Especially against city, giving your all, losing the title by 1 point. Then having to push yourself and your players to get up and go again next season, even though you just gave a title winning performance the year before. It’s not easy. City are seriously hard to complete with.

At the end of the day he is probably feeling he is getting burnt out at this point and feels he needs a new challenge to rejuvenate himself. As Klopp says he hasn’t the energy and feels he isn’t the man to continue the next phase. He has won every trophy and probably feels he can’t do any more as he always gives 100% emotionally. He also lost his mother during covid and couldn’t even attend the funeral. Sometimes life gets in the way and the grieving process might have only just hit him. He knows the time is right for him and his family. A great manager with a great philosophy. However we are LFC and will still continue to work towards the bastions of invincibility and belief that was laid down by Shanks,Paisley,Dalglish et al

@@JeffQuartey, oh man, can you even imagine what that must feel like, to lose your mother and to not be able to go to her funeral and grieve losing her, having to force yourself to focus on work? Work always having to be more important than anyone or anything else? Uff... I think the PL is also especially tough, with players and coaching staff never having a real break, going on int'l tours in between seasons, working on transfers, planning and doing pre-season training ... PLUS the stress and tight schedule of the regular season.... it's a hell of a lot.

I think he was never the same after that last game of the season against Wolves in the 21/22 season.
I feel thats where he realised that no matter what he and the team does, competing with City is a near on impossible task year in year out.
To be that perfect and miss out on the title twice by a point must be real hard to take as a manager and a footballer!
Can you imagine how hard it must have been to try and galvanize the team after that Wolves game!
"Hey guys...same again next season??...Work your arses off be perfect, but you probably still won't win a title because that lot are impenetrable...See you next season hey!"

i agree what you say - makes sense and i am sorry to say that Liverpool could easily beat City the bitter pill to swallow is the officiating - that kills off a genuine race - it has to be impartial across the board
but how blessed and lucky are that we got Jurgen Klopp the best ever and sheer box office - he is more then a football manager - unique and rare - the funny thing is that his personality is so excubriant and authentic and does not want the light oh him - but the love out there for him is as authentic and people want to show him - heart is broken - feels like grief.
thank God he's given us time to process it - it would too much of a shock - if it is not already.

Gutted that he's going but i have so much respect for him that he stayed to get things back on track. He could have jumped ship when things got rough but hes not that type of manager - this team and those players and LFC fans mean so much to him. I think people under estimate the immense pressure he's been under the past 8 1/2 years. When we lose he takes accountability. He takes it all on his shoulders. It must be hard even when things are going well theres the added expectation then and pressurr ylto keep going. Lets give him the best support until the very end and hopefully have another parade so he can see us all together one last time before he goes. YNWA Jurgen ❤.

Jurgen Klopp has been by far FSG's BEST EVER signing - WOW how lucky have Liverpool been to get Jurgen Klopp to sail their ship.
One incredible, unique, wonderful man with a great sense of humour, integrity - which is very rare - speaks openly and honestly - most folks are not capable of hearing the truth
His football has been and is the most exciting to watch - sheer BOX OFFICE - I love how he loves LIverpool fans and how they love him back - I have never ever seen this type of genuine relationship with a manager and fans - this one is bourne out of mutual love for football, their players, and each other - their City.
    Sheer joy!!
I felt my heart was ripped out today - i didnt realise how much I love Jurgen Klopp - thank you for the best ever football i've loved watching - even last season - i was still with my beloved LFC - there is magic when he is about.
The amount of comebacks - yes Barcelona - i cried after the game - all those comeback..wow!
Danke Jurgen Klopp - you give your heart and soul 100% - 100% of the time,
It has been a day I have been dreading and hoping it would be in a couple of years time.
Your choice is fully respected even if I dont like.
I love how you take care of your boys, your team, your club, your City and they give that love back to you.

In 2018, a distant echo reached my ears from across the Atlantic, whispering of a team in red that transcended the boundaries of a sport. It wasn't just about goals or victories; it was about principles, fairness, and doing things right. Liverpool FC emerged, adorned with names like Salah, Milner, Henderson, Robertson, Mane, and Firmino - a symphony of talents guided by the maestro himself, Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp isn't just a manager; he is an architect of dreams, weaving threads of energy, positivity, and belief into the very fabric of Liverpool. In the alleys of Anfield, a transformation unfolded - not just of a team but of a city, a fan base, and a mindset. Each match was a brushstroke on a canvas, crafting a masterpiece of resilience and camaraderie.
And today, as Klopp announces his departure to us, I reflect on a journey that transcended the boundaries of football. His legacy isn't just the trophies, but the spirit, the fight, and the indomitable will to stand up for what's right. In every cheer from the Kop, in every chant echoing through the city, Klopp's impact reverberates-a testament to the enduring power of a team that plays not just with skill, but with heart.
As the final whistle approaches, I honor and celebrate the man who infused not just a game, but a way of life, with his artistry. Klopp, the conductor of dreams, will leave behind a symphony that will echo through the hallowed corridors of Anfield and beyond, inspiring generations to come.
    You'll Never Walk Alone ♥️

