  • Building A Pond - Full In 4 Days
    This was quit a unique pond. It turned out to be about 5 feet deep and had no dike. We built this pond over two separate days. By the time we got back to work on it again it was already full! And the owner said it only took 4 days!
    Thanks for watching!

    Cool little pond, only downside I can see is depth. You may find that it will get to warm to support fish and may become a hot stagnant swamp.

      This is quite a small pond. Only about 1/8 acre. But it turned out beautiful

      @sbwyo1966 Год назад

      Yeah, small- but really cool. I'm thinking about 1/4 acre, believe it would be perfect, but if I needed it to be the size of this one here, I'd be happy. Great work.

      Do you have to have a keyway if you don't need a dam?

    • @janoraoutdoors
      @janoraoutdoors  Год назад

      @@RandyJoyce1960 Depending on the ground type no. This was full clay, so no reason for it. But if there would have been any dike, then yea

    If you wanted to could you add on to this pond even tho it’s full? I’m just curious bc I’m wanting to build mine but start off small and expand it later but didn’t know if you could do that

    Will a pond this size support any fish life?

    • @janoraoutdoors
      @janoraoutdoors  8 месяцев назад +1

      Definitely. Species like Koy and sunfish would do well. Just wouldn’t be alot of them. Also perfect for frogs

    You’re the first video I’ve watched where a pond was built without a dam. Everyone else says a dam is needed, can you explain why one wasn’t needed here?

    • @janoraoutdoors

      Perfect layout of the land. Most of our ponds require a dike. This pond happened to be in a very low spot where the entire landscape funneled into
