I had an iPhone 8 plus for almost 5 years. When the 14 plus came out I decided to upgrade. Honestly, love this phone so far. No, it wasn’t worth it to get the 14 pro max - it’s a lot more expensive in my country. And I don’t need all the pro features, but did want the larger screen. So for me, this phone was a great option 😊
The people I know that upgraded from older Plus models got the standard 13 (Same as their previous screen size) for 30% less. The people that upgrade every 12-24 months either got a 13 Pro Max (Better Screen and Camera) or a 14 Pro Max. The 14 Plus just isn't competitive at it's price point among the other Apple products in the US market. @@gk5891 while the screen size might be the same, the actual phone size isn’t. The 8 plus and 14 plus are pretty much identical in size. So maybe saying I wanted a bigger phone sounds a bit better. Also, the pro max is A LOT more expensive where I am. I like a good phone, but don’t need all of the features of the pro. Maybe it was a good strategy to get others to get the pro max, but I think for someone who just wants a good phone without having to pay in the extra - the 14 plus is still actually a good option. I’m on about week 3 or 4 with this phone and I honestly have no complaints whatsoever
@@paigieatkinson I'm not criticizing the 14 Plus. It's a good product. In your country it may very well be in the sweet spot in the lineup. It's more that I think Apple goofed with their US Pricing Strategy. At $100 less it would become a much more compelling option.

The 14 plus is $899 (which is R16000) yet our 14 plus actually starts at R24000🙃… so you can imagine what the 14 pro max would be
I think screen size and battery life is the most important thing in smart phones. I have a 12 Pro Max and rarely use the upgraded features on the phone. The processer means little to me and the incremental upgrade of the 14 to the 13 and 14 are not enough to make me want the newer phones. The camera systems on the 14 Pro Max are better than my phone but if push comes to shove, not that much. Serious photographers would use a dedicated camera anyways. Every year, Apple tries to get you to buy the new and improved but it is just a marketing ploy.

120hz is a UX game changer. because your phone is probably the piece of tech you handle the most by far, imo user experience is exceedingly important, and 120hz is a MAJOR part of that.

In India, the price difference pretty huge between the pro max and plus. I bought an 14plus today and I have zero regrets.. ❤️ Switching from Android to IOS for the 1st time.

@@kaushikdas4591apple 60hz display feels really smooth because of the animation and optimisation. Just got mine a week ago its great super fast and the battery is fabulous it will easily last 1.5-2 days with normal use. I don’t click too much photos so don’t care too much about the camera but the camera takes pretty good photos.

I have owned this phone for 3 weeks (as of November 6th, 2022) and I absolutely love it! The 14 pro max does not interest me because I don’t need or have a use for the “extras”. So far, I am getting almost 3 days of use out of it before having to charge it.
I got this phone recently and I can tell you: if the price difference between the 14 Plus and 14 Pro Max in your currency is significant -and you’re in a budget, go for the 14 Plus. I dont regret it at all, it’s a nice phone! In my case it was hard to find the 13 Pro Max (not available anymore in many store) but the 14 Plus has a decent screen, camera without many requirements. If you’re coming from a older model this device will make you happy

agreed. i upgraded from a 12 pro max to the 14 plus, a lot may say it's stupid, however my 12 was broken and needed a new unit. not a huge fan of the dynamic island and don't take many pictures, plus the battery life is amazing. can go 2 days with no charge.
I am typing this on my 14 plus in midnight 128 gig. I upgraded from the XR. I know that’s a huge upgrade. But I was using the 13 previously and just broke it so had to switch to my old XR before I could upgrade. The phone runs amazing. Idc about 120 refresh rate, as it’s just not a feature that matters to me. The phone has amazing battery life, the cameras are fantastic, the screen size is perfect and it does exactly what any other iPhone does. It’s all personal opinion. I don’t need a 3rd camera lens to cost me another 2-400 dollars.
I have an 8 plus and am thinking of getting the 14 plus. Would love the camera on the pro plus but it is just so expensive. 14 plus is 1,300 and the pro plus is 1,600 Insane prices. Oh and i get the 256GB

I absolutely love my iPhone 14 plus and this video helped me decide! It’s so lightweight and the battery is truly amazing. I am not a fan of the dynamic island anyways, I find it obstructive and it’s known to cause screen burn. I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t need super advanced camera as the camera is still impressive! I also think it’s the most beautiful design out right now. iPhone pros look clunky to me and they’re too heavy and just not as comfy to hold!

