I so appreciate these discussions
Brideshead Revisited is one of four books that got this Inklings reading Methodist boy into to the Catholic Church. The other three: Chesterton's Orthodoxy, Percy's Love In The Ruins and Newman's Apologia Pro Vita Sua. Thanks be to God. Great video Frs. Bonaventure and Gregory. I appreciate your videos on art, literature and film. Great job on Wes Anderson. My, my... Great breakdown of common themes and structure of his films. Bravo! And may God continue to bless your efforts and crown them with His success.
Oh yes, the Brideshead Revisited miniseries from the early 80s was great too. Of course, not the later film of the same name, which I don't mind calling hideous.
I'd love to hear a discussion on the music of John Tavener. A couple of my favorites are his "Funeral Ikos" and "Song for Athene".
I'd like to see a discussion of the paintings and life of William Kurelek. If you haven't heard of him....hey, content!
Btw if people are searching for “the bbc version” of this it doesn’t exist because it was ITV that made it. Everyone thinks it was BBC because historical drama is normally their thing, but not in this case.
its eve- elyn, not ehv-elyn.
Father Pine is a hot priest
Is there anyway you could link the episode of "French Catholic Spirit" mentioned (in reference to Claudel, Péguy, and Bloy)? I couldn't find it in previous episodes. Thanks! Loved this episode

I would guess that royal marines might be a tough lot even if they be catholic
why did the friars publicly mention sins of Evelyn Waugh? I thought that is the sin of detraction to do so?
I guess this plays into the larger question of ‘how should we talk about other people?’
They are common knowledge, so much so that it would be disingenuous not to say something on the subject.
So Father Bonaventure, who are your favorite characters in Brideshead??
