This is air compressor restoration video, I recorded it step by step the process of restoration.
I hope you find something useful & enjoy from this video!
I am happy to receive your feedbacks, advices, suggestions to improve myself.
!!! I apologize for the mistake if I have made in this restoration !!!
--------------Thank you so much for Likes & Comments--------------
so useful, I love your channel. My grandfather passed and left me his workshop. all of the tools inside are extremely old and most have issues which I fixed with your help. I never realised how simple the insides of some of the most useful tools were.
Thank you so much for loving and sharing! you have very good condition to learn and test about those tools.

fan needs shroud to deflect air around cylinders for proper cooling but great video and to get a thumbs up MR. NVC DIY is saying something thumbs up here as well
+1 on the missing shroud also to protect against things or body parts coming in contact with that fan! Great restoration, though!
Pete Peterson yup
Okay I see, this machine still missed some parts, thank you, sir!
Okay, so I wasn't the only one who thought there was something missing!
I learn from watching you work, then learn more from the collected wisdom of the viewers in the comments. For a lot of guys who grew up in the *single mother wasteland* , this is knowledge that we couldn't get from fathers or grandfathers, but hopefully we can pass along ourselves. RUclips at its best, truly.
Excellent job with the restoration jobs of each video. You know what you are doing and it takes a lot of patience and hard work. That's a lot of work. Taken it apart is easy but putting it back together again it looks very hard. You have to have a good memory to know where everything goes. Excellent work. God bless you.

I love restoration
That's a lovely bit of retro gear and a brill restoration
By watching You restoring those " things" we learn how they work .... You are
💪👍🙏😊
exactly!
taking it apart....check. putting it back together......euhhh yeah right. great job. wish i had the patience to do this myself
Good work.
For me it was a mind relaxing video. I wish I had a workshop
I can feel your effort to make this video. That’s not a simple task as we see. Good luck man. Keep it up 👍👍👍
I would like a lot if the videos have a lowfi beat, just enough to follow the original sound.
But I love the videos anyway
Cheers from Brazil!
No voice over, no close caption? So then this video was done for those who already knows about this kind of stuff. Never the less, thanks for sharing.
I appreciate a very fine attention to detail on a restoration. We need more people like that cause the world could use peoe that rebuild instead of throw away. Everything can be restored to some point. Greatjob
I'm not sure a unit this small really needs casters but, if you insist, you probably should've tacked in a mounting plate for each one in order to fully engage the caster mounting plates and make them more durable. Nice job though! Looks 1000% better.
Great job, bravo.
Not tea bag... not tea bag at all😉 Be safe and test that tank will ya, wouldn’t want a surprise taking your channel down if you get hurt! Great lil light duty compressor has a new life now, enjoy it!
Thank you so much!
I enjoyed watching the video and your interest in all the details of the work. thank you very much. I wish all those working in this field to become like you
Very fast work😲
Good jobs brot👏👌👍🤩😍
Quite an undertaking. I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those.
Wow......lengthy reno job done to perfection......couldnt stop watching....welll done mate
Great job well done I have a much older compressor that I'm going to be restoring but I think I will do it over four or five videos in real time as apposed to time-lapse
Big thumbs up 👍
Thank you so much for Big thump up! l am waiting your videos 👍
awesome job !
nice project
goot job profesonal,,,,,,,
The compressor has a nice life ahead.
Woah... that's a dual power source compressor! Didn't know those existed!

Fantastic job! I think you are my new favorite restorer on RUclips! Dont listen to everyone on the comments, you do a wonderful job, dont change anything! If someone else wants to do it differently, they can do their own restoration video
Again another really good video, very well done restoration! I wish I would have the same fast hands when I sanding or cleaning something hehehe :)
Great job!
Thank you so much!
Nice job
The only thing that I don't like are those wheels instead of rubber feet. Wheels are useful and fine, but the way they look bolted there....its out of place. Nevertheless I LIKED the video. Great work ! Impressive indeed.
