@@labronzejade this game is a masterpiece, I've watched the remake and I don't like it it's soulless made to be more action and I don't like Maria in it she sounds bored and wooden I hope team silent legacy stays alive because there so many toxic people out there bullying old fans for protecting original art and not wanting to be sheep and support the same game being remade over and over again overreliance on remakes stifles creativity within the industry and prevents original storytelling from flourishing.
I'm glad you did this just before the remake I'm super eager to play, and it's going to be fun watching you go through it again and hear about your expectations and such with the remake as I wait. Just started but, I'm with you in your excitement to hear the deliveries of all the new voice actors. That combined with the new remixed music are going to be so beautiful.

Regarding some of the fights you were a little rusty in, when replaying these don't sweat it, with practise they are way easier, especially the Eddie fight, but if it's been a bit since you were playing no one's judging mistakes. You want to make use of cover during that one and run around a lot so his shots fall short. Pro tip, you can kill Abstract Daddy in like 2 hits from the Great Knife, and the chainsaw can get Eddie in like 4, and that's on hard mode. Also, did you know that James' OG actor, Guy Cihi, still interacts with the fandom to this day and is a really sweet dude? It really is super cool but I don't think many fans actually know this. He has shared before how meaningful it was over the years getting fanmail from people who loved SH2 and it helped him appreciate the positive effects that games like Silent Hill can have for people who grew up with them. To this day he still semi-regularly posts memes about SH2 and has acted out little live-action scenes of what might have happened after the endings of the game as James, which is really cool, and has done skits with Laura and Eddie's OG actors, who he is friends with still. Really cool, and no one ever talks about it haha. Thought about what he might be up to recently recently since the Remake and started watching old memes he made lol, fun stuff! Always great to see irl James. Oh crap I've totally spaced a game suggestion for you. Its Parasite Eve. Its a classic on the ps1. I think you'll love it because its a Square Enix survival horror game. Since you like Final Fantasy games and horror titles. Its got unique combat and amazing art direction/ enemy design with rpg elements mixed in. The story and music are the best parts imo.

Yeah...about this "maria" ending it's the worst one (after the water ending since it's a suicide ending) because according to the lore after james is going with maria she's starts to develop quickly the same illness mary had and die shortly...the spirit of silent hill does not make any discount...my grandma past away on april 14 and i must say i felt like james because i was very sad and i got three endings on my first dream of my grandma i dreamed i was in the funeral and suddenly i heard her breathing from the body bag and when i opened it i saw her moving like a zombie (though she did not bite) and on the next dream i looked for her through a disgusting cyberpunk like huge apartment complex and suddenly she was in my room there (dont know weird dream i apparently lived there) but she had a giant head like in Tekken 2 and on my third dream it was not a dream but an Astral projection type where i met her in my apartment (it was identical to the house (nothing was different or weird) and i saw her in my kitchen making pancakes and told me that it was a bum she had to passed away at 72 but she's in a place i need not worry or be sad and that i should continue my life in the best way i can.....damn i got some ffed up And ever since the third dream i am not in a agony of loss Anyway i really recommend you to play the remake (if i may be allowed to advice you) the remake of silent hill 2 is the best entry since 4 I'm not kidding this remake is literally a real silent hill game with the team silent unique feeling the first 4 game had but on an unreal engine 5 I never had this much fun from a game since i was a child (yes kinda effd up i played silent hill at the age of 8) please stream blind silent hill 2 remake
I was always under the impression that you also had to make a save at the Motel save point (while with Maria) to get the ending. Probably a false memory. Anyway, to me this is the most tragic ending, with James completely succumbing to his delusion, unable to accept reality and choosing, subconsciously, to remain stuck in a loop of torment.
It truly is! (Maybe even surpassing how unsettling the In Water ending!) Since yes, as you mentioned, James chooses to live his asynchronous past/present and delusion/reality, staying in his mental prison. Always great to see you btw friend thanks for stopping by!
I used to laugh and jeer at the stilted, unnatural, weird lines and delivery, but I've actually come to realize that it's all perfect to create that dreamlike and slightly "off" quality for the purgatorial limbo state all the characters are in. Unlike, say, RE1 original, where the lines and voice acting are unintentionally (and wonderfully) "bad", I think for SH2 it was actually deliberate. All that said, I can of course still get a kick out of all that stuff in this game the same way I do with RE1, but I now acknowledge and appreciate it on another level :)
