He loved the Count as well, if not more.

1960s analog video editing is so primitive yet intriguing for whatever reason

The music is more important than the editing.

Now I see why Stevie Wonder recorded the song "Sir Duke" tribute to Duke Ellington. He and his band were top notch.

Like with the Woody Herman video posted last week, Duke's band was also backing up Tony Bennett during this episode, and this was their solo number.

Duke Ellington put together the greatest collection of skilled musicians ever assembled....however.....it was very rare that they would put much effort into performing with singers...Mel Torme learned the hard way.....however the one album Sinatra recorded with the Duke ...Francis A. & Edward K.....included one of his finest recordings ever... Indian Summer....helped along by an incredible solo from Johnny Hodges...."My God! That's unbelievable John"...was the greatest praise Sinatra who rarely spoke directly to the orchestra/band at recording sessions...would ever give a musician

Would be great to see more of Ed's introductions, in addition to the performance. Like Brook Benton perhaps?

Watching the drummer I sense that he's not really playing, almost like the song is a recording, not live. Also, the song is cut short for TV. The "real" version is longer.
