Are people playing team games yet on DE? I've been having an itch for some pro-level 2v2's or 3v3's recently. It would be cool to see how the new civs do in a team environment, too.
I love how you talked about the techs being researched and at which moments, also the costs and what that would mean for going into different strategies. Really well cast! I have learned a lot from this!
forget abaout cataphracts, byz are the master of counter and turtling, mass cheap trash in feudal to slow push in castle to finish it off in imp with bombard cannons shielded by trash and catas, byz are really underrated
Yes there is: No eco for the Byzantines. Either through raiding or being out-boomed. Cataphrats are expensive to get going between the castles and the food/gold eco needed to sustain production.
Having played AOE 2 for years when I was much much younger and having tried DE recently, I can appreciate the amount of skill, focus, and attention required to perform the plays, build and micromanagement on display in games like this. Sadly, even with years of play online and off under my belt, I could never quite grasp the nuances and skill required to be truly great at the game, in fact, I'm generally dismal. But I'm so glad someone like yourself exists T90, so I at least can enjoy the level of play I don't have the factor of G for.
That push at 28:26 is like the 2nd siege of Vienna by the Turks. Such a key and deciding moment finalized by few wrong decisions. If Viper had succeeded in that push the game would've had a much much different result.
Crazy game. Before the eagle transition it really felt like Viper had it. I still dont get why so high level plays dont wall at least parts of their main base against raids though
xD even when it's rhetorically correct ... it's still clickbait and we all got hooked :) But whats makes this fine is that T90 not only baits but also delivers.
The way this guy explains, commentary with so passion, this game looks so real while I am watching. With this man commentary every game would make a block buster movie. Viper exploiting market, hera holding the castle: hero of that war "the holy Ram", Finally when everything looking bad with 100 population less for hera, the entry of those brave, almighty Elite eagles bend the tide for hera. The game was won.

Light cav while may be “weaker” have +10 monk bonus damage and innate conversion resistance. It’s not just about cheaper cost to make light cav for monks.
You're probably wondering why I have gathered you all here today, and it is because T90 has released another epic cast of a Viper vs Hera game. Oh well, oh well.
T90, I must remind you that the Sarracen's team bonus is actually +2 bonus attack, so in imperial they end with a +5 for archers instead of +4 as you say
Well, I would say that Viper was in much better position, as he had two central bases, while Hera had only one. Viper could attack from two points, if he positioned his resources in a better manner so as to strengthen both his bases and exploit the region. Instead, Viper went early on attack and spended a lot of resources, which were needed, as Hera, with his control of the gold area, could replenish way easier than Viper. Hera won the game because Viper didn't kill Hera's forward castles in the gold area, while Hera's control of the gold region was uncontestable. When Viper reached his limit, he resigned.
T90 clickbait skills have improved more than Hera's AoE2 skills in 2019 ^^ Sorry but A) this game is from Dec 2019 if im not mistaken and B) no its definitely not the best one of 2019 haha
You are objectively right but AoE2 is the all star game of enough players so it got rebooted in 2019 and has a pro scene without sponsorships. It's like that...
I think it would have been very beneficial for Hera to have a sneaky vil at the start of Castle Age and cause some mayhem on Vipers' base since he was so exposed. His eco was very good so he maybe could have focused on making mangoles and pikemen instead of relying mostly on skirmishers. But hey, it's easy to say all these things in foresight, brilliant game overall.
What won and lost this game was the Imperial age time, which was indirectly affected by Viper's lack of food. If Viper was in imperial he could have easily defended the middle with a treb war. Viper tried to defend with Scout Cavalry against Monks + Skirms + Rams but that just isn't going to do much when you have no food, but even with food Hera could just make a few pikeman which is what he did. I disagree that committing to Castle Age was the right play, personally. I think he could have bought his way to Imperial Age with the market bonus and not be too far off in Imperial Age time. Even if the price off food was really expensive, he could just sell it back once his food economy stabilizes. If he reaches Imp, he could easily win the treb war with more castles and villagers nearby and then it's gg right there. Hera would have no gold for monks or eagle warriors. I think the worst misplay though was having a poor food eco in the first place. I think Viper waited too late to transition into food because he isn't used to playing Saracens. It's easy to do, as I've done so myself many times. You start relying on the market but at some point you need to transition over, and it takes time to do. You need to start it early.
I don't understand why viper didn't upgrade to crossbows first in castle age, instead of buying upgrades for cavalry. Crossbows with bodkin destroy feudal age skirms.
I feel like this game could have ended way differently if Viper had made light cav instead of knights vs the monks and skirms, Hera had no answer to it at the time
Yeah, I have no idea why, probably lack of food? But I don't see qwhy he owuldn't have started to push hard on food when he realized he neded light cav.
@@ReshyShira Viper afforded quite a few knights so I think light cav was not out of the question,. It would be 20 food more, but 75 less gold which you can stockpile to buy more food/wood for farms. Abusing the market isn't the greatest economy long term, but super deadly and should almost definitely win him the game
OMG Hera not walling his freaking home base was incredibly tilting...... a simple palliside or stone gate was all that was needed! Viper raided it like 5+ times!!!
I don't see why Viper making scouts is such a big deal. Archers + scouts is the strongest feudal comp anyway, so as long as you're expecting to duke it out in feudal there's no reason not to make it.
Viper uploaded the full bo7 from his perspective a while ago - you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/I3ty8X9ozX4/видео.html (will start with the beginning of this game). @T90Official

Sure, by buying from the market early he makes it worth more when he sells later, but he loses resources compared to just gathering the appropriate ones in the first place.

Crazy game. Before the eagle transition it really felt like Viper had it. I still dont get why so high level plays dont wall at least parts of their main base against raids though
Probably because it consumes time and they're focused on defending and/or pushing another area. There's a limit at how much you can multitask.
