Was watching you work, digging all that sand and thinking, that will never hold water. Glad you mentioned he's putting in a liner. Good job sir, especially with the small tractor.
Brilliant use of your BX. I'm a new owner of a BX and enjoy watching others work, I studied your movements and it seems every motion of the controls has a purpose. It is clear you are thinking and anticipating your next moves in advance. People take notice, if you are hiring someone to dig out, that is where you get your best bang for the buck. Kudos. Steve
Wow, that grass doesn’t look that bad for New Hampshire lol! Me and my dad also are a father and son team, we do masonry and I actually just bought the b2301 to add to our fleet!
I probably wouldn’t dig a pond with mine but cool to know I could. For something like this I rent a T190 skid steer over a weekend and knock it out quickly.
Just found your channel and I enjoy it. I’m a landscaper also and have been considering buying a bx23s because it is a lighter machine for residential homes but wasn’t sure if it has enough power. Watching you dig that pond I was pretty impressed. Would you buy that same machine again if you had to do it over again. Thanks.
Thanks! I would definitely recommend a subcompact TLB for any landscaper. So many different attachments and tasks you can do for residential jobs, as well as minimal size/impact on the site.
You could’ve called me, with what they do to my yard, I think my dogs could’ve dug you a hole twice as big in a day or two. But really though, it’s incredible what those tiny tractors are capable of. I alot of times wish I had gotten a slightly smaller tractor and used the extra money to get a cab or some additional implements
Hahaha, I'm lucky in that our dogs only like to rip roots and branches off trees. Helpful for land clearing gigs! For sure, this tractor always impresses myself and the people I do work for. I think these small tractors make for great starter and small job equipment, as you can get so much versatility out of them with the base unit and attachments. Doesn't excel at anything, but let's you do a whole bunch of different stuff and gets the job done in the end.
Nice work! I was wondering how you bid this job. I'm looking to break into the business of doing small excavation and was curious what you charged total and price breakdown. Thanks!
Thanks! I don't like to discuss my pricing in comments and don't have a good video of how I bid jobs; But, Tractor Time with Tim has a few good videos on breaking down pricing and bidding. Here is one of them for bidding: ruclips.net/video/VWzl6CHdlcc/видео.html
How many hrs you have on your machine? Bought mine in june already have 100hrs on it lol. It's a mighty little machine. I must of bought a Monday machine got a small list of bugs to fix I bought a bx23s with loader backhoe and belly mower but I love it so far took me 55yrs to get one better late then never I say lol.
I have just over 400 hours on this machine so far and got it in June of 2019. So far it has been awesome for the projects I have used it on! Definitely had some regular maintenance and small hiccups with it, but nothing out of the ordinary so far. I put it through some tough work.
I live in sc and have sandy soil and want a pond similar to this one you showed in video,,,what is most economical way to keep water in pond,,,i have heard about certain types of rock,,material that can be compacted to allow pond to retain water
This customer purchased a liner for this pond, which I think will be the best bet for rention in small ponds that are not below water table or have a water feed into them.
This video (editing wise) filled all my needs to enjoy watching a video. So great job, knew when to speed it up, slow it down, skip to just showing trailer loads and the pile going down. Just curious, do you only excavate or will you help with lining and moving in boulders to install the whole pond? Would love to see the end result of this.
At the moment, I am charging about $50/hr with a 3 hour minimum. In the end, its just about equal to what it would cost to rent in my area, so definitely bidding low but its side work and I am just starting out.
Boy! You’re taking someone’s money to dig a “pond” with that little bitty tractor. That’s an old man hobby tractor. Go borrow some money and getchu a TRACTOR.

Best one I’ve seen so far using a small tractor and backhoe ! Thanks for this

Thanks Steve! I hope your BX is treating you well in your projects as well!
I like that. Another nice job!
Thanks!
Great job man! You are a wizard on that machine
Nicely done! I am going to see if you have a video of the pond with water.
Unfortunately I do not, I havent been back up there to check it out. Been so busy!
Wow very nice!👍
Great work!
Now this is Landscaping!
I love my BX23S. It has its limitations for sure. But it absolutely beats a pick, shovel, and breaker bar every day of the week.

Nice, it will serve you well for sure. So many jobs you can do with these compact tractors!
Do you show what the pond looks like when the water is in?

@@CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC well said. Many people don’t appreciate how versatile they are.
That's a big bite for that tractor
I'd rent an excavator for this one. Move dirt with the tractor
That would definitely be ideal, but ultimately based on what we had I was limited by material removal time more so than what the tractor could dig.
@@CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC true that. Impressive job for the bx though.
Awesome job,it looks good,That was fun to watch..
Thanks!
Great work and great tools. May I ask what model is the excavator? Thanks.
Thanks, Its a Kubota BX23s Tractor!

Nice work. Do you have any update or current pics?
Thanks, I do not have anything super updated. This was after i dropped off the second load of rocks to him: photos.app.goo.gl/b3kk1Kh2jW4DLjzV8
Dang nice rocks
Well if it isn't Paul benjamin my goodness i have not see you since 1986..can you guess who?
@@thisguy333 No idea🤔
Do you have a video or pic of the pond finished from the owner? Just got one of these and I’m going to do this!
Nice video!
Cheers
I dont have pictures finished pond unfortunately
We most definitely need a video about your new truck (your dad's too)
Also with that beard and shirt in first clip you really look like guy who does landscaping
haha, excellent. Im blending in nicely. Yeah, I plan on making a separate video this week on the trucks.

not sure what I like better the pond or the trucks.... wait no the trucks ;-)
I'd take that upper layer soil to my garden lol
Is there a part 2?
God is so good
Muy buen trabajo amigo y la máquina te ayudó muchísimo dónde la compraste se podrá importar a mexico
That's not a pond thats a kiddie pool. 😂
Классная работа👍
Was the ground soft and wet when you were doing this????
No it was dry, but his yard in that spot was backfilled with sand so it was very easy to dig.
The fish eye lens sucks so bad... Good job, though.
How much do you charge by the hour. On this beautiful machine

@@CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC thank you very much for replying...
It's difficult to see the depth...so how deep is it?
It was about ~3' at the center of the main pond
I think it should have been deeper that way it wouldn't fill in as easy
La remorque est bien trop loin
Do a follow up
I'm sorry but the music is too loud and spoils the whole job. Stick with the natural sound of the machines working.
Where is he dumping that dirt? 50 miles away? Needs a faster truck
It was going back to my house around ~45 min round trip. Originally was supposed to go down the road, but plans changed.
I know that yard
