You Americans never run snorkels you should run a snorkel. Nice clean fresh air from up high out of the dust and water, I made mine on a Friday afternoon when i got heated of site!! It works well on your engine swap it’s on the passenger side.
Cooler, fresher air, my standard intake was under the left hand guard behind the inner liner very dusty and could get water ingress if off roading, other intakes collect air from the hot engine bay, hot air into the intake not a really good idea why start with hot air when your trying to cool it down anyway, Now with my snorkel up at roof height your initially out of the dust and heat of the engine bay and air filter stay way cleaner. And if you make a free flowing forward facing snorkel you also get a positive pressure intake system. “Free boost”. I don’t really know if the last one is a real thing but top fuel dragsters run their scoop forward to ram air into the blower!! my fuel economy also got better with a snorkel.
@@MussaKZN yeah, but this setup will be the way it should have been done. Better components, aftermarket options, and under the hood is simpler and easier to service and repair.
Awesome video. I must have missed why you cut the mounting flange off the Upper IC piping vs just cut some of the length off. Looked like a lot of extra work.
Hey man been super interested in doing a diesel swap. I’ve been looking around the forums can’t find to much on a TDI swap. Where did you source your engine? What conversation plates did you use? And is it possible for an automatic?
@@austinniemela OK, that's what I thought. I found one in Canada for $75 so have installed it. I have the TDI running in my tacoma now, just discovering all my leaks! haha.
Hi Austin, I sent you a message on your website and I will ask you here. Do you still have that parts Tacoma? If so, do you still have the air bag module under where the stereo goes? My module went out on me to day and if yours is still in good working order I would like to purchase it from you. Let me know, you can message me or get ahold of me at my email address I left on your merch site. I hope you still have it. Thanks.
I would like to know if someone can recommend me a trusted used engine company that uses PayPal it seems that are a bunch of fake websites, thanks for your help Joe M.
Absolutely nothing phases you (at least on camera)!! Just redo it…no big deal. Great video as always…big or small.
Thanks 👍
I enjoy your builds. Clean and precise attention to detail.
Glad you like them! Thanks!
I think that it is a given, at some point a 4bt or r2.8 swap has got to be done.
Could always weld the cut off beads on the end of your tubes. Then no roller needed. But hey you got it done, and looks good.

Why run a snorkel if he is going to be mainly daily driving?

Quick question, Are you going to every build a wheeler?
Devin have a beadroller from harbor fright :)
maybe they sell smaller rollers for that Eastwood unit?
9:21 no cover seal ? nothing?
Which is take manifold is that? it doesn't look like the BHW manifold. Is there a reason why you switched out the intake manifold?
Super simple he says.🤣

Where’s the blow off valve going?
What valve cover did you use? My bhw valve 3:52 cover runs right into the plastic vent on top of it.
That’s a BEW valve cover

How come you didn't just use the Darkside Pipe that has a threaded connection for a boost gage?
why buy when you can build?
@@gregh7457 Convenience maybe? Same result less time?
I dont believe they have one for the BRM manifold, i could be wrong though
