hey, some math for this insanity. relics give .5 gold per second. hera had 3, so that's 1.5 gold per second. if he took viper's 2 relics, that'd be 2.5 gold per second. EDIT: whoops, mistakes were made. the numbers I used were old. 6 years old. dammit google. spirit of the law lists them as much higher (his malay overview video). AoCStats lists them as somewhat lower than SotL's (using the HD gather rates), but the tests were also done a year before SotL's, so maybe some tweaks were made between then. I'll use both numbers, just in case, though. AoCS: .425 f/s. SotL: .48333 f/s. formate will be AoCS/SotL. using these new numbers, we find that the gold generation rate of a fish farm is .07225/.0821666. compared to relics, AoCS states you would need 7 fish traps per relic, while SoTL's gives a *veeeeeery* slight edge to relics with 6 traps per relic (they're just about the same, exact numbers are 6.9204/6.0852 per relic). altogether, that the malay player would need 21/19 traps to overwhelm 3 relics, or 35/31 traps to overwhelm 5 relics. viper had 48. so in other words, viper was actually producing 3.468/3.944 g/s. that's more than double hera's production. malay fish traps stronk(2). =============== original comment =============== fish traps generate 20 food a minute, or .333 food a second. the lowest sell rate is 100 food for 17 gold, meaning, if you were to sell all the food you get for gold, the traps would be generating .05666 gold per second. really low, right? viper had 48 fishing ships gathering from fish traps. .05666*48 is 2.72 gold per second. this isn't even factoring in the fact that having 2.5 gold worth of materials is actually more useful than having 2.5 gold (if you need food and generate food, you're good, but if you need food and generate gold, you incur a loss). food's not gonna build him any ships, of course, but both hera and viper were making food units (light cav vs 2H-swordsman) even if hera managed to steal viper's last 2 relics, he didn't stand a chance. so long as the malay player has *at least* 45 fish traps (9 traps per relic), you can not outlast them. as it was, viper had almost twice the resource generation hera had. malay fish traps stronk.
@Casrett the point of the calculations was to show that even IF hera had all 5 relics, viper would still have more gold income than hera. the fact that hera couldn't grab them doesn't change that at all.
Thats why you go for portuguese, you can't ever run out of resources with them. Feitoria for the win! (Without mentioning that they are also a very good water civ)

I don't mean for this to go dark, but this game is like a horrendous tale of environmental collapse. Decades of in-game time were spent fighting and dying over who gets to chop the last precious couple of trees.
What they should have done is rush mangonel and bring it to the other's island and deforest their island with it, they'll run out of wood before you can chop half your island.
I can tell you the exact moment Viper won. When he lured Hera's navy behind Hera's island so he could reclaim the water by amassing a stronger navy. I saw that, and my immediate thought was "Viper just won. That's GG."
Garrisoning a single villager or placing the monastery next to the castle would've shortened this a lot. That double ship sandwich was great though. The Malay harbor upgrade is one of my favorite technologies... on sea maps.
The math: Fish trap collection rate is about 15 food per minute. With a sell rate of 100 food for 14 gold, that's about 2 gold a minute per fish trap. That makes 15 fish traps equivalent to a relic, which gives 30 gold per minute.

Think Hera could probably have created monks and tried to convert galleons rather than making his own ships. Based on market price towards the end, he could have created around three monks for cost of one galleon and six monks for cost of one cannon galleon.

Vivi vs ACCM in the fair civs cup was also a SUPER AMAZING game. I watched it in the chinese stream and it's absolutely crazy. I hope you look into it. (warning: it is a long game ) (also, it's not clickbait, it is one of the most interesting games i've seen on islands for sure).
Hera had probably less wood in his island cause it was smaller. Also the fact that Hera need to reseed his farms when Viper has Malay fistraps made wood difference massive.
Viper is still using map hacks. It ends with world peace. World peace can only occur when some people are imprisoned and the others can't get to them. (Yes, I know Viper could have gotten to Hera.)