Another fantastic build 👍🏻🏴🇬🇧
great job
That's an awesome restoration and improvement. It kind of shows some age, but, looks brand new.
I don't recommend reusing the pressure tank, especially this one because it's such a bad design. The drain is not at the absolute bottom center of the tank, it's offset, meaning that water that condenses inside the tank won't be properly purged when the tank is drained. And who knows if the compressor was cared for properly, you're supposed to drain them after each use, but most people don't and the tank ends up rusting out.
Repainting an old tank is dangerous as it hides the condition of the tank. I recommend that if the tank is to leave your possession, you render it useless by drilling large holes in it or cutting it up. It's not worth the risk of it exploding under pressure and killing someone. I also don't recommend pressurizing at all if possible.
I've serviced a couple of compressors that had never been drained and the owners were complaining they were running all the time, in both cases, several gallons of rusty water came shooting out the drain. They kept them in service despite warnings that the tank was compromised.
So that tank is useless because it is rusty from inside. But how can you fix it? you buy another tank?
@@Leonardo-rp1gk Yes, you scrap the tank and buy another. Once the tank starts corroding, the integrity is compromised and there's no way to repair it safely.
Compressed gasses should be treated with care, there's a ton of energy stored up just waiting to be released. take a look at what happens when truck tires explode, they can send pieces of tire flying for dozens of yards and shatter windows of other cars on the road. Split rim tires are another example that aren't called widow makers for no reason.
Compressors are even more dangerous as the pressure is far higher and you're dealing with a metal container. I've heard of people being near cut in half by detonating compressor tanks, losing legs, being impaled, etc.
That is a very interesting comment. I have a compressor which has had little use over the 20 years or so I have had it. In fact it has never been on for the last couple of years. I am thinking of putting it up for sale but I am worried about the rust that maybe inside of the pressure tank and if there is anywhere I can get it tested. Maybe a new tank would be the safest option. @@GGigabiteM
@@GGigabiteM Ty that seems to be very important.
@@r1273m If any of the fittings have openings large enough, you can stuff a boroscope inside the tank to visually inspect it, but I would just scrap the tank and buy a new one.
BIG FAT CONGRATS ...
Your attention to detail and passion makes all your videos very relaxing and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for your content. You just gained a subscriber
Love the new colour!
Excellent job!!!! So many parts!!!!
I am glad that you used Japanese products
Hi from England
OK there's one or two little things but this is one of the few channels in here (there are others) where good fitting skills are being demonstrated...
I would've liked to see the split in the piston rings orientated at 180° to each other on each piston...and perhaps a little assembly oil as well...
I might also have like to see a difference in measurement being taken on the diameter of the air receiver empty...and then full...
A tip on bearings is never hammer the inside race of it! Always hammer or press on the outside of it and you won’t have a chance at damaging or breaking the bearing or have premature wear
This job woulda sucked :( I put piston kits in my air compressor and didn't even enjoy that lil task. Good video! Ain't no way I woulda done it! Very nice ending.
日本語でご免なさい。
素晴らしい仕事に感動しました。
これから少しずつ、貴方の動画を拝見していきます。
Very nice
Absolute Magic man except for one small thing U PUT BACK IN THE ORIGINAL AIR FILTER???
Nicely done
Thank you!
Hey man, you should remove the apology in your description template. You have no reason to apologize for any mistakes you make in a restoration like this. These are amazing no matter what. Additionally, is this your first time doing small engine work? I'm really impressed!
Oh I really like your comment, thank you for understanding this work. I will remove them.
He's Japanese. They're polite that way.
@@fredgarvin9262 Or humility, also a way to invite constructive criticism.
Nice work mate, good to see you using vinegar and not dangerous acids like some other restorers. 👍
Very detailed and thorough rebuild. Only suggestion is you might consider trading those starter capacitors. Great video. High quality
Thank you so much for the suggestion.
Very very good job, very nice indeed..! 😄👍
Thank you so much! 😄
عمل جيد يا صديقي انا من الجزائر
شكرا جزيلا لك!
