I'm not going to lie, I started watching this channel to help my cooking but now I watch this channel because it always puts a smile on my face. If the chef had no culinary skill he could have been a comedian. He's blessed to be a savant in both fields.

I have had no better teacher. Chef Jean-Pierre makes me want to cook the next dish. With each lesson, I improve. What were once random recipe instructions begin to emerge with pattern; so---for example---a mirepoix becomes familiar with every application. Lessons seem to stick and hold (e.g., "remember, the size of the slice determines the size of the slice"). Some theater? Ya. The theater works; it adds charm and entertainment and imbeds the memory of the lesson. With the theater, a growing respect for a teacher whose theater informs the intensity of their lesson.
I made this soup for my family tonight and 2 of them said it's the most delicious soup they have ever had. Thanks Jean Pierre

I didnt know how to do an onion correctly for all my years until you mentioned dont cut against the grain--unless onion rings in a recent video. Then it finally clicked and made sense in my head. I thank you

I just made this soup. It is delicious. The only change that I made was, I didn’t add the cream. After blending and adding the cheese, I felt it was creamy enough and the flavor of each of the vegetables could be tasted. I love this soup. This one will from here forward will be on my Thanksgiving menu.

I think if you placed the pot on the cutting board it would help deaden the sound. Having the pot on the metal grate of the stove causes the metal to metal noise it's making 😊

Thank you Chef for this recipe, I never thought I would like this type of soup. Then my husband picked this butternut from the store I looked at him as if he had 2 heads... LOL He doesn't like any squash... then he made this soup. oh BOY - I think I'm going to have to exercising more. Thank you Chef for re-creating my husband back to the guy I married 30+ years ago. I am watching your videos from quite some time. Though my cousine is very different from this but I like enjoying your videos.
I have a suggestion, you roast the sweet potato in pan. Just wash it, put it in pan, cover the lid and leave it for about an hour and half on very slow flame. Try it. It caramelize the sugar in sweet potato. It tastes delicious.

This recipe has tto have the biggest shot of Vit A. I never thought of adding curry seasoning, but you are the Chef! I always have Indian spices because the Covid Sham made me try the recipes (cumin/corriander are in my pantry).
The chef made me laugh with an industrial-size immersion blender. So funny. This soup is great! Best I have ever had. You can't get such goodness in the supermarket. Ya gotta find a place that has big vegetables.

Looks delicious! I love butternut and sweet potatoes together with other root vegetables, but never thought of including cauliflower! Even though, we do make cauliflower soup just like this and top with white truffles.

I’m making this tonight, I forgot the leeks at the store, so I used a couple radishes. 😆. I substituted cream, can’t do… used coconut milk. It is very sweet carrot taste, so you might use the curry an hot sauce. Very nice!

I've been watching cooking shows ever since Julia Childs and Chef Pierre is my most favorite cook of all time. Not only is his recipes and dishes the absolute best in the world, but his excitement while bringing a dish together and his wonderful sense of humor are above all the rest. I wish I could have enjoyed some of his dishes, I would consider that a great honor.

I love to roast the squash seeds. If it was me, I'd add some of the roasted seeds but chopped onto the top as an additional garnish but that is just me tough!

Your comment about it needs to spend enough time on your tongue to taste it, hits home. I think this is why i like thick and creamy soups rather than chicken noodle or beef.
