- In NVivo, demographic information can be manually entered or imported from a CSV file. To manually input data, participants' attributes like age, gender, ethnicity, etc., must be created as variables. For importing, the CSV file containing demographic information can be loaded. Once this is completed, the coding process can begin. Containers must be created for research questions or objectives. These can also be structured around a conceptual theoretical framework. The demonstration provided focuses on managing data related to research questions about physician burnout, detailing how to create labels, codes, and organize information accordingly in NVivo.

Hi Philip I exported my codebook in word format. I would like to use it for another project how do I import it to nvivo without manually adding them again?
I haven’t tried it before but you go to the ‘import’ tab and click on ‘codebook’ to update the codebook.

Here is not necessary to create the folders Relationship Types, Relationships and Sentiment as Nvivo for windows, right?
For relationship among themes, it is easier to explore it outside NVivo. I think NVivo Mac version doesn't support auto coding for sentiment.

How do I get the nvivo app on my MacBook pro. I bought my MacBook in 2016 and it's 2024. The nvivo will not open after downloading. I have created my school account but it only works on windows I was told. So how do I get it on Macbook?

Hi! I started coding my data before creating containers for each of my research Questions. So, I have a list of initial codes that are not sorted based on the research question. Is there a way that I can go back and add containers for my research questions and then maybe drag my initial codes into those containers? So far, I have been unsuccessful. Do you know if it is possible? Thanks
You can create containers for your research questions by clicking on ‘Codes’ on the navigation sidebar to show all the codes. You then scroll down to the end and press on ‘Control’ key and click on the empty space at the bottom and select the first option to create the container. You do the same for the other research questions. You then drag and drop the codes to their respective containers.

You're welcome! You first need to open the code by double-clicking on the code. You then select the information you want to uncode and press on 'Control' key and click to open an option menu. You then select 'Uncode Selection' to uncode the excerpt.
what version of your Nvivo you used?