Makes players want to run through brick walls for the cause of whatever club hes at and as football fans we would all love to have a manager the makes the fans know their club is in the hamds of a guy that makes sure the fans arent short changed and also witnessing high energy blistering attacking football. Mainz, Dortmund & Liverpool he gets everyone on board cos hes a fuckin colossal leader. Ive got no skin in the game as such asbim a Millwall fan but as a football fan i love how he plays full throttle attacking football and the way he got the fans and the city. Im gettjng straight on Bet 365 and lumping on Liverpool to blitz their way through every competition as the players are gonna give even more than they do to send him off as a bigger hero than he already is. It's not good for Liverpool that Klopp is quitting. All the clubs and players got worse when he left the club. To this day, Dortmund has not become as good as it was under Klopp. Mainz is still stagnating today. Klopp players who went to other clubs never reached their old high level again. Best example Mane. There is perhaps only one coach at the moment who can keep Liverpool at their current level and that is Alonso from Leverkusen. Greetings from Germany

My head went soon as saw the news I wasn’t mentally prepared for it I was mentally prepared for 26 but not now 😭 this man has brought the best memories of my lifetime other than 05, will forever be grateful to him for everything he’s done, it’s like a relationship breakup where one is like don’t go please I love you and their like I love you too but it’s for the best for me and you even tho we don’t agree with it 🥲 he’s made us a powerhouse again and reinstated us at the top and not just by name, the thanking and send off will be unbelievable! I’m little surprised he doesn’t want to do another ucl season try win that again but I’m sure he’ll wanna go all out for every trophy we need to win another prem under him he needs to experience that in a full stadium we owe him that at least surely?

Even when you leave, my heart will remain at Anfield. 9 years of dedicated passion, emotion, glory, tears of joy and sometimes of sadness. And Rock N Roll. It honestly felt like that moment where he connected directly with us was the cake and the match was the icing. A privilege.

As a German and a Liverpool supporter, I get how devastating Klopps announcement has been for everyone. I respect him for acknowledging his exhaustion and taking it seriously instead of pushing through. He'll be leaving the club when it and the team are at the top of their game. He gave it all he had and together with the club, players and fans achieved a tremendous amount. What a legacy! After he takes a good long break which he's absolutely deserved after nearly 25 years as a football manager, I am pretty sure EVERYONE in Germany's football community are praying /expecting / betting on for him to become the next manager of the German national team; that's a given. There's incredible pressure and media circus surrounding that position, but also the greatest honor and biggest challenge, the pinnacle of any career in German football. He'll need all the strength and mental fortitude he can muster. At the same time, maybe he won't take on the Germany job and decide to just enjoy the rest of his life with his wife and friends and family. I'm in my 50s and have lost several friends my age. We never know how long we've got. Any which way, Jürgen deserves a break.

He will become our national manager. He always mentioned how it was his dream job. Can't wait to see his impact on the DFB, because one Thing is for certain, Klopp isn't Just going to coach a team, he is going to change the whole structure and will overhaul everything.
He is the only person I can think of who can re-engage the German football fans with their national team. We all fell out of love watching people who obviously didn't care about wearing our flag on their chest.

SKY are terrible for bigging up Managers and players Alonso is 4 points clear So fucking what !? If anyone is mentioning the above then Unai Emery is seriously being overlooked because he is well ahead of them all.

Not surprised the poor guy is tired of football politics and can't get excited about going through another season with the BS going on.. some clubs seem to constantly get away with breaking rules and this leaves no opportunities for other clubs to compete..if it wasn't for a certain club klopp would have won atleast a couple more titles and probably would of stayed another ten years..but how can you get motivated year after year knowing your going to be cheated out of another title..

@holmbjerg neither of them are anywhere near Klopps level and haven’t achieved anything as managers in the game. It’s insulting to hear our own fellow Liverpool fans bringing up names when we are mid season and the greatest manager we’ve had for 50 years is still doing his job. Alonso and De zerbi are miles behind and nobody can tell me different. I like Xabi, but he doesn’t have the personality for this job yet. Let Klopp leave and finish his job before we replace him with someone with far less experience or skill as a coach.
It’s embarrassing to hear so called legends like carragher talking absolute nonsense about his replacement already.

I have a theory on why now... I think it's true what Jürgen said about his energy, but I also think that if LFC want the next best thing - A guy that the club and players respect, and a guy that the supporters would accept as the next step, then there's only very few options, and Xabi Alonso is on the top of that very short list.
My theory is that if they want to secure him, then it had to be now. Otherwise he would end up at Real Madrid or Bayern for the next 5+ years, and we would have to accept a more risky solution on all accounts.
