- Some Heel Toe Downshifting and Rev Matching for you. The E92 M3 does not come with Auto-Rev Match and I love it this way. I'm not the best by any means, I just love practicing every time I drive this car and continuing to refine the inputs to rev match the best I can. Plus, I get rewarded with the monstrous sound this car makes when downshifting :)

My man is driving in boats. 🤔
Would love to see the tutorial on how you rev match. 🤌🏾
Let's see if a Rev Match tutorial is of interest to you guys. Like this comment if you want a video on it!
@@wettm3 Do it, it's great even for those of us who already know how to do it. I think it's interesting seeing different drivers' technique, and the approaches that different cars require.
@@wettm3 hell yeah man id love to see
@@wettm3 yes please yes please yes please
@@wettm3 do it lmao
Fun fact: BMW Places the brake and gas pedal close together on purpose specifically for making it easier to heel toe using the side of your foot like that. It has been like that on all manual BMW's for many years and they say it is all part of the ultimate driving experience. ;)
Almost any proper performance car company does that. Hell, Porsche is notorious about it
almost every single manual car in the world has this, the gas and brake are right foot pedals and the clutch is for left foot not special
@@wrth Good eye... not in the US tho. Brands like bmw, porsche, audi, etc do put those two pedals in the perfect spot so that while braking your "side" of your foot lines up perfect with the throttle. Many US cars didn't until more recent years. Look at the pedals in something like a 2014 Cadillac CTS and you'll see what I mean.
@@Scythe17 oh my bad. im EU so i dont know much about US cars. closest i got to US cars was a Ford Focus and even then that’s only American in its badge 😭
@@wrth All good! Yeah over here they never really did "handling" or "performance" in our commuter or luxury cars till like after 2015ish lol.
probably the best looking and sounding e92, great vid as always
I appreciate that! Thank you!!
agreed
Propably the best sounding v8 outthere
Best sounding E92
Always love watching you drive
Thank you sir!
Your videos remind me why I want an E9x M3 every time I watch lol
Just doing my part :)
Thanks for watching!
Impeccable driving and thank you for making this video! Ever since I first saw your videos (without a pedal cam), I've always wanted to see this in action.
Nah this is simply perfection the sound the driving technique dear god I’m in love
That's the most pleasant exhaust sound video of a V8 M3 I've ever watched! From bottom to top revs!
I can never get enough of that sound 😍 definitely gotta get a s65 one day
E92 M3 is the most greatest engine sound from all Bimmer model it’s my favorite cars ... Thank you for your sharing 🥇🤝
Downshift goosebumps 😊😊😊 that feeling from the sound I hear makes me more excited to hunt getting myself a e92 m3 coupe
THIS is the video i’ve been waiting for. Your downshifts are so crispy lmao
Those downshifts sound heavenly
when u did a 5th gear pull going on to a driveway, i frikin loved it, its on repeat.
Absolutely love your heel-Toe! and the sound!!
Such a clean build man 😍
God it makes me smile watching this. Especially when away out of town. Makes me more excited to go home and drive the car 🤩🤩🎶🎶🙇♂️🙇♂️
The triple white Ultraboosts and a clean M….Wett’s living my dream.
this man has a unique taste on E92 M3 MT .. nothing crazy but enough to look good
My man is driving in boats :O
European commenting here, I have an e90 with a small 2.0 diesel and it still manages to put a smile on my face, can't imagine how much fun a similar chassis (e92) is with the V8. Amazing content man, keep up the good work!
Yo! Sharp and crisp matching, absolutely love it! You're way too humble, my opinion is that your shifts are very precise! Now that I have the zf8hp, I miss the rev matching on my old Toyota, which was a diesel and no way near as fun as your m3, but I managed to match them pretty darn good.
Have a good one!
practising revmatching in slow cars is harder and when u do that and u hop in a fast fun car damn that feeling
your car is insane man!
Awesome driving my man🙌🏽
'My man is driving in boats'
loved the video
One of my fav M3’s ever produced, this video was splendid !
Very nice and natural heel and toe skills
It was a very nice and very useful video and I learned how to drive properly. I hope you will post more like this video, thank you👑🔥
Wettm3, I am a fan from South Africa👌😁love your vids man, can you do more in depth vids of how to Rev match, I wanna learn how to Rev match myself, so your last Rev matching vid really helped
Love from South Africa too💯🙏🏻
great video...your driving and shifting is really nice...
pedal cam is awesome!
One of my dream cars! I know this is an old azz vid but the clean driving hooked me... I for sure want to have a set of driving loafers just for my future GT350 to cruise in... anyway those boats dont seem so bad the way you drive in them!
aughhhhhhhhhhhhh the sound is driving me insane
angel lights ong they are beautiful
Awesome video man
man's drivin' in boats...very clean sound, nice shifting, best sounding bmw imo.
Just little lesson 😂 for somebody good

