What about fast movements like following a character move around the house? The stutter/jidder is quite obvious. What do they do on movies? They change the fps? I use an iphone 13 pro+ filmic pro+ Djiom4. Any advise on that kind of scenes with movement and panning?
It is really up to your preference what you like…. No rules there

Do you think the cinematographer kit is worth the price? I have my doubts about how useful shooting LOG is with certain phones (S20 ultra in my case). What about live Shadow and highlight controls? Could you do a video or just comment on their effectiveness?

Super video jako obvykle! Mám otázku ohledně Filmic PRO a micro SSD karet. Při Bitrate "Filmic Extreme" je uváděn zápis až 120 mbps. (FiLMiC Quality 75 mbps). Takže k otázkce: Jakou MicroSSD kartu používáš? Já právě přemýšlím o nějaké větší (512GB), protože menší neni dostačující ale u těch vetších je zápis kolem 90-100 mbps (reálnej tak 80-85mbps). Znamená to že při bitrate "Filmic Extreme" to s touto kartou nepujde a max funkční bitrate bude "Filmic Quality"? nebo? ahahah jsem celkem confused z toho:( Popřípadě nejaké doporučení na micro SSD? (pro samsung s20)

Just like any camera the lower light the less quality... it is the same for all.. you can adjust it but don't expect the same as you would get in bright day. 📷📽📱📹😊

Hey Zdenka, can you use external mic with filmic pro and use record button on osmo mobile 3? When I press record button on the gimbal my volume control turn on.
But when I try the same thing on Open Camera I can use record button on gimbal itself. I am using Huawei P20
I have to test if first to be sure.... Huawei p20 is very different from S10plus I have... I hear that lots from people 📱📷📹📽

Thanks for sharing, I am using Filmic Pro, Slow Motion shots very successful, 1080 - 24fps shots under low light seems a little bit blurry. In general... I love to use Filmic for 24fps shots with the phone.

Question, if you will film a B-roll in 60fps or 120fps, do you export it in 24fps after the editing to have that cinematic look?
What are your thoughts also in shooting and exporting in 30fps?
24fps is absolutely better as you get that tiny natural blur and it doesn’t look like smartphone video. 😊🎥🎬📸

When i am using Osmo mobile 3 with iphone using filmic pro. What settings is required in osmo mobile 3. What settings will be required in filmic pro for better stabilisation.

Smartphone cameras have been developing leaps and bounds thereby, almost stagnating and freezing sales of DSLR as well as Mirrorless cameras. I guess in the near future both DSLR and Mirrorless cameras have to make some innovative strategies in order to hold its depleted market share - may be they can add a calling and Internet browsing feature to make it viable and compete with the smartphones :) On a serious note, this video was again awesome. Shandy Brandy when they can get above a one inch sensor (meaning the phone would be huge) and allow you to personalise your vid/photography (those cheap lenses for mobiles you see sold on Amazon are trash) plus your battery won’t last long if you demand to much from it. I believe mirrorless and DLSR will sit along side mobiles. Both are for different things
@@CashelOConnolly Absolutely agree that DSLR and mirrorless cameras are any day better when compared to smartphones due to the larger size sensor. On an average mrrorless cameras are comparatively slimmer than DSLRs. And yes, most of the lens for mobile phones sold in Amazon are not good. However, in the last five years the cameras of mobile phones have significantly improved and with such pace of development I am pretty-much optimistic that technocrats will come up with larger sensors in smartphones yet retaining their handy size. Of late, I prefer smartphone setup especially while travelling since it occupies very less space.
All I will say... I fully agree. The fact I do this full time 15 years and now seeing enormous changes... that is why I do more and more tutorials kn photo and video with mobile phones says a lot... it is heading that way... whether we want it or not.... 📷📱📹📽

@@ZdenkaDarula There are so many questions on photography and videography which I want to ask but don't know with which to begin:) Currently I am travelling and have my smartphone, portable telescopic tripod, Osmo-3 gimbal, ND filter, mic, etc. I use the Mimo App and just wanted to know if there is a way to lock the exposure? I have a third party App called Open Camera installed in my smartphone. Open Camera is an extremely small App that does not drain the memory, yet has most of the bells and whistles which is far better than my phone's native camera. However, while using the App in Osmo-3, the work-flow gets slightly disrupted as one has to manually or physically control it directly on the phone's screen as it does not responds to the joy-stick, and 'm', trigger buttons, etc of the gimbal. Great tutorial. Love Filmic Pro but waiting for Osmo Mobile 3 support, expected it a lot sooner considering the previous Osmo Mobile is supported. Auto exposure not working in Filmic Pro on my Galaxy Note 9 either. If it worked properly and supported Osmo Mobile 3 it might be worth the high price.
I think if won't be compatible for a while.... so far DJI is way too buggy unfortunately 📽📹📷📱🌞
Zdenka I'm hoping you can help me. I've been using the Flimic Pro app recently on my iPhone 12 Pro Max to better understand how to use the various setting. Today, as I'm actually filming using the app, I started to experience a lag or delay in the image/video whenever I move my phone to the left or right. Never experienced this before and wondering if you encountered this. If so, I'm hoping you might know of a fix you can share. Any advice or help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
It is an easy fix. Go to settings and shoes standard stabilization. Under summarization is most likely selected cinematic which creates latency. It is because the software has to work harder to stabilize the video for you

If you tap AWB until its orange, wb is locked when you press record. This way your wb will always lock when you press record and you never have to remember to press it for red. Also, locking brightness and AWB gets rid of those annoying colour and brightness shifts
