Thank you so much for watching the video. I'm not a colorblind person myself but it makes me incredibly sad to find out how atrocious the game looks in the eyes of different color blindnesses. And I thought NORMAL Borgo looked bad. Let's raise awareness for improvements and making maps look better for everyone.

people that say reshade is cheating probably come from games where it was actually used to cheat in the game and don't realize it can't quite be used in a game like dbd for that. in hunt: showdown it was used to be able to zoom in without a scope so you could snipe people with iron sights, it was used to make smoke and fog non-visible, and they used it to completely make the effect of flash grenades not work at all. but yeah, those are just some reasons i'm pretty sure some peeps think reshade is inherently used to cheat. regardless, i do really hope they add a legitimate colorblind mode that will actually help. and i know there are many neuro divergent folks out there that'd love a special effects audio volume slider or some way they can negate some of the sensory overloading sound effects from killers, gens, and maps. i genuinely hope your video helps push them in the right direction for all this. these issues could not have been more clearly presented than what you did here, such an awesome job.
praying that this results in a larger movement for better accessibility in this game because for being 7 years old it is frankly embarrassing how little settings DBD has compared to modern games.
Even just letting players change the aura colors would be a huge step in the right direction, and would be so easy to implement. BHVR’s negligence for accessibility is unacceptable.
I'm visually impaired and let me tell you dark maps ruin the game for me. I rely HEAVILY on movement to tell when someone is around. This game is horrible for anyone with even the most mild of visual and auditory impairment.

Thank you for posting the reshades in the discord, I’m saving a link to this video so I can install them next time I play. I am severely colourblind with basically everything that isn’t a clear blue or yellow and playing dbd (especially killer) can be super difficult if I happen to get a map like knight’s or singularity’s.
When the whole colorblind settings controversy blew up few years ago and BHVR posted they're going to give people basic settings, I was criticized for saying that cheap in-game filters won't be enough and that basically the whole game will have to be adapted to be accessible. I guess I was right after all.
I find some of the updated maps are too bright for me. (Coldwind, Crows map). I would love the color wheel for scratch marks.
I hope BHVR listens and starts prioritizing retrofitting necessary changes like these -Jukies
If you guys have an nvidia graphics card you might have the option to put filters on, u can open it by pressing alt + f3 or alt + z and click game filter
u can add colorblind filters through there and adjust as needed
behavior has little to no interest on implementing cross progression, i doubt they'll ever give a shit about colorblindness
with the last event especially, i have noticed that my tracking while playing killer has gotten significantly worse. scratch marks blend into maps incredibly well to the point where i have no idea where they lead or what happens to them. it genuinely has been giving me a minor headache. now, this is a bit of a skill issue on my part, i'll admit, but the bigger issue is that i DON'T have any issues seeing colors, and even i have trouble looking at the game sometimes. i regularly use reshade to brighten the game and to alter a few maps (borgo, coldwind, eyrie). i think it's ridiculous to do anything other than condemn bhvr for not giving the game even something as simple as a brightness filter at this point in it's lifespan.
My colorblind friend decided to uninstall the game due to DBD's inability to implement better colorblind settings. He loves DBD but he can't play it. It's sad and I hope BHVR listens. Great video, Naya. 🥰🥰

A color palette rework would genuinely improve the visibility for EVERYONE. Filters don't know the difference between red scratch marks, red stain, blood moon hooks or borgo. Im not colorblind but whoever thought making all 4 the same eye searing red should work at the home depot in hell so they can man the color sampler counter and just stare at 50 different shades of red for eternity.
I'd imagine decoupling scratch mark and red stain color as a setting wouldn't even be that hard. Literally just let players customize the hex code the game grabs for their color. It's something modders do all the time with or without full support.
You really should be able to change the color of auras in the settings at least.
i'm not sure why this was recommended to me, but i really hope it blows up. i'm not colorblind so i didn't know this was even an issue, i assumed their colorblind filters were good. truly a shame that they're this bad.
Great Vid Naya!! This is kiss by the way! I actually stopped playing DBD over a year ago and don't see a reason to return at all right now. DBD's lack of accessibility sucks ass.
Also, until they sort out their issues with the needlessly flashy maps too which can set off people with photosensitive epilepsy, I will find it difficult to play this game with some of my friends.
It could be a single toggle that basically changes custom coding of the maps for the user. But something needs to happen.
