  • KLOPP TO LEAVE LIVERPOOL. DEVASTATED. (LIVERPOOL FAN REACTION). Jurgen Klopp has announced that he will leave Liverpool FC at the end of the season along with Pep Lijnders, Matos and Krawietz. I'm still reeling to be honest, but he are my thoughts and feelings on the news, why he's taken this decision and the struggles facing FSG in replacing him.

The similarities between Klopp and Shanks keep growing. 50 years ago shanks retired, having started to build his 2nd, younger, vibrant side. Leaving when the club and he looked in a good place and potentially big things on the vast approaching horizon. Leaving the fans shell-shocked and in disbelief. However he left very solid foundations for his successor to go on to be the clubs most successful manager. Danke Jürgen, for everything YNWA

But Shankly kept turning up at Melwood like a lost lamb, in the end he had to be asked not to come & let Paisley get on with his job. After that he was turning up at Everton's training ground, Bill suffered after he left the club, Nessie was honest & open about this it was tough for her. I don't mean to be rude but the idea that it was some seamless transition is just fantasy.

Klopp has been an institution in and of himself for us Liverpool fans. It's one thing to adore a public figure, and it's another to have a relation with them that helps one become a better person. Klopp may not know how educational and motivational his tenure has been for all of us. The emotions right now are like that of seeing a most loved and respected teacher retire.
    What a gut punch.

Klopp has been a genuine inspiration for me even away from football. Putting your all in to your work, leaving nothing behind, having the knowledge that you can always look back and not see anything you've failed at as failure itself, because at least you applied your all and tried. I will genuinely miss him being a figure in Liverpool, but he lives by his word and I can see putting everything he has into this club has taken it's toll on him, but he's more than earned his rest, or as he put it, a refilling at the petrol station for the supercar that is; him.

Hi to whoever reads this, I started supporting Liverpool because of my dad I’m very young but I remember watching Torres and Gerrard and been blown away with how they played. Growing up into a teenager I grew very distant with my dad until we were almost strangers. The 2019 UCL final I got back in touch with him and we watched Liverpool lift number 6 together and it was a special moment. Fast forward my dad became very unwell during the start of Covid and I lost him in early May 2020. I never got to watch Liverpool lift the league in my lifetime with my dad and although it’s a sad tale i flip it to a thank you to Klopp for making the relationship between me and my dad turn around into a positive thing. I’ve never been more proud of Liverpool and I’m hopeful Klopp can bow out of Liverpool with another trophy or 2 this season. If you are still reading this just want to say thank you and have a blessed day. Also cheers Paul for always giving us fans the voice we need projected into the wide fanbase. ❤

Just sharing - I lost my dad about the same time to cancer ... he was a Man Utd supporter, me a Liverpool .... and we always have a go at bantering from the breakfast table to inside the car on my way to school. He died and buried in Borneo, missed the flight for his funeral, haven't got the time to visit his grave yet.
Now, I'm watching my kids have a go at each other when one is an Arsenal fan following his mum, so the other is a Chelsea. Futball, excellent sport dat brings joy, tears, laughter 98% of the time .. be it in the stadium, in your home or local sports bar.

The last few years have been really tough. It started for me when Sadio Mane left. He was my favorite player under Klopp during that amazing 3-4 year period when we were almost unstoppable, and when he left it felt like a book was beginning to close. Gini was gone too, and Origi, then Bobby, Milly, Fab and Hendo left, and I started to realize that it was over. We'd never see that amazing team again. But at least we still had Klopp for a few more years and he was rebuilding the team -- but now this. It's hard not to get emotional about it because yeah, it's really over now. One of the most exciting and thrilling periods of Liverpool's history is coming to an end and I'm not ready for that. I want it to last forever.

Just want to share that I started becoming a Liverpool fan after Istanbul. I'm an American and all the friends I knew that liked soccer liked United and I wanted to be different. I watched them occasionally in the states when I could going through high school, but once college and beyond started, I became a fervent supporter. I knew the songs, old and new, and made sure to watch clips of the past so I could understand where the club had been. Brendan was the first real manager I felt associated with and after 13/14 I didn't think I would've hit that high of a season again. Then Klopp comes into the interview looking like a stunt double for Tom Cruise and I was breath-taken.
It's been an unbelievable ride and the best part is that the season isn't over and we have work to accomplish. Thanks for continuing your content throughout this period of Klopp's reign. I really have enjoyed your treks through Europe and the unfortunate mishaps that may occur :D

Honest, integral and respectful, as ever. I think he's done it at the right time and in the right way, as is his way.
I've seen Shanks leave, Bob leave and Kenny leave and this is as momentous as any ONE of those. Even more so than Woy!!
He can rest easy in the knowledge that he will be placed in the cabinet along with the club's GREATEST greats and will be talked about down the line with nothing but affection and even love.