Sorry not a tie Viper can still beat Hera by killing every unit and building with those Cannon Galleons when/if he wins water. Hera can't push now that Castle is down so he *should* lose water. Also Viper should of built castles close enough to hit anything landing on his island and still somewhat out of range of Galleons. Edit: Also forgot along with T90-"has longswords he can never really fight with", when I read chat... Viper can make transport to send Longsword over, galleons were stopping that but now... Transport is navy, wtf you talking about? also doesn't really need to build anymore galleons; as Hera only has 2 galleons while Viper has 9+? Should get at least 1 transport and cannon galleons as he need those to destroy buildings like the monastery. And the only cannon galleon he has is close to death.
The skill entry is soo big, played my first 3 ranked online games today. I can beat extreme ai easily but got destroyed with quick walls, Maa rushes and towers
Your problem is you are trying to take a skill set that works against a computer whose actions are predictable against a actual human whose actions are unpredictable.
I'm also a noob but a little advice I could give you is to attack a little on the early game and boom behind even if only with a few maa or scouts, people at those levels react extremly badly to agression even if it is three maa or 4 or 5 scouts. I got so used to it that now i can beat the computer on hard usually in castle age using aggresion and started to climb a little (i still suck a lot) and just started playing when DE released. also build orders help a lot.
extreme AI way harder than average aoe game. getting destoyed by rushes is avoidable with outposts/good scouting. when you click up to feudal always wall as much as possible. i used to get destroyed by tower rushes but now I learned to defend pretty well.
Isn't that the point of infinite traps? Infinite food. Resources add in islands very quickly right? After this game I feel like this viper civ is the best for this map. If you can stall the game you win... Maybe Hera misplayed it. The light cavalry was wasted food that could be used for wood or gold to me make more navy. Anyways, I really don't know... Italians are considered the best water civ...
why viper did not just build hundred swordsmans with his unlimited food and transport them to heras i-sland and clear everything. Like in starcraft. building elimination :)
Why the heck was it "dumb" ? It was really awesome and long drawn out yeah definitely but not dumb , come on . I only wished Hera went all in with the ships and scouts YOLO on the market tho :'(
@@blaubeer8039 well it really really depends on your interpretation of the word , "dumb" ,which by the way if you haven't noticed, is quite contrary to what it usually would mean. I was merely saying this was an amazeballs game and a lot could have happened if either viper had vills or Hera got viper's market . But just the lead up to this point was highly entertaining.
I didn't think of it as dumb either. Are they playing for money? Hell no I'm not giving up and calling a draw lmao. Someone will slip up in this endurance race. People focus too much on the professional gamer 'i made a couple bumble moves and the math shows i probably wont win. So gg.' mentality.
I think people think it's dumb because Hera outplayed Viper 90% game but basically lost cause of a bad choice civ and Viper just eventually won in a turtle race.
Constructive feedback to mr T90: Please add the tournament information like "FCC final" in the title. Right now I was choosing wether to watch this "dumb" islands game or to watch the second game of FCC final on twitch. I thought that the FCC final can wait so I chose this one. But once clicking this video I realize that the choices were the same since both are FCC final, except that this one spoils the result for the second FCC finals game(which I haven't yet watched, and now don't care to watch). So please, give more relevant information in the title. Sure "dumbest game ever" and similar titles are surely awesome for the youtube view numbers. But it also now did lead to an unhappy viewer, since the ill-informed decision led to a weird order to view the videos and that led to spoilers
Hera should have towered vipers woods sooner. then again its not an easy decision how fast to expand. still getting pop capped 200/200 and not pushing not easy to justify. may be transfer more villagers to vipers island around 50 mins game time..
Not sure he had enough food to make enough light cav to push the barracks and the market. Plus, Hera had no way to know that Viper had 0 vills. Trying to push the barracks and the market would have been putting all his ressources into doing something which, not knowing if Viper had a villager, had very little chance to pay off

After seeing HC4 i consider this a normal Island game...
harbour should use 1 popspace. so you cant spam those
Vivi vs ACCM in the fair civs cup was also a SUPER AMAZING game. I watched it in the chinese stream and it's absolutely crazy. I hope you look into it. (warning: it is a long game ) (also, it's not clickbait, it is one of the most interesting games i've seen on islands for sure).
