I have learned more from you ina month than i have in 35 years of owning a piano. Partly because I have spent more time on it, but only because you inspire me. Finding inversions is a GOLD MINE. I used to play chords only in the root position. Inversions make transition from chord to chord so much easier. AND... The different voicings of each position give music so much more color.
I love coming back to fundamental things like this. Back to the basics, but they can be so soothing... it reinforces autonomic skills and allows free flowing experimentation with expression and so many other accents. This is the good, healthy, nourishing practice that makes for more robust playing down the road.
This is perfect for me! I hate my lessons because i don’t really care for theory and reading music right now. I’d rather continue composing with some new found skills at my own pace 🙏🏾
I've been learning on your program for a year now and just learnt the sustain pedal lol..Learning scales and inversions as you asked. I found this video and will keep an eye out for more quick tutorials. Thank you Lisa. You are the best teacher.
Thank you ! She's SOOO GOOD! LIKE LAWDY! Every time I come back for more I play with the lesson and usually after three passes I'm in there and the fact that it's instant satisfaction.. totally awesome. ADHD super teacher. Everyone else I get bored because the lessons are dragged out and filled with fluff.
Thank you for share yourself with us. You are Magic on progression, going on. Feel that I am in a better place while receiving what you give. Life is better.
Ms Witt .. past midnight ... of several tutorials ... inversion techniques from your mentoring version has elevated my my muscle memory to the next level ... I am from Malaysia ... just wondering which part of the world are you ... USA or UK ... once back then 5 decade ago I spent 3 years in Kansas City Missouri USA ... Thank you immensely .... you are a great online tutor .. without doubt... the best ...
Hi I love this it wants me to start practising am going to use this video to master this . When you was playing I could here a lead I would add . Thank you for sharing 👍👍
This is the best video tutorial for beginners. The way you teach is beautiful and fentastic. I had no second thoughts to like your video and subscribe your channel….
LOVED the background accompaniment as it helps you to learn to play with other musicians!!! Also, helps to keep the tempo/beat/rhythm even!!!! Thank you for posting these amazing videos!! 🎹
For the first time , I found a simple ..very understandable ..way to study chords variations that I could use to accompany our simple sing-along,....THANK YOU very kindly ...from the heart ...for making me very happy ...❤❤❤
Hello fried 🎼~ I made to the 1/2 point, (5:33) And i'm using both hands and three fingers with the treble. Or right, and two fingers on the bass, left, playing the full-octave; [AA - GG - CC - & - FF] This thing is a trip 🎹, and its a little tricky, playing broken chords, backwards ⚡plus - so far at (5:33) the student/me needs to be aware of 12, unique chord-structures, so i wrote them all out though we only play 8, of them. We need to know all 12, of the "inversions" relative to these 4, particular chords, to really understand it. But if you do 👁~ It's Awesome 👏~ I like it, its beautiful 😉~ Almost magical 🧙♂ Maybe one day if i keep working on it, i'll make it to the end. 🎹~ 🙇...
It’s a pitty that I can enjoy your talent only with free lessons, because as a retired employe I got no budget to dedicate it to pay for all the treasure you got. God bless you always, and I’ll follow you.. Thanks for all. Yo
I don't think you NEED the paid lessons to be able to get there. They give you enough in the free lessons, it'll just take practicing and dedication. Eventually, you'll come to understand the patterns and inversions. I've never taken a paid lesson of any kind and only started learning a few years ago, but nothing in this video was new information as I had already figured this out myself independently. However, it confirmed my understanding of chord structure.
Aaa 🙈~ I made to (9:36) ... (0:31) seconds shy ☺~ It is the moment where you jump down two octaves - into the A-minor root position. 🙌~ I just have a little keyboard 🎹~ I only have 4-A's, ... & though the right-hand is fine🤚~ My left hand 🖐 only had one A-left on the board, ... and I wasn’t sure what to do 🤦♂~ . . . 😅lol Though i think 🤔 i am now. I'll just play what i can, then move to all 4 A's at end, the same way you do. 🙏~ I almost got it - perhaps i should practice it, 12 + 1, more times 😉~ . . . And just so you know - there are moments when i actually look 👀 and sound kinda like a piano player 🎹~ Go figure In fact. It is by far 🙇~ The most "elegant-thing" 🥇~ I have ever done ✅~ SO! Again-13 times
Wonderful. I never learn played piano. I am 68 years old. My dr advise to learn piano to remain mentally well. Do you think I can ever learn these wonderful inversions!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, but I'm going to have to be coming back to the vídeos as I can never learn anything on the first try. You go at a very slow pace (which is NICE!), yet I can't keep up. It's frustrating!!!
Hello, can someone please answer if i play the same chords with the left hand like the right hand is it wrong? Like i do not keep the bass, lC with the 1 finger and C with the 5 finger i play the normal C chord with the left hand also. I like how it sounds better i am just curious if its the wrong way of playing piano
@PianoteOfficial HI! I Love your videos they are super easy to follow and very helpful! I have trouble following most piano tutorials but I have no problem understanding yours! I was wondering if maybe you could please do some tutorials for songs that I was hoping to learn they are: "Sanctuary After the Battle", "Don't Think Twice", and "Simple and Clean" all by Hikaru Utada. "The Other Promise", "Naminés Theme", "Vector to the Heavens", "Riku's theme", and "Dearly Beloved" all from Kingdom Hearts. Also "Wave Goodbye" and "Maritime Memory" from Splatoon. I know you probably can't do all of these but Wave Goodbye, Sanctuary, and The Other Promise in particular I would like to learn. Thanks! Have a great day! God bless you!

Awesome class as always Lisa! But the background music is a bit distracting :
Yes, a volume lower is required of bgm
Thanks for the feedback!
Respectfully disagree. The background brought this to life for me!
@@gtnarg It seems that younger people always need background music. Weird but seemingly true.
Well I like it ❤
Great 👍
I like and need it
