I think we need to lay out an explanation on why the loading times demonstrated here with the Crash Bandicoot games via BC doesn't match Sony's promises of "lightning speed" on PS5. You see, the near-instant loading times that Sony aims to demonstrate with the PS5 is accomplished mainly by TWO things: the solid state drive (SSD) we hear so much about AND an integrated I/O pipeline system that's specifically optimized for it. I/O pipelining is pretty much how data gets pushed and pulled into memory. And it reacts to how the game compresses and decompresses its files and how it designs its memory layouts. It's thus up to the developers to utilize it well, and according to many, the custom integration of the I/O system on PS5 make it easier to utilize its fullest potential. But the thing is, the full potential of the I/O system paired with the SSD can only be seen on games that are specifically tailored for the PS5 in mind, such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Many tech analysts confirmed that the emulator for PS4 games can't utilize the custom I/O system, simply because they're not programmed in ways to predict that speed. It can't drastically change the memory layouts of PS4 games nor the way files gets decompressed. Thus, improvements in load times for PS4 games can only be marginally better on PS5 than you would get on PS4 Pro with a good SSD. Unless the Crash Bandicoot games we tested here get proper PS5 ports or even get a patch so to alter the memory layouts, this shouldn't represent what the PS5 is actually capable of. So, off with the snarky comments, please. Thank you. -WumpaGem
So TLDR: game engines need to be tailor made to properly utilize SSD data streaming ala the Insomniac Spiderman games. Since it seems like Crash 4 was made in unreal 4 (not sure if that was officially stated, but it seems to be Toys for Bob's engine of choice currently), the technology isn't built for it yet. Probably UE 5, but that's not public yet. It would still be cool to see next-gen patches for some of these games to better utilize the SSDs speed, though.

Dose CTR run at 60fps on ps5
No
No, it runs at a locked 30fps. The video here is 60fps for Crash 4's sake, but N-Sane and CTR-NF still run at 30.
I am still waiting for crash 4 et ctr on pc here...
CTR? I've got no faith (and I'm sad about it, since I double-dipped NST on PC) but there's a good chance Crash 4 makes it next year
Interesting how CTR still has pretty long loading times lol
It is understandable, have seen how much stuff are in those tracks lol
@@robertrivera5569 then I guess they added too much stuff
@@robertrivera5569 it really isn't, the game has some of the worst load optimization I've seen.
so the load times are faster the graffics are the same
nice
I stopped playing CTR because of the loading times
The PS5 is a lot faster then the PS4 if you compare them in procents. It is no where near as much of an improvement as Sony promised but it is unfair to say that it is not worth anything. In some of the examples the PS5 was almost twice as fast for example the times in CTR home to main menu went from 32.5 to 16.8 seconds.
Also, it depends on the developer actually making an upgrade
WOW imagine the times on series x!
It'll be very similar
Vaya que avansado es la PS5 O_o
Man I just wasted time looking a loading scenes.......
Does this mean Crash n.sane trilogy is released on ps5?
It's already technically released on the PS5 via the PS Plus Collection, but you can also play your PS4 copy on PS5
@@Motwera Wow. It means we are back in the good old ps2 times.
Wait I thought the ps5 didn’t have loading screens?
This would be the case if the game is optimized specifically for the PS5, or even has been already optimized previously to have as little loading time as possible
Anyone knows if Crash 4 runs at 60fps on PS5?
It runs at 60 fps on ps4
@@-Lola. PS4 Pro* :)
@@thegoldenwithatie Oh, that makes sense. That’s what I have. If that’s the case then yes, without a doubt it runs at 60 fps on a ps5
GalacticHypernova I wouldn’t know, I own a pro model
I WAS looking a vídeo like this
Now graphics comparison
And these are without patches? Well, ones we know of anyways
I wanna know this too, I’d imagine without the PS5 load patches but could be wrong
YES, This is without loading time patches. The upload patch has yet to arrive ;)
i dont think we will get any patches
I really wish they could/would unlock the framerate on PS5 at least for this. I heard it is 60 fps on PC so they should already have the code for it.
I can confirm it's 60 FPS on PC and it looks great. Humble had this offer once where you could subscribe to their monthly thing they do (don't know the name) for $12, and that month you could get Crash N Sane, Spyro Reignited, and CoD WWII for $12 to keep forever. Of course I jumped on it (for Crash and Spyro).
Lol CTR loading times still aren't great but hey we'll take it!
More, please
Do one for Series X. These games are on Xbox too.
We can absolutely do that, we just need someone to send us a Series X first.
@@timvandermeij8029
Hope to see it in the future.
@@micshork Hey I wouldn't say no to a free Series X!
@@timvandermeij8029 Looking forward to when you eventually get one
Se ve que la PS5 carga mas rapido que la PS4 [PRO] saludos crashy!
