Hey Jeff when (The Month of 1984) did you put out your first demo? I know Necrophagia put out their first demo, Death is Fun.... came out in May of 1984. For me Possessed, Death, and Necrophagia started it all. Thanks for keeping it going and I really like Revelations of Oblivion. Hope I can find your Live at Graspop 2012 cd on Ebay oneday
In most Possessed documentaries don't mention Jeff's crippling and put into a wheelchair caused from being shot by 2 crackheads when they were robbing him. He said he was left bleeding and scared and loss of his legs under a car waiting to die. J.B. is a true hero!
Good shit, man. Thanks! Seven Churches is like a rad fucking scar on my body from 86, never seen or known about by anyone I know anymore. I still touch it sometimes and remember every jagged edge devilishly.
I always believed Beyond The Gates was superior to Seven Churches. & Jeff Becerra is the biggest badass in all of HM. What a triumphant return to form.
Great doc on this crucial band. They had the song “Death Metal” but probably didn’t coin the word. it is generally accepted that this was the first Death Metal band , the lines are blurred somewhat because Possessed played some top shelf thrash metal with technical prowess and raw evil edge in lyrical content. The artwork was always awesome and had the ups down cross/occult themes that made those records prime SatanicPanic fuel. Death Metal to me back then late 80s defined by the low guttereal and indecipherable vocals, downtuned guitar , double bass drum and blast beats . Venom,Slayer,Repulsion, Seige, Possesed,Necrophagia, Death ,Cryptic Slaughter, GISM, Rigor Mortis etc influenced bands to push thrash metal to its limits until it became a new style .
Sorry it’s VENOM : I don’t give a shit about the BM sound of today - VENOM launched it - it obviously has progressed from 1980/81 into something faster/ harsher & more sinister : without THE black metal gods you don’t have : POSSESSED/ DEATH/ BATHORY or the rest
Lol Death covered The Exorcist. If Death were the pioneers of Death Metal they wouldn't be covering a song from a band that first stamped their music as Death Metal. I think most metalheads just assume Death started Death Metal because of their name, which is so far from the truth.
What I've learned about people is you can literally have all the proof in the world of something and people will still argue till they're blue in the face. I go by data and documentation. There's literally a documentary about possessed called the creation of death metal. I mean if you listen to that whole first album you will understand why it's apples to oranges different then what was out at the time. And technically they were doing stuff in 1983 and had that term coined. Like I said there's legit documentation.
Well Done, Brother. I can tell you took a great deal of time and effort. ~Jeff/Possessed I am really glad you like our new album so much.

@@watcherzero3032 I think it also was in May. Their first gig was around that time too, late May.
Us fans will always love and respect you, Jeff. 🤘POSSESSED!!!🤘

He said he got shot at by Christians??
I remember in the early eighties magazine Metal Forces from the UK had article on Possessed. I bought the cassette in 1985. 🤘💀
They not death metal
Cool documentary brutha. It shows that you are a true metalhead. Gonna subscribe to your channel right now. Cheers.
I thought the first 2 albums were amazing. I would take those over the entire slayer catalog. The newest cd was a great return to form!
Me to possessed kreator etc I would take over the "big 4" 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
the Godfathers of death metal 🤘
No is not god fathers of death thrash 🔥🔥🔥
Documentaries say different. Every genre starts somewhere. They are Death Metal. Even Jeff says they are.
Such an amazing band
seven churches is the first real death metal album and one of the main proto black metal albums. fucking fight me if u think otherwise.
I agree with everyone you say!
Good shit, man. Thanks! Seven Churches is like a rad fucking scar on my body from 86, never seen or known about by anyone I know anymore. I still touch it sometimes and remember every jagged edge devilishly.

Excellent video! Thanks for sharing this with us!
I like all kinds of music. Good is good regardless of genre. Seven Churches is great.
🔥 POSSESSED 🔥🤘👹🤘🔥🔥🔥
This dude
Great watch! Thanks for posting.
'...solos straight from Satan's asshole...' YOU NAILED IT. Thumbs up³
Lots of footage from Fender's in 87.
Fender's was the epicenter of the scene at that time.
We went there pretty much every weekend
Keep up the good work
Cool video, nice man 🤘
Slayer's Hell Awaits was the real blueprint of death metal.
Great work!
I had 'Seven Churches' back in the day. Along with DEATH Leprosy and EXODUS Bonded by blood etc. SLAYER is the Root of all my Evil though. 🖤
POSSESSED 🤘
7 chuwuches
It's funny because he is deaf!
Seven churches
Great watch! I totally agree on Phantasm and My Belief Also Revelations of Oblivion is indeed amazing
The 80's most under rated thrash band. Easily as good or better than "The Big 4".

Twuck stop baffwoom
I actually think Beyond is better than Seven.

Possessed was like Venom and Slayer but not was DEATH METAL. Listen Mantas'voices. Were more agressive.
😂
Love You, JEFF !
Mantas, Possessed and Master were at the same time but the most original DEATH METAL SOUND was DEATH with Chuck Chuldiner. No debate.
Your opinion, even if it's wrong. Even Chuck Schuldiner proclaimed once that Possessed was the 1st death metal band. No debate.
