    I was waiting to see how to use the audio and transcribe it within this video. Please demo the use of audio within this program. Thank you!

      Hey ghadia oscar! Thanks for your suggestion! We already have uploaded a video on transcription in MAXQDA 2020. Check out the following link: ruclips.net/video/BbPI7jQcYHU/видео.html
      Good luck with your project!

    Would it be possible to be directed to resources on how to use the MaxQDA app on an ipad. I can't seem to find any answers so far, and its not as user-friendly as I've experienced with other QDA software apps. If there are webinars/tutorials, that would be great.

    • @MAXQDAOfficial
      @MAXQDAOfficial  3 года назад +1

      Unfortunately, the app has been discontinued for a while now, it should also not be available in any stores anymore (and we at least can't find any).

      @@MAXQDAOfficial Thank you for the information, would you know if they might come to ipads/tablets in the future? Its been quite useful in the passed with programs like atlas.ti

      @@thePublicViewing I'm sorry, but we (the MAXQDA support team) don't know; what we do know is that we couldn't divulge such information anyways even if our development team would have already decided upon this (yet this decision in turn might change if e.g. changes in programming frameworks etc. make it more feasible). Sorry!

    What is the difference between memos and comments in terms of what they can or cannot do?

    • @MAXQDAOfficial
      @MAXQDAOfficial  3 года назад +3

      Thanks for your question! A short answer would be that Memos offer you generally more (but also other) options than comments, the latter of which is always connected to a coded segment (while a memo can be attached to many different things like documents or codes).

    I accidentally hit the x button and the document system and document browser are gone where will i see it and open it again?

    • @MAXQDAOfficial

      Well, you probably found that one out in the meantime, but for anyone else wondering about the same thing: you can display the four main windows in the home tab (you can see those buttons at 1:44 and following).

    Oh no. I just watched the manual guide. unfortunately, this app does not type the transcription, so the effort is still on human and not the program. I'm disappointed. It is not definitely what every person who consumed time and effort in typing what they listen to looking for.

      Indeed - the feature you refer to is designed for manual transcription, but there are import options for transcripts created with automatic speech recognition services as well. Many researchers still transcribe manually for a multitude of reasons, even in 2020 - for example to denote nonverbal communicative signs (sighs, snorts etc.), speech disfluencies, emphases, (micro)pauses, truncations, interruptions and much more - and it's also a great way to _really_ get to know your data, although it can indeed be tedious at times. For those who want to use ai-based automatic transcriptions services: MAXQDA supports the import of transcripts created with automatic speech recognition services as well. You can find a list of the supported software here: www.maxqda.com/help-mx20/import/transcripts-with-timestamps

    Wow MAXQDA your UI is so bad the program could have been written in 1960. For fox sake get some proper UX designers, and build a user-centered product. It's not that hard and the year is 2020.

    • @mhacker84

      it is not probably not worse than the UI of AtlasTi and NVivo.

      Please build one for us Papa Paule! Please! Your said it yourself, it's not that hard. Thanks in advance :)
