I like this channel so much. Right now almost every single nail art channel is only using gel polish, which looks beautiful but I still have my regular nail polishes and I like to see a design that i can actually recreate :)

@@femketjeNL Regular nail polishes are so much more economical. Most people don't do gels at home, so they involve going to the salon and paying $20+ for them

For the full nail decals, if you're a gel (UV) user, use the base, cure, then top coat. The designs here are super cute!

Love water decals they are so much fun. Wish I could use the tweezers, but I end up making a mess. lol I use a small jelly stamper I can see all the way threw. Helps me aim. Hahaha tfs love the colors.

Hi, Femke! So I've finally used a few decals and had a suggestion for another video. I'm very auditory RUclips user, so I was hoping you could do a video that *talks* more about the trimming down/dealing with excess decals on short/ narrow nails. You could also use the opportunity to compare how different decals look over dark and light colors. Thanks for all the informative content!
Hmmz I'll keep that in mind when my nails are shortened again, now they're long and thriving and hopefully they will keep that way for a little while longer 🤭

Thanks for the reply to my comment from the other video. I see what your doing but this is the method im doing. When I grab the decal with the tweezers the decal crinkle together . If I try to slightly slide it off to grab it it'll stick to my finger . I guess I need to practice more. Idk. Probably try foils or something.
Foils are for me a lot harder to work with than decals 🤭 but maybe you are a pro at it 😁✨💕

At the end you applied normal top coat. But did u say you could also seal it wat a get top coat and cure it. I'm just curious if the nail polishes can be mixed..
You definitely can use regular nailpolish and cap it in with gel topcoat. The important thing is that the regular nailpolish has to be fully dry and hardened out before going in with the gel topcoat 😊

@@femketjeNL I been trying to grow my nails out but its been a difficult road do you have any tips how I can keep them healthy I use a hardening base coat with things that help and a hydrating nail growth serum but I can't seem to get them longer then the ends of my fingers before they flex and break still x

Do you have a tip though, what I'm doing wrong with my decals? I can slide them off the backing, but once I pick them up with the tweezers, they start curling up, which makes placing them really hard! I didn't see yours do that though.. Do I need to leave them in the water longer? What am I doing wrong?? 😅
It might be the decal, sometimes when they are a little thicker they have the tendency to curl up >.<
You can slide it off and use a longer tweezer to keep the decal from curling, or just place it with your fingers only :)

Wat een super leuke video. Zou het niet makkelijker zijn om eerst de topcoat aan te brengen en daarna de randjes netjes te maken met aceton? Om eventuele beschadigingen te voorkomen? Of zie ik dan iets over het hoofd😇
Maakt niets uit :) Beide manieren kan zolang je precies werkt aangezien ook de topcoat verwijderd kan worden bij te veel remover ^^

How do you get ride of wrinkles in the decal once you place decal?
If you work fast and/or there's still a bit of water left underneath the decal, you can easily rub the wrinkles out on the nail with your finger or for example a silicone tool 😊

Do water decals work on top of stick on nails, or do you have to use it on painted nails? Paint never lasts as long as the premade ones for me
I do think they work best on a little bit of textured surface such as a regular polish or gel polish, haven't tried it on a bare press on nail before but I guess if you'd seal it in with a top coat of any sort it could definitely work 😊

I've done exactly what you said in the video but as soon as I go to slide the decal off of the paper it falls apart or curls up. I tried using my finger and some tweezers to slide them off but neither worked for me. Idk what I'm doing wrong 😣
hmmz 🤔 it seems like it's all on the decal then! Have you tried another sheet or even brand of decals? I've only had super curling ones when the decals were kind of thick. The thinner the decal is, the easier it applies :)
How does this work with dip powder ? At what step is the water decal supposed to be placed ? And is top coat not necessary? I did dip powder on my mom and put the decal then top coat & it discolored the decal. So upset /:

When your doing the full nail decal and wiping away the excess on the nail are you just using water to do that or acetone?
Nailpolish remover works fine, even the ones without acetone :)

Didn’t occur to me to put more than one on my nail/s. Sometimes I also add some sparkling gel around on the water-decal, to give it that little bit of pizzazz.

