It would be great to see an update on this amazing car!
Looking for one myself. Even if the motor was junk why not do a video on it?
I've been searching all the videos for one too. 😢
+1
Grenaded on first start up? Mo money thrown at it, mo problems. then just jacked the project? 🤷♂
I hate when they do this. Start an interesting car; then stop inexplicably posting updates for years. That's why I search for finished projects, then work my way backward. I've been burnt by their ADHD one too many times. Screw a cliffhanger. Finish the car. Or at least say what happened to stall the project. Skip limbo.
Who remembers the welding jedi from the 1st lambo build
I do! Tony is the best!
Pepperidge farm remembers
It was scary watching these welds done as turbos usually have very small tolerances and high temperatures could warp the casing, but I hope it'll turn out to be working just fine.
Griffin Gooch u get a sub for that
Make sure not to use that huge stock of chlorinated brake cleaner on anything that will be welded!
"the combination of welding and brake cleaners can lead to serious illness, permanent damage to your internal organs, or even death."

As a fellow 996 owner, I love progress on this series!! A tip regarding any work on the engine/rear is to from the start just instantly get rid of the rear bumper and exhaust heat shields while working on it. Makes access around the engine that much easier, removing rear wheels helps a lot too.
@@cayman9873 not very difficult at all. porsches, even rear engine and mid engine ones, are surprisingly servicable. bumpers are just mounted with a few clips and screws.
"This car can make 1000 HP!!" * lambo flashbacks *
but seriously. awesome project!! Excited to watch it unfold
That lambo should make a 1000 hp easy but if you want a 100,000hp then buy a supra simple 🙄
Lmao, laughed so hard when it dynoed like 500whp after many *making +1000hp* clickbaits
I have not seen one genuinely make thousand hp. Some have got good enough hp! But not a thousand.
@@chriscollins550 there isn't really a reason why those lambos couldn't make 1000hp but they need the correct fuel and tune which no one has remember JR's 2000hp lambo with 850hp?
@@chriscollins550 lol find em vids then, there is even 2500-3000hp ones.

‘Didnt wanna go too CRAZY so instead of 700hp we have 1000HP’ yeah thats not crazy in a light car
BO55 ABU its a number to click bait dumb kids. 1000HP at what boost? At what map? Will it hold the power? That’s what you get when you grow up with fast n the furious instead of having a proper mechanical background. The stock gearbox on this Porsche wouldn’t even shift a second gear at such power.
@@djmrausch the transmission isnt stock
lucas alves might be the case, might not. As he said, the car has been thru many hands and I highly doubt that the engine build ever was worth 50k€. There’s a good bunch of high end components on this car...and than there’s 20$ silicone hoses from China...I rest my case
Mischa Rauschenberg ik its a joke chill dude no need to be so mean damn
Mischa Rauschenberg also i know my way with cars so please dont go and make assumptions about ‘growing up with the fast and the furious’ im aiming to be a mechanical engineer and comments like yours arent helping and if you watched the vid properly then you would know that the gears were built so it can handle more power
“I’m not DDE” 😂😂
Freddy was there any more vids of this being finished? would love to see an update. Love the Porsche shape
Freddy, your videos inspired me to have a lot more confidence in working on cars myself, and now, at 19 I'm working at an independent Porsche shop, where we work on mostly air cooled cars, and a lot of 996s.. needless to say, seeing you have a 996 turbo on your channel is awesome.
Jeremiah Coleman keep it up dude! Good on you learn a lot!

@Un Known ‘air cooled cars, AND a lot of 996s...’
@@UnKnown-su2gl love when trolls make themselves look more idiotic than they already are.
@@UnKnown-su2gl I'm impressed by how much can turn into an arguement on here. Yes, 996s are water cooled. Thanks for letting me know, I'll try to remember that.. Have a nice day.
Thank you for being so honest about how long these builds take and how many times you have to start over and come at the problem from another direction. Every time I get stumped or have to redo something, I keep in mind that even Tavarish hits dead ends sometimes. Appreciate you leading by example! You've inspired me to take on more projects on my own cars and never give up when it takes longer than I thought it would. Very rewarding to fix things yourself!!
This turbo has a thicker shaft!...
Giggerdy 💪🏻🤛🏻😂😂😂

Great video as always. You should buy your Brakleen by the gallon and use a Sure Shot to squirt it. Way cheaper, way more effective, and you never have to worry about a dead can with no propellant.

