In the case of Coco Gauff, that is probably because she is so young and it is already a top 10 player...as for Qinwen Zheng it is a bit less clear why all the hype.

A 500 final (Tokyo) and a 1000 QF (Canada) aren't nothing, but she's not made a real breakthrough yet or sustained any kind of elite level form and the discourse surrounding her doesn't reflect that (IMO).
From the highlight I think Zheng has less fighting spirit than Potapova, and honestly poor shot choices. Just not Zheng's day today. Congratez to Potapova :)
