I'm not going to lie, I started watching this channel to help my cooking but now I watch this channel because it always puts a smile on my face. If the chef had no culinary skill he could have been a comedian. He's blessed to be a savant in both fields.
So help me.. Jean and Jack.. my family loves you guys so much!!!!!!!! You bring such joy and laughter in our life. Two weeks ago today our family of 11 became 12 (baby boy) we see him as one more Jean and Jack fan in the making!! ❤❤ Four generations in one house and we all sit and watch at the very least one episode per night. 😅 Love from your Alabama family!!
I didnt know how to do an onion correctly for all my years until you mentioned dont cut against the grain--unless onion rings in a recent video. Then it finally clicked and made sense in my head. I thank you
My brother-in-law sent me this link--what a hoot this chef is! I've been making soups for over 50 years, and I learned A LOT from him--plus, heaven bless anyone who shows excitement and joy about cooking. This site is a keeper!! Thanks Will.
Soups are always very comforting in the bad season. And with a Chernobil onion, it's a marvel. Thank you Jean-Pierre for these regular recipes and your natural kindness.
The best gift from my Mother-In-law was my Imersion Blender 10 yrs ago ❤! Pumpkin soup is my specialty.. Now I have to make THIS 😊❤! TY Chef Jean-Pierre ❤❤❤
I gotta get one of those boat motor immersion blenders. Overkill for the home chef? Yes. Yes it is and I need one. Happy Thanksgiving Chef! And Happy Thanksgiving to all of the awesome viewers!!
I have had no better teacher. Chef Jean-Pierre makes me want to cook the next dish. With each lesson, I improve. What were once random recipe instructions begin to emerge with pattern; so---for example---a mirepoix becomes familiar with every application. Lessons seem to stick and hold (e.g., "remember, the size of the slice determines the size of the slice"). Some theater? Ya. The theater works; it adds charm and entertainment and imbeds the memory of the lesson. With the theater, a growing respect for a teacher whose theater informs the intensity of their lesson.
Please read this short missive, fellow aspiring home (or pro) chefs: This man TEACHES us - genetically - HOW to cook. Overall. You will take with you, from his instructions on WHY and HOW taste is formed on the tongue, with you forevermore throughout all of your cooking days - and nights! What a gem. A National Treasure: Chef Jean-Pierre!
You are so delightful, I throughly enjoy watching your show and try your recipes!!! They are always delicious and comforting food for my family and friends 😊 Thank you Chef Jean!!! Happy Holidays 🎉🎉🎉
Chef, I just made this soup. It is delicious. The only change that I made was, I didn’t add the cream. After blending and adding the cheese, I felt it was creamy enough and the flavor of each of the vegetables could be tasted. I love this soup. This one will from here forward will be on my Thanksgiving menu. Thank you Chef, I love your videos.
I'm thrilled about this! A huge thank you, Chef, for everything you do. You hold a special place in our household, and I'm so grateful for the way you make our meals extraordinary xoxoxox
Chef, I have improving my cooking style with your recipes, do the soups with your recipe stock is another level!!!! Sometimes I have to change some ingredients because I cant find easy in México but, you are funny and amazing !!! Definetely I'm in love with you. ❤❤❤
Chef your amazing!! I just love your videos. I cant wait for your next one. Ive been in food service for many years and love to learn about food. Not only do you teach us but you make it down to earth for average joe people. You make cooking fun. Dont change anything you do. We love yoU!!!

