Awesome video! I have a question though - my second base iso seems to be at 10000 instead of 12800. This is on slog 3 on both HD and 4K. I cannot figure out why mine is different - have you heard of this before or know why that is?
Well that's just odd. So you're saying noise cleans up for you at 10,000 instead of 12,800? I hear preproduction model that RUclipsrs used had second base iso at 16000 and now its 12800. Where did you get your a7s3 from? Do the other base isos respond correctly? slog 2 react 640/12800 HLG 100/2000 or no profile 80/1600. Are you using PP8 and making sure its Gamma is Slog3.
@@MelonTL_YH2 Yes I tried some of the other profiles as well including gammas slog2, cine2, HLG3 and they all clean up one ISO level earlier. I did use PP8 before with gamma set to slog3. I’m from South Africa and bought it here brand new from a very reputable camera shop. Also tried changing from PAL to NTSC with the same result. Filmed with it quite a bit already but did not find any issues with it. Not sure if I should be worried or not but it is confusing things a bit - I wonder if the first base iso’s are different on mine too
@@TheArtist441 weird, maybe do a factory reset and update the camera if you havent already. i'd contact sony support because that's a very weird anomaly. To me, it feels beneficial since you dont have to raise iso so high to get to base iso but I imagine it's the same noise just comes earlier I guess now.

record start/stop does not work with the Moza Air gimbal cable to Micro USB of the A7S3. The start-stop remote control works with the older A7S2 (two). Does something need to be changed in the menu? All I really need to know is which of the two inputs (USB micro or USB C) is the one that can be used to control the Rec function with a wired remote control (similar to the SmallRig handle with trigger).
Hey Gerry, I don't have a Moza so not sure sorry.
meanwhile I use a remote control of SmallRig and do not use the cable of the Moza Air gimbal.

Need help : What does the white vertical line mean when focusing in photo mode:
I've had the camera for about 3 months now and various function/key assignments (C1,2,3,4...and Fn) (previously A7S2 since 2016).
Now I don't know what the white vertical line that appears on the left of the display when I press the shutter button to focus means. It always remains visible, even when the camera has focused (green dot). The line is about 2/3 as long as the display is high. What setting can this be due to?
Thanks Gerry, sorry not sure what that could be, I only use the camera for video at the moment - but I just checked mine and I don't get a white line in photo mode when focusing.
the line shows how many pictures you can still take in continuous mode (continuous run up to 1000 RAW pictures)
the line becomes shorter during continuous burst shooting