Uff, what a blow for everyone affilliated with this beautiful club.
Really gutted to say the least, but on the other hand absolutely reasonable decision from his perspective. He's been the perfect fit in basically every dimension a manager can fill and so many more you wouldn't expect. He brought us back to where every supporter has like an generally accepted mutual agreement of where we belong to - back in the thick of league, cup and international competition. He delivered the numbers, finals and what I will miss probably most , the emotions and memories of absoltely unforgettable matchdays.
He's been a father-figure for the young players and fans, a man-crush for everyone, a shield blocking all the nonsense the press thew at the players over the years, the flagship and moreover - a legend for the club.
He leaves us in a perfect position revitalised from the dreadful years before his tenure. Let's get the most out of this promising season. Thanks to Jürgen and his staff for everything they contributed over the last decade!
With that being said, I really hope the decision makers at the club use the time to think about a befitting successor. Someone who's idea of the game and playing stile isn't a completed disruption of what is instilled now in the squad. Really don't want someone, who has to turn everything inside out about the balancing of the players and eventually finds out, that he needs a completely new XI for that.
    Cheers

I'm absolutely devastated, still can't process it hours after the fact, i will always support Jürgen and he needs to do what's best for him and his family, last season he looked absolutely done in, however, this season he looks re-energized! And ready for 'Klopp 2.0'. We need to make the most of the rest of the season, win 'a' quad, Klopp deserves more trophies and enjoy it the best we can ❤

Been watching you and Chris and the rest of the comings and goings of RedmenTV since you started the channel post Hicks & Gillette when I was 18. There was nothing else to connect me with the club in y'all's way aside from an angry weirdo on here named Dunc with a Wallace & Gromit mouth and my scouse brother in law. So, you both (and "dad" and Tom lol) helped me navigate through all the highs and lows that this football club has been through for almost a decade and half. I'm so grateful for it, Paul. Football is a completely different landscape now, and the football club won't quite have that verve for a bit, but as a ~14 year viewer I couldn't imagine riding this wave without you all.
    Cheers, and YNWA

my 2 clubs are Liverpool and Palmeiras. both clubs currently have arguably the greatest managers in their entire histories, and for that, I consider myself very fortunate.
I've been lucky enough to see multiple Palmeiras matches under Abel Ferreira's leadership.
as a Liverpool supporter from the USA, I've always wanted to go to Anfield. I always thought, and maybe took for granted the idea, that I would be able to see Klopp's Liverpool team in person someday.
now though, that's looking very improbable, and it breaks my heart.

Then as time progressed, hope was kindled. It was clear this man was the leader and custodian we had been begging for decades. Now that he’s going, I’ll never forget what he gave us. It’s truly a shame, you don’t truly know the good old days until they’re gone.

Running around in the hotel in Melbourne when on holiday because you had just turned around the 4-1 deficit to a 4-0 drubbing of Barcelona in CL. Missing by a point and by 2 points in two seasons of Premier League to fighting for the rights of players and calling out bad refereeing....you were genuine, passionate and absolutely a perfect fit for Liverpool and its fans world over.

Klopp's groundwork may be the inspiration to push us onto a similar road to success! And if it's to fall to Xabi to be the next Paisley then all the better! YNWA.

I feel awful. I feel for everyone as well. Jurgen was the first manager that shaped Liverpool into a world class successful team in my eyes that went beyond the "almost there" days of Rafa and Suarez. They actually won the fucking lot. Now, I'm going to be patient with whoever comes in, and give them the chance to do something special in their own way, but it just won't be the same. I told myself and others that Klopp would be sticking around for another 2 years when we beat Fulham to the Carabao Cup final a few days ago, and there's more joy to come. I wasn't mentally preparing myself for this until at least summer 2025, or even, next January.
I know, its sports, it's not as serious. But when your club that you support becomes a part of your life, that decides your moods on the weekend depending on the results, when you invest money into supporting the players that bring you so much excitement, its different.

It feels like when Bob Paisley left in '83, but when Bob left because it was promote from within from Shanks in '59 through Kenny in '91 we had a good idea who was going to replace Bob. What Jurgen has done for this football club is amazing, at least on par with Bill and Bob, so if he feels he wants to leave two years early, which is two years more than he originally signed up for, then let the man leave and recharge his batteries. He told us when he first came that he wasn't going to manage for donkeys years, and wanted enough time to have a good few years with his family before he kicks the bucket. It's sad to see him go but the memories will remain forever. Good luck Jurgen in whatever you do, and you put a massive smile on my face for the best part of 9 years.
