This has been the best example for knitting socks on the addi that have seen to date all the other ones just made a tube and called it a sock😳😳no heel or toe were made into them like this one and it looked almost like how I have done it when hand knitting them. Thank you for sharing🤗🤗🤗
So awesome! At first I was like "Well, my German will come in handy for this" and then noticed it had an English voice over lol thank you! 💖 Danke Schöen
Great demonstration, loved that there was a translation. Just acquired my little Addi and so hard to find demos for anything to make, so hope you have more with translations. You really are the best I have seen.
Sylvie, I just bought the addi express 46 and 22. Was looking ways to make socks with the heel and I love how you teach it. Why don't you have more videos with the machine. I don't know how to knit and I can't because arthritic hands. Looking forward for more. Thank you❤
I am so excited to see this video. I feel it's very clear and I cannot wait to give this a try! Thank you for so generously sharing your clever solution to short rows on the Addi! also thank you for getting an English translation up!!
Thank you so very much for this demo. I've been trying to choose a knitting machine and you've done such a great job working with the Addi that I've decided to buy this one and refer back to your video when it arrives. Thank you for the English voice, it helps so much when you are watching your work. Please keep up the great work, you are the best teacher.
Well done great explanation - I knew there must be away to do the heel simply on this machine - thank you for explaining it so simply and concisely = THANKYOU
So excited to try this! Had my Addi for while & only made tubular socks. Just ordered my stitch markers. If I can grasp this I'll do an English version for my channel. Awesome and inspiring. Thank you xx
I love your demonstrations and step by step instructions, Thank you so much! This makes me want to buy that machine specifically. I cannot crochet socks fast enough in the winter and those look lovely. My yarn stash has piled up and that should give me an edge! Thanks again!
This is the best video I have seen on how to make a sock! Thank you so much for going nice and slow and explaining things so thoroughly I have a king size machine coming in a few days and I’m curious if you can make socks on a king size as well. It says in the description that you can I just don’t know how. I would love it if you could explain to me how to do that. 😊
I’d love to know if you’re able to make socks on the bigger one. I’m still deciding which one to buy. I had thought the bigger one with a finer yarn made sense, but I’m rethinking that as I think the tension would get weird. I don’t know. Hopefully you’ve figured it all out!
Toll Sylvie!! Ich meine das leste mal wo ich den video gesehen habe es war nur in Deutsch, Ich finde das so schön das es jetzt in English ist, verstehe Ich viel besser. :)
It is rather straight forward video, and socks are beautiful. Thank you Sylvie. Unfortunately I cannot see properly colours so when you’re performing the Kitchener stitch I cannot see it properly. Do you have any recommendations of videos where I could learn it from? Thank you.
Question when doing the short rows do you switch to pannel or leave it on tube setting. It a clear video just this question I thought of when I watched video a while back and thought to ask while ai rewatch video. This would help when I am on a knitting slump and what to try making sock on machine..
I'm confused by the toe... It looks like after the short/long row toe-shaping, the round ends in the middle, and this is where the waste yarn starts. Doesn't this mean that when sewing the toe together with Kitchener stitch, it's starting in the middle of the toe, rather than at the sides?
Has anyone had issue doubling the yarn to make the sock and the yarn ends up with 4 strands under the hooks when making the heel which my machine is not ok with
I found this reasonably easy to follow but impossible to actually replicate on my Addi. Tension was difficult to manage, the marked stitches kept falling off the needles, and I couldn't even finish one sock. I ended up feeling like it would be easier and less challenging to knit the socks by hand. As I bought the machine specifically to make socks, this is beyond frustrating. Update: A year's experience with CKMs, and six attempts ... almost getting it now.
I am just starting myself so can`t help you as such. However, I believe the addi can be very fussy with which yarns it wants to work with. There are a few youtube articles on preferred yarns. I am going to start with James Brett chunky which was recommended on a local Scottish page. Good luck
Has anyone made a pair yet? She specifically says not to count the center needle on short rows, yet her count makes it looks like she does. Could not follow toe instructions for set up. I knitted just the leg and foot on the Addi and did the rest by hand. They are very tight with 2 strands of sock weight and too open with one.
Well, The Short Rows for the heel are 4 markers left and right on each side. And you go over the middle just 2 stitches over the middle. I explain it in the Video - I already saw a lot of finished pairs from others. What Kind of Sockyarn did you use?
Can you please tell me how you did the short row for the heel?I also plan on casting on by hand, and do the heel and toe box also by hand.Because I need to cast on only 22 rows to match the machine,I can't really figure out how to do the short row. Also,do you think it will be hard to keep putting and taking off the stitches from the machine?Thank you.
All the short rows for the heel are completely shown in the Video. It is EVERYTHING in step by step! Just watch the whole film. And casting on by hand and putting on the machine is not a good idea, it is hard to get the stitches on.
@@SylvieRasch Again, let me start with thank you for the video and apologies for taking so long to get back to you. During your explanations the camera shifts focus from what your hands are doing to you explaining what you are doing. By maintaining focus on the actual machine as you explain it might make it easier for people who need the visual cue (ie people like me).
Step 1: 2:30
Step 2: 5:41
Step 3: 11:00
Heel Step 4: 12:12
Heel Step 5 21:02
Step 6: 25:20
Step 7 Toe: 26:03

