    I've used Filter Balls very successfully for 5 years now. Performance and pool cleaning abilities are much better than sand.
    Backwashing can absolutely be done on Filter Balls. However, required much less often since they hold more filter materythan sand.
    Cleaning of the Filter Balls is very simple and also allows for the entire equipment cleaning to take place. Increasing even more the flow pressure and equipment longevity.
    Mush less pressure on internal tank parts than sand. Which guards against cracked standpipe or laterals. That leads to entire tank sand volume, pumping directly into the pool. A nightmare scenario to recover from.
    Filter Balls are the way to go!! 💥👍

      You could not back wash filter ball it traps the dirt in them. I found that after 3 weeks the balls stopped working they were completely clogged the only way to reuse them would be to wring out each ball

      Not true. Simply drain off excess water, and dump in the washing machine. 10 minute washing machine cycle and done. My oldest Filter Balls set is 5 years old, and they perform as new. No need whatsoever to squeeze.
      They also absolutely can and are designed to be backwashed.👍

    Try using some of the balls in the skimmer and keeping the sand, they should catch slot of the fine crap before it gets to the filter and you can wash and replace them easily.

    Yep, depending on your usage of the pumpfilterset, cotton balls can be allright. The fun part is of course that they can be washed in a washmachine but the biggest drawback is that the backflushing of the filtersystem no longer is of any use. So I was filtering a pond, much more pollution than a swimming pool in general, and discovered that I can no longer pospone maintenance by backflushing. Now, in stead of doing maintenance every month or so, I nearly have to do maintenance every week :-( So depending on the pollution level, decide if these cotton balls are a good solution.
    Eco-wise : the sand can be just as well cleaned like the cotton balls can and sand is a natural product, these balls take fabricating...

    I would love to hear your update and also the difference in maintenance with cleaning the filter system (the instructions say there is no need to backwash!?)!!

      You don't need to backwash but you do need to remove all the balls and clean them when they get dirty.

      That would be a pain in the ass to remove all those dirty nasty balls. No thanks I’ll keep my sand and do it every 15 years.

    I have a 18 x 48 I also have that filter balls for the first time this summer. I went in the pool today with goggles and realized. There's so much stuff in my pool. And it doesn't feel like very much suction To the pump, my old pool had a skimmer. This one does not, and it's very clear. A skimmer is a necessity. Not sure why they would even make a pool without one. My 14 by 42 was always crystal clear and we just had a cartridge filter. And a skimmer. Also what should the p s I be at on the pump?

    • @Nikibaby74
      @Nikibaby74 Год назад

      I’m having the same problem. It’s like the pump is dumping the sediment and grime right back into the pool. I have never had this problem with any other pool. Crystal clear water all summer long. Now that I got this pump my water is disgusting and I can’t figure it out.

    • @Nikibaby74

      Oh and I bought a separate skimmer on Amazon. It build on the side of the pool and connects to one of the intakes.

    • @angiecrotts6100
      @angiecrotts6100 8 месяцев назад

      I said the same thing. We bought one this year and it didn’t come with a skimmer. I told my husband whoever designed that pool wasn’t thinking straight because there was no way to get the large bugs or whatever else was on top without a skimmer. The little suction thing was under the water and wasn’t getting anything from the top. We went to Walmart that night to get chemicals and they had a skimmer that connects to the side of the pool and it has been awesome. We have the balls in our filter and the skimmer. We run it 24/7 and use shock and the chlorine tabs and it has stayed clear. If we wouldn’t of bought the skimmer I would’ve probably took it down because there would be no way I would have time to constantly use the net and get crap off the top

    I have a larger filter and def didn't get enough balls, the 2lb bag I got was way before my minimum line and I wasn't sure if it was enough or not since it says it's "equivalent" to 40lbs of sand but I think that might be why my pressure is super low and I'm not getting my intake to fill completely... Or maybe I have a gasket not fully screwed on somewhere I dunno

  • @macan7042

    I would not recomend those, bad filtering and backwash works poor on them... if u got sand pump use sand... i use those "balls" for the last time this year... no more... gota feeling that alot of dirt pass true them...