👍👍👍 Quel travail magnifique !
Merci beaucoup!
Witam i pozdrawiam!!Z pomyslowoscia, dokladnoscia wykonana renowacja kompresora ,wyglada jak nowy, cierpliwosc daje efekt!!Dobry pokaz filmu!!Tak trzymac!!
Muito legal mesmo amei a recuperação desse compressor de Ar. Parabéns meu amigo sou seu novo escrito do seu canal.
Now that's a restoration!!! Great job..
Great video restoration.
Thank you!!!
@@gear_show Where is the cooling jacket of the cylinders? They're overheated.
Okay I see, this machine still missed some parts, thank you!
Excellent work.
good job
great restauration
Just a tip other interested viewers: Dip the tap in grease before you chase the threads. The metal chips will embed in the grease within the flutes of the tap and not fall into the work piece. Residual grease in the threads can be washed out if you are using the liquid pipe dope as in the video, or left in place if using Teflon tape.
very good nais
Reborn air compressors great he did not covering up dirt and rust. that’s a real restoration. and more then just fixing it.

Do it that same with a power generator. Good video, good job!
très très bon projet de restauration
Well done, great rebuild.
Great!
Beautiful job. Very impressive.
Thank you so much!
This guy is like the mad scientist of tool repair. Do you do it for a living, or just because?
excellent work!
WOW. NICE works and great selection of colors.
👏👏👏
Looks well engineered oil-less compressor worth the rebuild effort. Hope the piston seals have life left. My Teflon coated cylinder sleeve and piston wore out on my 15 amp unit, needed a better air filter design.
Thank you gear show for your video its so relaxing
Lots more life, looks good too! . . . . . Rog
Great restoration 👍🏼
Looks nice!
Great work. But the pressure tank sholud be done a penetrant inspection at least. It is more important than repainting. In addittion, electrolytic capacitors shold be replaced.
Just run capacitors. They usually either work or they don't.
Congratulations.
From Brazil to you.
I liked it from beginning to end.
Although I was sad for the decals, but you did a great job!
Thank you!!!
Another great video, definitely a nice little compressor!
Thank you!
God bless you you are a great man
Extraordinario !!!!!!
Vous faites de l'excellent travail, vraiment bravo !!!!
Really good clean restauration.
Thank you so much!
Very good restoration job 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍
Thank you!!!
I have seen so many of these shows where they use typical spray paint to refinish " work type" equipment. Problem with this is it scratches so easy it rarely even gets back together without scratches. Should be using " Hammerite" paint as it not only gives a superior looking finish it also resists scratching a million times better and the paint is so thick it gives a texture that hides imperfections in the painted surface. Hopefully you read this and try it out on your next project
More in depth description please! Like what was the clear stuff you put on the threads of the tank? Was it to seal it up and prevent leaks?
Is it planed to rebuild the aircover for the cooling of the cylinders? Or for what is the radial ventilationblade?
Okay I see, this machine is missed the aircover, I will rebuild it, Thank you for sharing!
I noticed it missing too. Do you know all compressors have a relief valve betrween pump and one way valve at the tank? This one is electric and closes when motor runs, otherwise back-presure prevents pumps from starting.
@TheLOD2010: The first thing i think when looking at the thumbnail because on after picture it's missing too.
@gear show: What kind of material and process will you think to use to do it?glass fiber? steel sheets? forming or soldering?
Anger's Angel it would be a folded piece of sheet metal like the ones found on most small engines lawnmowers especially
@@1992djg Thank you for the answer. Hope you'll made a video about it.
Good work. Was wondering if sticking a camera inside tank to inspect for heavy corrosion. This was in my estimation a $400. US resto
Thank you for not talking and just getting to the work! So many RUclipsrs feel the compulsion to blather on like an idiot. If you're going to talk, you'd better be ThisOldTony or AvE and make me laugh!
Merci - Thanks a lot
Thumbs up, great job!
Thank you so much! sir.
To me,it seemed brand new even before restoration.