I love this video! I'm following every single step now :-) especially the cuff part making the 1*1 rib is just awesome!!!

Wow. Ok, so clearly *not* a beginner's project! I will bookmark this for later. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the english translation. I truly appreciate it.

Thank you so much for this wonderful video! You did a great job explaining everything.
Thank you for English language instructions

I have the Kitchener stitch here in my channel called nähen im Maschenstich. Take that video please
Thank you, Sylvie Rasch 🧶

You don’t need to change the setting 😊
@@SylvieRasch OK, thank you. 😊
Did your addi have poping noise and stick on one of the black pegs
Thank you for the translation
with this machine we can make sweater or not please
yes, you can also make a sweater with this. but there ist also a big one for sweaters.
Thank you very very very much!
Excellent!
Thanks

It is starting under the foot on the opposite side of the beginning of the short rows
Thankyou so much!
Would you use two strands of 8 ply or two of 4 ply for these socks?
2 of 6 ply or 1 4 ply 1 8 ply
Sylvie Rasch - CraSy creative things Thank you for such a swift response. Great video too. Really clear and helpful :-)
Can you do this in dk
DK yarn would work
Can I Use 4 ply for socks on this machine? Also what is the lowest needle size?
this is for 8 ply socks. 4 ply is way to thin unfortunately
Has anyone had issue doubling the yarn to make the sock and the yarn ends up with 4 strands under the hooks when making the heel which my machine is not ok with
is your yarn to chunky maybe? try it with less chunkier yarn
:) Wonderful. Thank you so much.
+Jeanette Lamb (Dunphy) thank you!
How many can you make a day?
It takes about 20 minutes for one sock. So you can calculate it
I found this reasonably easy to follow but impossible to actually replicate on my Addi. Did you tried a tension fork?

Sylvie Rasch - CraSy creative things Thank you.It looks a bit too messy for me around the heel and toes, the reason I want it to try that by hand.
That first round is what I'm having the most trouble with...argh.
Great video but continue focus on the addi itself would have made it awesome!
how do you mean that?
@@SylvieRasch Again, let me start with thank you for the video and apologies for taking so long to get back to you. During your explanations the camera shifts focus from what your hands are doing to you explaining what you are doing.

It looks much messier than hand knitting.
@Meelow Avila That invention is left for you to construct.
I still don't understand the heel after about a dozen watches of this video whole and more like fifty back and forth over the heel instructions.
Can someone PLEASE make a video in ENGLISH of how to do this?
THANKYOU! Peace, Love, ADDI! Mary
+Mary Fallet it is in english! the translation is there