38:30 call an ambulance! ... but not for me!
Hera could have landed at anytime around 25:00-30:00. Viper has no land units. How did the rams not destroy his entire base??
Villagers
Vils and fast producing karambit
From 57:00 this turns into the end of Porco Rosso.
Loved the Final Countdown XD
@@NathanCassidy721 well said
extreme AI way harder than average aoe game. getting destoyed by rushes is avoidable with outposts/good scouting. when you click up to feudal always wall as much as possible. i used to get destroyed by tower rushes but now I learned to defend pretty well.
watch hera's vidoe on that its very helpful
Isn't that the point of infinite traps? Infinite food. Resources add in islands very quickly right? After this game I feel like this viper civ is the best for this map. If you can stall the game you win... Maybe Hera misplayed it. The light cavalry was wasted food that could be used for wood or gold to me make more navy. Anyways, I really don't know... Italians are considered the best water civ...
vipers map was perfect hera could be ranged from all sides I believe
Why did viper not transport the two handed?
why viper did not just build hundred swordsmans with his unlimited food and transport them to heras i-sland and clear everything. Like in starcraft. building elimination :)
Stop it. Water maps are my favorite. Makes the game a bit different and really it's the only maps I play usually.
Malayfishtraps, son. They harden in response to ultra-long games!
Thanks to your videos I have made my opponent resign out of boredom. I walled his base in on Arena like Wall did hahaha. It's a 700 elo match.
I've just watched this now, question is,where's the full bo7?
Day 10 of the full bo7 still not been added to the description...
I heard T90 mention that Italians are banned on water maps for hidden cup. Why?
Why the heck was it "dumb" ? It was really awesome and long drawn out yeah definitely but not dumb , come on . I only wished Hera went all in with the ships and scouts YOLO on the market tho :'(
@@blaubeer8039 well it really really depends on your interpretation of the word , "dumb" ,which by the way if you haven't noticed, is quite contrary to what it usually would mean. But anyway you know what's really really dumb ? This chain of thought LOL let's abdicate.
You are real "genius" to point out this.
This is exactly how my island games look against the AI
Only thing he can do is try to land and maybe take out vipers docks.
Hera should have won that. Played way better, but had way less wood. Even with the middle wood and stealing some from viper he still chopped 4k less
Full Bo7 will be added soon...4 months later...
In the end he should’ve targeted houses with the cav then it doesn’t matter about his product he’d be pop capped
Don't think you clickbaited this correctly. Should've made clear that **spoiler**
Viper won with 0 villagers remaining.
No vills for like 45 minutes lmao
When resources are gone, which is best, Malay or Portuguese?
Dunno about dumbest - I've just seen game 3 of Fair Civs Cup final between Viper and Hera.
whoops this is that game - I thought this was low elo legends
@@matthewmcneany that joke set up tho
@@holysword876 legit not a setup I'm just an idiot.
Imagine a Mirror Civs Cup with Malay vs Malay on islands.
Does anyone have the link to the full bo7?
viper should have gotten more infinite fishing traps. i have a headache after watching this... uhg..
a lumbercamp for just one tree you can't make it up
Fish and Chips I cant stop hearing that
Hera should have towered vipers woods sooner. then again its not an easy decision how fast to expand. still getting pop capped 200/200 and not pushing not easy to justify. may be transfer more villagers to vipers island around 50 mins game time..
It's going to be down to 2 guys hitting each other with dirt
Next time you think of using your hands to point, use a pointing salmon.
Talk about a throw away victory. I might be a noob but even I know trebs was a dumb idea
if Hera had destroyed the 3 barracks before going for the market, he could have taken his sweet time to amass light cav, and won the game.
Not sure he had enough food to make enough light cav to push the barracks and the market. Plus, Hera had no way to know that Viper had 0 vills. Trying to push the barracks and the market would have been putting all his ressources into doing something which, not knowing if Viper had a villager, had very little chance to pay off
