+1for Ethnos, also. I’ve upgraded ( in my mind) from the discs. I’m not a big fan of those, nor some in pastel colors. I think that is where the clash comes in it’s game appearance. Instead, I went with some sharp looking metal cubes, plus some scoring figures that match some of the card art. Very much, I look forward to learning and playing Great Western Trails! Thanks for all the knowledge you share about this great hobby!
I think so far I've played lighter strategy games, but I'm dying to dive into something more complex and challenging. Thanks for the selection presented here. Ruins of Arnak and Western trails are going to my list.
You mentioned that the expansion(s) is essential too for Kingsburg ... but it looks like there are 11 expansions... is there one or two you were thinking of?
It's the 2009 Expansion: To Forge a Realm. This expansion provides tokens for reinforcements that you use in Winter instead of rolling the die. You can find all the cool additions in this expansion here: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/39775/kingsburg-forge-realm
Interesting: I wonder where the line is for most gamers. I try to use the weight scale at BGG as a general guide, but even that has different influencing factors. Thanks for the feedback!
Oh, I have always wanted to learn how to play Great Western Trail, but I have tried watching play throughs and I'm so confused... Maybe some day!

Awesome suggestion for Ethnos:)

Such good picks for amping up your game just a little bit:)
I see a crokinole board and I click like!
+1 to Ethnos! Also, that's a great looking Crokinole board :D
Indeed it is!
Great western trail is definitely on the tipping point to light heavy.
I think so, too. Offering a variety, so to speak, of light medium to heavy medium games hopefully will satisfy those interested? :)
@@TabletopTolson yeah I agree. It was a great video. Was also hoping to see some flicking too
@@shortydancer Oh, you'll get to see a playthrough of a new flicking game with me and Louis on March 1! Mark your calendar:)
Fun topic!
Arnak was the same thing after the third play so I sold it. Dune is still really fun for my group though.
I hear the expansion for Arnak offers more dynamic play! Spielbox gave it a 10/10...
zamn that shelf behind lewis looks like it's about to collapse
It actually is collapsed and resting on the games below 😂

Just get the new edition. It has everything including the extra buildings so it's more replayable.
This is just what i needed in my life!!! Your content deserves a service like P r o m o S M!
GWT is no way, even close to be a mid-weight. it's heavy
