Very good match. I though the difference was that Ajla kept the ball consistently a bit deeper than Anastasia, keeping her in the rallies when on the defensive, and limiting Anastasia's opportunities to come forward and put it away.

That ball of Potapova was clearly outside.
It ain't fair to demand too much from a young woman who spent a lot of season out of action, now she's so unlucky with draws, only facing tough opponents and can't make a good streak and even with this little streak she has already improved the 1st service which was really bad a month ago, also the net game has improved. In spite of everything she's certainly one of the best players out of the top 50, without a doubt and I know what I'm saying.

The Russian girls are really good players but they just don't know how to win and never get over the hump. This was another match just like the Moscow final that the Russian should have won.

Ajla Tomljanovic is the most ridiculous player on the whole tour! She is constantly losing matches or putting herself into difficult positions in matches she should win! There is no way this game shouldve gone on this long and her match against Cristian today - 5-1 down in set one, back to 5 all, gets broken again and re breaks. At 6 all in tiebreak, she goes 3- 0 up with serve and loses the set.
She then has 3 chances to close out game 12 in set 2 and gets broken to lose. She is rubbish!!
