Both of my Addi knitting machines do not have the digital counters. So, I have never had issues with the counters messing up. This was a very informative tutorial. Gave me a few ideas for other projects as well.

Hi. CONGRATULATIONS. I've never watched a video IN FULL. Its Fast Forward and when they find they have come across a problem they stop the video FIX THEIR MISTAKES and start showing the end of their work. Frustration 🤨. You spent a good deal of time from the BEGINNING to the END with no FF or cheating to complete your project. That was fantastic. A pleasure to watch and I enjoyed every second, sometimes holding my breath when you picked up stitches 🤣😂💕. I seem to get hooked to this machine. 😁 I dont have a CIRCULAR MACHINE but I intend investing in one. I have 2 Electronic Knitting Machines a Brother and Singer but never tried socks or mittens on them. Too lazy. I noticed that ALL YOUR VIEWERS are in full admiration and full of appreciation for this super great in detail video.

I managed to adapt this pattern to my king size addi - thank you so much for the video. It means I have a side seam along the thumb side, but I can live with that.

I am having issue with it dropping stitches right off the back i just got this my mom brought the innovation for me i am ordering the adi king i found it for a low price. all the videos i find are all on the adi so i figured i would get it. Thanks for being such a good teacher.

Thank you so much for this wonderful and clearly explained video. Just so I understand correctly, when you did the thumb with the flat panel knitting, you didn't flip the switch on the Addi to flat knitting, but left it on circular knitting. Am I correct?
correct, you dont need to use your switch

You can use it for anything you wish to add or manipulate the stitches for. Waste yarn is used to hold stitches, its you that decides how these stitches are to be used for .

Very nice video, Suzy! Do you use the blanket stitch to sew up the thumb from the inside or outside? Also, is there a way (other than using a double strand of yarn--because the Addi will not like that at all) to make the entire body part of this mitten doubled (like in a tube & with 2 thumb extensions)? I ask this because it is my fingers & thumb that get cold...not my wrist arm area where it is already so thick (4-ply after it gets folded back). Thanx!

I live in a drastically cold region and need doubled up mittens, is there a way to do this? I like how the thumb is done on your mitten a lot.
Hi do you need a small machine and a big machine.. for example to make a child’s hat to an adult hat or scarf??
For what you stated you would use the kingsize. The small pro is for things like mittens, the width is the size of a tennis ball
Great Work! Does the Addi machine like any kind of yarn or do you have to use certain kinds? With my Sentro I have to use Carton Simply Soft
It works best with a yarn that has a bit of stretch to it, Caron works fine.

for my pattern I would just say to do less rows for the mitt and thumb it should fit for any size that way.

which size addi machine did you use for this? Don't have a machine so would like to know which size to buy
+Rose Leblanc To make mitts: Addi Professional (small one 22 needles) it makes round and flat panels the width of a tennis ball. The Addi Kingsize is 46 needles will make baby to Adult hats etc.. will also do flat panels.. Great for hats, wider scarves, sweaters, afghans etc..

I am just wondering about using this technique for socks - I don't see any patterns for socks using the add knit, but aren't you essentially turning a heel with that thumb part? Maybe it would be too much hassle but it seems like it could work. Of course, there wouldn't be a ribbed top but I'm not sure you'd need one, right?

Did you flip the switch from circular to flat knitting when you started the thumb?
There is no need just keep it circular it doesn't matter

I am looking into buying an addi express machine. the price for the king size is just 20 dollars more than the normal size. both prices are from addi through Amazon. Should I go ahead and get the king size?
It depends on what you want to make. Mittens, socks, narrow scarves are made on the addi express professional. The larger items such as hats, sweaters, afghans wide scarves etc are made with the addi express king size

Yarns:
It would seem like every machine, they all have their different characters. Mostly Addi does not like stiff yarn or COTTON. Bulky yarns are a challenge to work with such as chenille (but not impossible) it’s just harder on the machine. I personally have found the best acrylic yarns are a 4 ply (north American) such as:
Red Heart With Love, Bernat Premium, Carons Simply Soft, Vanna’s Choice, Deb Norville Everyday, just to name a few. Natural Fibers work as well, whatever you decide to use; as long as it has a bit of a stretch to it there shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Note: Red Heart Supersaver yarn is a bit of a challenge, but if you use a bit of weight and watch your stitches more, there should not be a problem.
*The trick is not to go too fast..
At a steady rate of speed and watching that your stitches are knitted properly you can easily achieve making your project in no time at all. For difficult yarns, trying using light weights to hold down your project.
*The average hat takes between 20 - 30 minutes to make.

Question: HELP!! After I cast on with five rows then attach my next color I am ending up with a hole between the last white and first black. I have tried the slip knot and everything. BUT the white peg before black gets BIG hole : (
+LemireCassie you have to make sure at that point your tension is tight.. hey if all fails just stitch up when sewing your thumb, no worries, it wont show

You can’t knit off the hooks how else would I in this
?? I show you how to do the whole mitt on the machine in the video. If you want to knit it off the machine you would transfer the stitches on to a 6 mm knitting needle and do that if you would want to continue with it.

I take it u brock your machine becuase you didnt close your hatch
not at all because I was just taking my stitches off the machine. In 6 years I havent even broken a needle, knock on wood lol.
@@Suzy-AddiKingLoomersandKnits another youtube channel this lady who has a even bigger addi who makes reversable hats said te hatch being left open is a big reason they break that and acrilic yarn messes up the counter reason why