@sig23 Hahah I'm not sure what you mean but thanks for reaching out brother!
Yes Frederick, German cars have went the opposite direction of big engines and now put smaller forced induction into there cars instead. IE VW, Audi, etc. The only company holding true to big engine big power is MercedesBenz.
Your Name I mean, you’re not wrong about Merc being the ones who champion big engines, but BMW has stuck with the 3.0 for 21 years straight.
They also had a v16 in one of the 7 series in the 00’s lol
He’s actually working on a car by himself :0 been a while🤣
Did you not see the guy welding for him?

Overbuilding is always good. You don't make maximum power but the power you do make is more reliable, because it's not at the limit all the time! The parts have less stress on them, which makes them last longer and you have less chance of blowing up your engine.
lol You never know what type of background music he's gonna use

Hey tavarish, the crankcase has no oil sump, it's a dry sump system jeje tank it's at the right side behind the rear wheel. Awesome build dud, can't wait to hear it
All hail the almighty!!
This mans already gone broke and still gets more projects.
Now thats dedication!
He's not broke make no mistake he gets sponsors for all his projects all he has to do is mention the product so the people who get him the parts etc etc give him the stuff and he says "advanced auto parts are great " mention my channel at check out n get 20% off so he gets not only the parts but you tube gives him money for views make no mistake he is a multimillionaire same as Doug Demuro / Tyler Hovie. Etc .Etc . And you know what good for them I think it's great that they make money doing what they love to do .
That montage BGM though ❤️ also I'm always amazed how such intricate pieces of machinery is installed sooo damn close to the wheels, plus the heat management, it's really fascinating

The light DDE shade was funny sportsmanship.
Yo dude have you thought of investing in a parts cleaning machine? Would be very handy as you always got stuff in pieces!
Didn't see this mentioned in the comments, but the Cobb AccessPort is NOT a piggyback or even "like" a piggyback tuning solution. It re-flashes the stock ECU. Other than that, really excited to see how this build turns out. I'm a fellow 996 Turbo owner and it's cool to see this platform getting love again.

LMAO 🤣💩😂 you got me dying when u said I don't need 1,000 hp im no dde... 👻👻👻👻
For tuning go Motec standalone. The antilag would be epic. Also the motec launch control is insane.
That leaky drain plug needs a new crush washer... it is driving me nutz.
Is it me, or is this the last video on this not done build? Wrap it up man!
It’s scary how close the tire is to the turbo’s. Wouldn’t it rub when the car squats during pulls?
Sometimes the rear tires rub if you're running wider tires. But it will run the inner fender before it contacts the turbo. The turbos are actually pretty tucked away. Closest part is the turbo hotside IC hose, and there's a good couple of inches of clearance.
it looks like if those tires actually had tread on them they would be really close to the inlet tube.
@@ddeel24 certainly less clearance than I'd like if I were an engineer, but it works given the circumstances of an AWD, rear engine, twin turbo, flat 6. Lots going on back there Haha.
Yea that would me make super nervous. Wouldn’t drive that on the roads around my house, but this will probably be a track car.
@@jasonshortphd it's the stock setup. They made thousands of these cars and I've never heard of an issue with tire/turbo contact. Totally safe to drive on any roads.
This is your best video to date for a build type this was top notch
When you see tavarish upload a video you know it is a good day