Responsible, spirited drive. Big fucking ups to you bro

My man is driving in boats. Love the videos I want a E90 M3 6SPD daily so bad one day I will be able to get it!
Been wanting one since 2013, Covid hit, bought a home, pushed back the purchase but watched a ton of your vids during Covid times and now I have one. It’s unreal how special this car feels. Not fast, not slow, but just right.
Bought a home...wise.
@@ronaldov09 fortunately mid 2020 right before the real hike started to happen
@@MDIHSteam1 Good job. Roof first, sick car later :)
Allllllll the revs!
This is my dream car Thanks for sharing I will do this on my e90
Work of art, wish I could rev match as good as you.
Gotta practice every single time you drive and ignore anyone who tells you that you don't need to heel-toe if you're not at a track or racing. You get more in-tune with the car every time you do it. I've been doing heel-toe for 15 years of driving, and still feel like I'm learning something new on each drive.
Would love to see a real indepth Rev Match tutorial. I mean, if people believe you have auto Rev Match when you don't, that says something about your skills IMO XD. Oh and don't be scared to go "too" indepth. I think a 201 lesson would be more suiting then a 101 since we're all car guys over here who have some basics.
Nice video my Brother good luck
Need that tutorial video! Awesome video mane
Dope video bro, those downshifts sound so fucking good. Yeah a more in depth rev matching video would be sick!
soo clutch in, rev, downshift. it seems really hard to do but will deff try in my E46 330ci

Great vid mate enjoy it a lot so relaxing beautiful car
Love the bbs wheels man. I’m getting an f80 m3 in a few days.

Helped push me to get an m3 !! Have in grey but its the e93 dam she's beautiful !!! Rod bearings and Exhaust mod is booked for next week 🙌
Saving up for those lights they're so day sexy !!! Make the car look so modern !!! Tried the led bulb replacements for the halo rings worked for a day :(
Nicely done ◡̈ what exhaust .. sounds amazing
Love listening to that s65's N/A v8.. i like the wheels sick car bro..I wish mine was a manual
honestly, for most drives not on a track I don't see the use of this technique. Its cool to watch and it reminds me of my old 335i 6MT but on the track its more critical to down shift and brake at the same time so it calls for this technique. You are going say 100-120 on a straight and then you have to drop two gears and slow down by 40-50 mph to take a turn and balance the car correctly. I have found when you don't do this right the cars lunges or feels off centered on a turn and weight distribution is key. You don't want too much weight over the front or rear heading into a turn. Great M3 to drive around in for sure.
280 South! ayee. Hope to run into you some time. Been watching your vids and it's inspired me to make some like these. Keep drivin!
Music to my ears bro
Beautiful
Hey man, I never get tired listening to your E92 👍 I would love a tutorial vid! I'm learning on an F87 M2, and it's my first manual. I got big boats like you do (size 12) lol. But my feet are also narrow so I'm having a rly hard time with my foot positioning when trying to let half of my foot blip the gas pedal
Practise using the brake with half of your foot while resting half of it on the gas. Once you are able to comfortably brake and use the gas without moving your leg (only your ankle) then you can try downshift rev matching
A lot of my friends do this and sure it works. However, I’ve caught them accidentally pushing down on the gas pedal while breaking which would cause them to launch forward and, in some cases, up onto a curb while parking or into a busy intersection. Although it takes more practice, true heel toeing is far safer. I have 12 1/2 sized feet, and yes, it was a bit of a struggle at first but, I eventually was able to work it out. Also, at first you might feel that you’re not flexible enough to do it but, as you practice you become more flexible and the twisting of your leg and ankle gets better. Good luck dude.
@Stash O’neill you’re right. When I’ve been driving flat out and having to break hard I have sometimes also hit the gas but luckily it’s only happened twice and both times I was on the clutch so the engine just revved. I think my knee would dislocate if I tried heel and toe the actual way lmao
2:05 what a pull