Love you Chef! Your enthusiasm and joy make our day! Very contagious 😊 Thankful for you this Thanksgiving season. Happy & blessed Thanksgiving my friend! You are the best! ❤
We are soup fanatics. Thank you for this one Chef JP. ps, everyone who cooks large needs the industrial immersion blender, seriously, it would save so much time
Thanks so much for sharing your soup secrets with us, chef! You are so real and hilarious, but helpful and encouraging. Us normal people feel like we’re able to actually follow these recipes. Just the best!!
This recipe has tto have the biggest shot of Vit A. I never thought of adding curry seasoning, but you are the Chef! I always have Indian spices because the Covid Sham made me try the recipes (cumin/corriander are in my pantry).
Hello Chef from Pennsylvania! Love your show! I’m making your butternut Thanksgiving soup from last year…can’t wait. I would love a show on turnips! We grow them here in Pennsylvania and they are ready to harvest fall crop. Strange root vegetables definitely acquired taste! Bit of a challenge to master but I have faith in you. Thank you 🙏
This soup / bisque is amazing, made it for my extended family, for the Saturday dinner to avoid to much turkey leftovers. Hearty and so filling. Thank you Chef.
Hi !! Chef Jean Happy Thursday 😊 what a delightful looking soup 🍲 so smooth and silky.. all the vegetables up put in the soup are my favorite. Cheese , bacon 🥓 will.be delicious for the topping. You are such a gentle soul . I love ❤️ how you take out the time an explain every recipe. Blessings to you Chef. I will be making this soup after Thanksgiving.. Thank you for this recipe. Broke my own rule & prepped same day-I ate dinner at 7:00pm and worth it! I halved it Thanksgiving Day & have 8 servings in the freezer already, plus some out for the next 4 days. 🥕🧄🧅
I love soups, I also clean up the veggies from the fridge and end up with delicious soups. I love your presentation Chef J P. My husband was crazy about presentation to the point that he stressed me out when I cooked for company, 😅, May he rest in peace.
I've been watching cooking shows ever since Julia Childs and Chef Pierre is my most favorite cook of all time. Not only is his recipes and dishes the absolute best in the world, but his excitement while bringing a dish together and his wonderful sense of humor are above all the rest. I wish I could have enjoyed some of his dishes, I would consider that a great honor.
Chef, I am watching your videos from quite some time. Though my cousine is very different from this but I like enjoying your videos. I have a suggestion, you roast the sweet potato in pan. Just wash it, put it in pan, cover the lid and leave it for about an hour and half on very slow flame. Try it. It caramelize the sugar in sweet potato. It tastes delicious. Much love. ❤
I have used many of your Thanksgiving recipes over the years and have loved them all. I always make sure to make the soup recipe no matter what to take over to Friendsgiving and it is always a big hit. Thanks for all that you do Chef. The knowledge and love that you spread through your cooking is truly remarkable. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and god bless.

I think if you placed the pot on the cutting board it would help deaden the sound. Having the pot on the metal grate of the stove causes the metal to metal noise it's making 😊
Thank you! Just the inter soup I was looking for! For thanksgiving, I made a chutney to stir in that was pretty bright green, hot, crunchy, and zesty - just a little dollop in the middle for contrast. From an old gourmet magazine: Toss in a blender - 1 jalapeño seeded & quartered (wear gloves!) Juice of 1/2 lime 1/2 C slivered almonds 1 C fresh cilantro (no stems) Whirl until blended into course chutney. I set it out for guests as a condiment to add as they liked. :) Bon appetit 👩🍳
Hi Jean-Pierre, I like to prepare different kind of creamy-soups but this one looks absolutely very...Yummy Yummy 😋 I think it’s delicious. I’m looking forward to try it. Thank you very much for the recipe and have a nice day! All the best wishes, Maria 🇬🇧🇷🇴🤗❤️👩🍳👏💁♀️
Nice, However, I would leave it Hardy. and make Both, smooth, they 're both wonderful thanks, Chef..😋Balanced the broth, veggies. is the key, thank you!
Looks delicious! I love butternut and sweet potatoes together with other root vegetables, but never thought of including cauliflower! Even though, we do make cauliflower soup just like this and top with white truffles. Another masterpiece!
Hmm. Great idea! Add all the vegetables. Making squash soups in the past, I've always just focused with one vegetable, but this idea seems much cooler! Gonna do it!
Hello Chef, I cant begin to tell you how much my wife and I look forward to your shows, this soup looks fantastic, actually everything you make is fantastic, I will make this soup and I know it will be a big hit, take care Chef and God Bless you.
Dear @Jean-Pierre, I have watched few of your videos and they are indeed impressive and I picked up few tips and tricks. You also got good sense of humor. Just few opinion, I like your recipe, may suggest you try roast all the veggie before cooking it with the stock? When you roast the vegetable you give it a much more intense taste. I also would suggest you try with coconut cream and add some Lime zest and Lime Juice. This is because the Butternut squash is sweet, and adding some citrus it creates a different layer in the soup. Once again thanx for the great recipe.
I’m making this tonight, I forgot the leeks at the store, so I used a couple radishes. 😆. I substituted cream, can’t do… used coconut milk. It is very sweet carrot taste, so you might use the curry an hot sauce. Very nice!
Thank you Chef for this recipe, I never thought I would like this type of soup. Then my husband picked this butternut from the store I looked at him as if he had 2 heads... LOL He doesn't like any squash... then he made this soup. oh BOY - I think I'm going to have to exercising more. Thank you Chef for re-creating my husband back to the guy I married 30+ years ago. And the reason I said Yes 😄
Thanks Chef JP. This soup has Class (same as all your dishes). The cheddar mixed in, the shredded carrots and the cauliflower florets at the end! Oh and the hint of curry! Class written all over it. Will be making it this weekend (and many more times in the future).

Chef, Jean Pierre makes a bad day good and a good day great with each and every video.
The soup looks amazing, and I gotta say this episode will make for some good bloopers. The immersion blender situation and the tasting were gold 🤣
