Omg when I tell you I have wasted/ruined countless water decals trying to get them off the backing sheet without them wrinkling or damaging apart! I stamp all the time and NEVER thought to use my jelly stamper to pick them up off the paper! Game changer! I need to try!!
The stamping trick is genius. I have zillions of water transfers (including the exact floral ones you're using) and always struggle with placement. Thanks!

I bought the same nail decals that have the Halloween design from wish. I tried so many ways to use them but it never worked right. Thank you for making this video bc now I can actually do them now.
is it necessary to apply the decal over a tacky layer of gel polish? wondering if I could wipe off the inhibition layer or sandwich it between no wipe top coat, thank you in advance! (:
Gosh I'm so sorry that I didn't see this comment when you posted it a whole year ago! Probably a bit too late, but for anyone else wondering... You can wipe the tacky layer of the polish you're applying it to. Either way will be fine :) sorry again xx
Do you think the jelly stamp method would work better for putting them onto natural fresh painted nails? I find them so fiddly to place especially looking at my own nails upside down wondering if this would help. Thanks
If im doing dip nails what liquid do i pot on top of the decal? Im new at this but i did buy some decals for fall. Im not sure what a "rubber" coat is. Thanks
I don't have a lot of experience with dip nails. My experience with them is that gel polish didn't like to stay stuck to it so I would cover the water decals with regular nail varnish topcoat. Rubber top coat is just a thicker rubber like gel topcoat.
Is it possible to do with with regular nail (or airdry gel) polish instead of UV treated polish? The smell unfortunately is too much for me to use UV nail polish.
Hello! I have a question about water decals. I've been storing all my decals in a business card holder. I know each sheet has a protective piece of plastic on the front, but on some of my water decals this protective sheet has fallen off. When I tried to remove the water decal sheet - the decals were stuck to the plastic in the business card holder. How do I prevent this? Once the protective sheet falls off the water decal paper - it's not possible to reattach it.
Oh yes ofcourse! You could even apply them to your naked nails if you put a base coat(gel or polish) on first. Don't be intimidated, they're a lot easier than you're imagining 😘
I just tried some baby yoda decals but as soon as I put the top coat on it disintegrated. Was it because I didn’t dry it before applying it to the nail?
Hiya, it can have the tacky layer from the cured gel polish but you may find it easier if you wipe the nail with alcohol first so that it's dry. Either way is fine ☺️
I'm just wishing that my plastic sheeting would come off like yours did. I can't get it off and when I cut out my flower and put it in water it does nothing. Paper doesn't come off from back and with that, I first tried to peel off like a sticker and it wouldn't, so I know that what I have is not a sticker but why can't I get it to work like yours? Same designs on paper as you show in this video. HELP!
Thats weird, the plastic should come away very easily. Without seeing it I can't really say why it's happening. It could just be that they are ruined but I don't know why that would happen.
It shouldn't smear your design even if you go over it straight away. Some decals are if poor quality and will do that though. Or if you are using a regular varnish topcoat, that can happen. Or a matte gel topcoat sometimes will do that depending on the brand. If you're using a gel topcoat and it's smearing, try a different kind of decal, or try going over with a gel basecoat and cure it before topcoating ☺️
I just got decals like these and hadn't a clue how to use to them, so I applied them like temporary tattoos, worked too. But they have to be double sided as the back of the decal is what will show.
It could be that there are traces of water under the decals. Really make sure they're dry. If that doesn't help you can place them onto wet base coat , and cure them once in position xo
Oh man thats annoying. You might just need to soak them longer , or they might just be duds 😐 they are very delicate. Have you tried using a jelly stamper to pick them up?
Thank you! My biggest supporter bought me a lot of stickers recently and I used them yesterday and didn't realize they were water decals... honey the mess I made🤣🤣🤣🤣 I know now to use on a tacky layer then cover with a base coat. I used a matte top coat then tried to apply, thinking they were regular sticky stickers lol they came up 30 minutes later🤣🤣🤣
Lololol I too have mistaken them for stickers hahhahah. I'm glad you've got it now. I prefer stickers now actually. These are a bit of a faff during service.
I don't recommend taking the plastic off permanently because designs will stick to the backs of other nail decals and potentially ruin designs. Put it back on when you're done or peel it off after cutting out the decal

Hi :) I think it is too shallow for monomer. It's really light and made of plastic. I probably got it off ebay. Search for gem triangle tray. :)

What base color nail polish do you use if you want the colors of the water decals to be more vibrant ?

How you orders the funky water decals
You can find loads on ebay or amazon, or just Google "nail water decals" xx

Does the rubber base stop you feeling the edges of the plastic through the top coat?
Yes :) If any remain after applying the base coat, buff it, wipe it and apply topcoat x

@@NailswithCourtneyCrosbie Is there anything I should watch out for? It's the first time I'll be doing this, thank you for the help!
@Blackemperess the polish doesn't need to be completely dry. Just touch dry. Make sure there's no water on the nail before you apply your topcoat :)

When done with the nail, do you remove it from the stick and put it on your nail?
You can, I just use them for practice and display mostly though.
Hello! I have a question about water decals. I've been storing all my decals in a business card holder.
I know each sheet has a protective piece of plastic on the front, but on some of my water decals this protective sheet has fallen off.

How do I prevent this? Once the protective sheet falls off the water decal paper - it's not possible to reattach it.
I don't know. That hasn't happened to mine, I keep them in a similar book, but it's for photos so might be a bit looser.
Thank you so much for this...
That's my pleasure. Thanks for dropping in the comments! Xoxo
What did you put first on the nail after you put the dia de los Muertos ?
Gel polish 😃

Can you use them without gel polish? I'm on the fence about trying them. They seem so fun but also a bit intimidating

No problem! Sometimes when you buy stamping polishes or plates, they include a jelly stamper. Have a look around ebay for the best bargain!
Do you remove the sticky layer from gel color before applying decal?
Yea. I've done it both ways and it works fine either way but I find it slides areound a bit too much if you leave the tacky layer.