When you are removing the excess with the brush, what’s on the brush ? Water or nails polish remover ? Also, how do you remove the decals ?
You can use regular nail polish remover or pure acetone to remove any excess or to remove the decal fully :)

Well they're kind of like that, but the good side of the decal is up instead of down with regular water slide paper 😊
dank je wel! Ik kan niet wachten tot ik mijn eerste water decals binnen krijg, maar heb ze van de week pas besteld, dus zal nog wel even geduld moeten hebben hihihi. Moet je ze eerst nog even laten drogen als ze op je nagels zitten? Of kun je gelijk topcoat eroverheen doen?
Op zich zijn ze erg snel droog wanneer je al het water en lucht van onder de decals hebt :) Ongeveer een half minuutje en je kunt er al met een topcoat over ;)

I have a question. Maybe silly? Why to put the nail polish on when you will cover the whole nail with the decal? Does it help to stick better? I always felt like it is waste of time and polish, unless it is for important reason? Otherwise it will cover up a pretty color polish application?

I usually put an opaque white or other light colour underneath to make sure the colours of the decal show nice and bright :)
Some decals are very thin and a little see through, so putting them on a dark colour or no coloured polish at all might dull them out.

Do you have to put polish on your nails to use the water decals?
I haven't tried applying them straight onto naked nails, or at least I can't remember ever doing that. I guess that if you want to keep a naked clean nail look without any coloured polish and add water decals, you can simply add a clear base coat first since the decals will need something to stick onto. I think a clean naked nail is too smooth/slick for the decal to adhere to 🤔 But if you try to apply them onto clean nails, let me know how it works out! 😊
Is the application the same as you would for dip nails?
I do think so! :) Personally I haven't used any dip powders for my manicures, but I can image that wouldn't make a difference in applying waterdecals
I have tried and tried to use these. And i dont understand. Mine dont slide off nice and neat, able to be picked up and placed on the nail. As soon as i slide mine off the cling up into a ball that is unable to be flattened out. It turns into a super soft gel. And if you touch it it just disintegrates. Ive tried different amounts of time. And it all goes perfectly until i try to take it away from the paper. Like yours are sliding off although very thin, in one piece. Mine slide off, but as soon as it comes completely away from the paper it turns to a wad of colored gel... Have you had this happen?
I have never had that happen to my decals before, ofcourse some will curve a little on some edges (especially the full nail ones because of the size), but that's easy to fix when you slide them onto the nails. It really seems to me that the decals itself are the issue and simply dissolve for some reason. Where did you get them if I may ask? :)
I get mine from aliexpress and they all work fine. Eventhough they are extremely thin I've never had them crinkle up and just dissolve before adding it to the nails :o

You are very welcome :) I haven't tried any from wish myself yet, so I don't know if they have a different type of decals, but if you follow their instructions I feel like they should work fine... if they don't the decals are just no good and it is for sure not your fault!
Ik heb alle stappen gevolgd, maar het lukt mij maar niet. De waterdecal scheurt en vervormt zodra ik deze met een pincet of met met een vinger van het papier af laat 'glijden'. Eenmaal op de nagel lijkt het totaal niet op de afbeelding die ik voor ogen had. Heb je daar misschien tips voor?
Oei, dat klinkt niet best! 😯 Het lijkt alsof het aan de soort decal ligt, ik heb dit zelf nog niet gehad met de water decals die ik tot nu toe heb gebruikt! Ik zou eens een ander setje scoren op aliexpress om te kijken of het daar ook bij gebeurt. Die pakjes van 25 of 50 stuks werken altijd super goed op mijn nagels en zijn extreem betaalbaar 😘
@@femketjeNL Bedankt voor je tip! Ik denk dat je gelijk hebt. Die van mij zagen er hetzelfde uit alleen kwamen deze van Wish vandaan. Vandaag weer een nieuwe poging gewaagd en nog steeds hetzelfde probleem. Heb de waterdecal in het licht gehouden en daar zie ik direct allemaal puntjes/gaatjes in de afbeelding.

Is this after you've applied them? Then simply add a good layer of topcoat :)
Wat voor remover gebruik je voor die grotere water decals als ik vragen mag?
Gewoon reguliere remover, eventueel met aceton maar zonder werkt ook prima 😊 Ze lossen erg snel op omdat ze zo dun zijn!
I dont know why but mine is coming out reversed... the coloured on back and white patch up. I need to turn it to place it on the nails. What am i doing wrong?