One of the best car RUclips channels
10 months later and there's no new video on this car 😔
Have you ever bought a car from overseas? If you ever decide to give it a try, look into getting a Opal Calibra 2.0 liter add. At the time of its debut it was the most aerodynamic production car being built. I think it would make for a great build since it is essentially a Chevrolet/GM
Awd not add
To quote Jeremy Clarkson in his McLaren P1 review: “the throttle is a hyperspace button; step on it and you’re gone!”
More unfinished projects being started! RIP manual SL55.
First Lambo still isn’t done. Top doesn’t work, turbos still sucking oil, electrics held together w wire nuts, etc.
Problem is his current methodology is evidently working for him and so I can't see it changing until the numbers dictate otherwise.
"I don't want to go too crazy."
*proceeds to dial it up to 1000hp*
One of your best time lapse’s, love the music. Man I hope you keep this one, it seems special!
i have a feeling that most of that brake clean stuff is gonna be used on one car lmao
I service large commercial trucks and the like for a living and go thru a few cans of brake cleaner a day.
The "whoa boy" about getting it in your eye I felt in my soul
The last time I was this early his lambo was supposed to make a 1000 hp
In true car guy fashion, has an entire shop but assembles the turbo for his super car on top of a plastic bag on a messy tool cart.... love it!
Felt like tavarish was saving the world listening to the music😂
Awesomee....keep killing it!! That 911 is going to be a beast.
Where's the next episode ?
I have to admit, when you bought this car it sent me on a bit of a Porsche phase, which was quite new for a jdm fanboy like me. I love the color, rims and power possibilities of this car, and it's even somewhat affordable!
Man I remember when playing gran turismo and anything with 1000hp was “insane” in 2001. 20 years later, “reality”
I remember when I got a viper to 950hp on GT and thought that was bloody insane. Handled like a brick roller skate. Now there are production cars running more hp than that. What a time to be alive.
...and broke.
I remember unlocking the TVR Cerbera Speed 12. At “only” 800 HP stock that thing was mental. Pretty uncontrollable without traction control turned way up. 😅
Exactly and Freddy is like “yah I have several production cars at 550+ HP but let’s do more”
I have yet to play a driving game that possessed the magic of Gran Turismo. I love the Forza games and all, even Midnight Club and some NFS games, but GT created a mold for me that nothing has broken. Last console I bought was a 360. I think I'd gladly trade it for a PS2 at this point. Dunno anyone that would take me up on it, though lol.
Right? Like they’re goal was to simulate cars, and allow mods. Definitely was more sim and not arcade. Plus all the cars you mighta owned too and how they handled were well represented
WHOA WHOA............where the hell is the update??? *sobs in the corner of the living room
peace and love to Tavarish for bringing us here and to all my fellow nuts!
NICE! That looks like a fun car! Balance it!
You pointed to the engine case and said it was the oil pan. It’s a dry sump, so it doesn’t have an oil pan.
+1
This is my favorite video ever, just for that aladdin reference 🤣
In hopes that you still sometimes read comments on old videos like this... what happened to this build? Did u sell the Porsche or just no time to continue?
“I’m not DDE I don’t need any bragging rights” haha love it and them
When will car trek 2 start?
11:06 to 14:50 is the best fast-motion RUclips montage I've seen in a while
How do you plan to put all that power to the road?
MuitoDaora fatter slicks on the rear!!! Plus the rear heavy Porsche is definitely gonna help sending power to the wheels
Porsche Turbo's are all wheel drive.

@@ricogaras9613 It will spin like crazy when the turbo hits.
Clyde Lipp oh my bad I don’t know why but I was thinking of the Cayman GT4 which is RWD
Love that you just don't get fazed and just keep at it . . . You're like MacGyver !! Looks like she is going to be a beast !!
Funny how a stroked out flat 6 and relatively small snails can crank all the way to 1000HP. All the 2JZ guys have to install absolutely giant snails to get even close to 1000; granted, they're not stroked out, but still....have to wonder at the ingenuity of this setup.
i mean, his engine does have an extra 1.2L on a 2jz lol displacement does a lot
That is because this engine has 2 turbo's and the 2JZ guys use only one.
@@spooler7828 Nah not always, but I see what you're saying

Any update pls?🙏🏽
I love Tavarish ! GOD SPEED BUD !!
I actually hate how close those turbos are to the wheels... Makes me nervous.
Me too!! Im scared about the dust of the road...
same
And how hot will the tires get from handling 1000hp AND two huge turbos next to em?
You’d think some kind of shielding would be in order, for limiting heat transfer to the rubber, and for debris bouncing off the turbos... I know I’d figure out something if I were in this position.
Definitely the 🧠 of the operation, the turbo upgrades are insane hope the engine holds like a champ. It has to be stand alone ecu there’s no other way to play with that candy. What a trek‼️