What is that 4 a sound????? Wow!!!!!
This is a car to drive
My man is driving in boats! Would love an in depth tutorial. Been daily driving a manual for 4 years now, and honestly my heel toe down shifts are buns. Would really like some advice on how to improve!
hey man i love the no nonsense style of your content, keep it up! i also had a question… i have an e90 325i that’s a stick. i figure our manuals are pretty similar with you having an e92 so i thought i’d ask. over the last couple of years or so i’ve been having this weird issue where it seems as if the clutch/transmission will get excessively notchy and difficult to shift at times. it’s like the clutch has an extra level of heft to it and like the car doesn’t want to go into gear as easily when shifting. not only that, but it’s almost like all the overall dynamics of the car change. it feels more sluggish to accelerate and there’s a noticeable delay and some power loss when starting off in first. there’s occasionally even a thumping sound i can hear from the rear when this happens and the car fees incredibly bogged down when starting from a stop. it should be noted that this comes and goes and from what i can tell, more often than not it happens when it’s really hot outside. i live in arizona, so during these months it’s regularly 95-110 outside. it’ll happen sometimes when the temps are moderate but it’s definitely more prevalent when it’s hot. also i worked at a bmw dealership for 2 years and had master techs take a look at/drive my car numerous times. some couldn’t duplicate the issue and others felt what i was describing but couldn’t identify what the potential issue may be. i had the clutch replaced last year and it’s definitely a bit better since being replaced but the shifting/clutch issues and overall sluggishness with the car is still a noticeable issue. lastly, when the car isn’t behaving this way, it’s a blast to drive. it’s almost like it’s a night and day thing. it can go from feeling bogged down, sluggish and hard to shift to feeling spry, easy to shift and like the clutch is as light as a feather. it’s very strange. any thoughts/input?
Remove the CDV and bleed the clutch lines. Should help, if not... I have no clue what it might be.
If multiple BMW techs couldn't pinpoint the issue I highly doubt a youtuber will. With that being said I'd check the brake/master fluid. Flush it and replace with fresh ATF or w/e e90's recommend. Could also be something along the lines of your throw out/pilot bearings, clutch fork, clutch itself, could literally be any number of things that someone over the internet wouldn't be able to diagnose. Secondly, with the " thumping " sound you're hearing I'd inspect your guibo and bushings in the rear. I.E. subframe, diff, trailing arms etc.
Great video, what setup you use for this angle?
Great driving. What suspension are you running? That seems extremely bumpy. I couldn't drive this thing for more than 5 minutes 😂
Damn man, that is insane. How do you rev-match heel-toe so well every time?
I'll answer for him..🤷♂️ practice

Like the video, what can be improvedis the sync between videos
Mans using yachts on the pedals!
All that sound and it goes no where 😂😂🤣
wow sound is good👍
Then .. it is stock suspension??
1:53 this onramp is so fun rail if you're coming with speed
Is that stock exhaust ? What has been done on the exhaust ? Such a great sound 👍
Could you make a video of your gopro settings and how you wear it? If i try to record go pro Videos they are normally too high … and do you film in 60 fps? I think so..
Many thanks !!
Great job, great videos!
Dude driving in boats 🤣 what a lovely sounding e92 bro. Would love to see a more in depth video!
Heel toe downshifting minus the heel part 😂
What are you using to record your POV? Sick video!🔥
So you clutch in, downshift, blip the gas real quick as you let go of the clutch correct?
Is your suspension Super bumpy or is the roads you’re driving on?
When you rev-match, how do you maintain consistent brake-pressure to make sure it's not upsetting the weight balance? Probably an easy thing for most but I can't seem to get this part down
There is only one way and it is practice. Some times it is difficult to maintain even pressure, so I sometimes alter shift timing and focus more on braking. Heel-toe is cool but braking is far more important
It's very difficult to maintain. It's funny - the harder you're braking, the easier it actually is. It also depends a lot on the car. Some pedal setups are a lot more difficult due to: extremely sensitive brake pedal or engine\throttle that requires a lot of "stab" to get the engine to rev up. A lot also depends on the clutch - how easy it is to "catch" the engine with the grab point of the clutch. Some cars you're able to feel a lot of this through the pedals and it makes it very easy, others (I'm looking at you Ford Mustang) are completely dead with zero feel and hyper sensitive and it's actually very difficult.
i find it easier to rev match if you need to lay into the brake pedal more, but for regular slow driving its harder. My car has a floor-mounted gas pedal so using the side of my feet is the way I do it.
@@lowstrife My Forte GT Manual has a brake pedal that's too tiny thus rendering it too far away from the accelerator to Heel-toe. It's also pitched WAY too far forward. It's retarded and I have US 10.5 feet.
Weight balance getting upset isn’t going to matter here. Not getting any where close to the limit anyways
