  • Winter work day in the freezing forest as a spoon maker. Old fashion hand craft. Sawing wood, splitting, axing out spoon blanks and carving one of my scrapper bowl cooking spoons. Wood is a bit frozen. Relax with the sights and sounds of working in the winter woods. No talking on this one.

This is awesome - to see the carving a blank process.

Splendid video. Just the right amount of narration. I like the continuous-loop hook knife. Where did you get it?

Thanks. Glad you liked the video. The hook knife is Lee Stoffer scorp XL. Awsome knife. This one has some years of every day use.

Do you go over it again with the knife after it dries?

Yes, I do the finishing cuts after it dries and then decoration. This piece was a bit harder to do because it was almost frozen when I started but I wanted to carve one to show on the video. I usually axe the blanks in the woods and carve in the wormth back home 🙂 It is a great experience to carve outside so I do it when I have some time left.