I got one for my older boss at work and it is fantastic for him! It has the bigger screen, the perfomance is great, battery life is amazing, and camera is good enough. I dont understand why the plus is so overlooked. For someone who isnt a tech spec geek, its more than capable
I came from years of using android. My latest one being the OnePlus 9 Pro. Honestly, don’t even notice the lower refresh rate on the screen and I’m actually liking IOS. The battery life in this iPhone is phenomenal. Currently sitting at 42% and was fully charged 10 hours ago. Use to be an Apple hater and decide me to jump on the train since I needed an upgraded. My Onplus 9 pro has green lines appeared suddenly and I decided to switch to iPhone 14 plus. The battery life is very good. I am happy user now. I dont even notice the lower refresh rate as well.

I got the iPhone 14 Plus today. I’ll take it over the 14 pro any day. Keep in mind you can’t go with the 128 gb 14 pro or proMax because photos take up storage really quickly. So it’s a 200-300 price difference with the 256 gb versions.
@@fijiwill2237 That's the point, the pro model is smaller than the plus and the plus has the best battery life of any IPhone yet. (even beats the pro max by a few minutes) If it's not for the camera's then you could better stick to the cheaper models.

Had my XR for 3 years, just got the 14 plus. So amazing, and it’s just what i want, screen size and battery life. Even the notch seems smaller than on the XR
If the 14 and 14 Plus were priced at $700 and $800 respectively instead of their current $800 and $900 then both would sell very well, especially the Plus. But no, Apple didn’t do that cause they want to push people to the pro and pro max.
They also try tricking you into believing that they’re offering the people who aren’t tech savvy a great deal with the base 14 models simply because their cheaper, when in reality they’re royally ripping them off
That stupid dynamic island is actually the thing keeping me from buying the 14 Pro. I watch a lot of videos on my phone and the dynamic island is even more distracting than the notch was.
I’ve had the 14 pro for 3 weeks now and have to say, 120 hz is nice, but I don’t think it’s anything great. My iPad is 60 hz and I barely notice the difference. Maybe it’s my vision, who knows. To me, 120 hz is like a 10% better feature.
Based on reviewers comments I think they enjoy the responsiveness while navigating primarily. That's what I notice most when going from 60 to 120 hz myself.

I found 14 pro max heavy , then retake in my hand the 14 plus , and I’m convinced to buy that. On the note of $900 with a 60hz display. I left the iphone for a pixel. The iphone runs 60hz way better than other phones. Most increased fresh rates on Android are still stuttery. Let's talk about performance and battery life. Both beat most flagship androids. I love both systems but for practicability this works just fine
I had the iPhone 14 pro max for 2 weeks . It was heavy every day use and the bettery wasn’t any better than the iPhone 8 Plus I had before . When I learned about iPhone 14 plus about the bettery and bigger phone I turned in the iPhone 14 pro max and paid 75 restock fee. At this time it wasn’t about money . Every day use pro max it was as having extra pounds on me . Emmy wife has the 14 pro max . Picture quality not big difference . The battery last twice as long as my wife’s 14 pro max . Most people don’t use the features max offers . I would just go with plus and use that 200 for Apple Watch it tablet .
I adore my 14 Plus so so much! I upgraded from an XR back and January and this phone has been such a godsend. Lol I love the bigger display size, and as a man with huge hands, it deffs fits much better. I won’t be upgrading until the 18 most likely lol I potentially see a Pro Max in my future, but I feel like this phone is such a godsend.
I left the 13pm for the 14plus and I am happy that I did. I dont feel like im holding a brick. I have crash detection on SOS ( I travel a lot ) i dont get the hate. People complain about the price but you also need to take into account the world we live.
I upgraded from the 11 pro to this. I wanted a big display and really don’t take many pictures. The promotion wasn’t that big of a draw for me. Battery life is great.
This demonstrates why Apple stops selling the pro models after one year. If they were still selling the 13 pro max it would have to be at a lower cost than last year and absolutely no one would buy the 14 plus model.
SO true. I’ve been looking for a 13 pro max for ever now. But even used it’s more expensive than the ‘new’ 14 plus. So I just went with the 14 plus because couldn’t get myself to pay an extra $200 on an older phone
7:15 actually we can say that about iPhones in the past. Not even that long ago, even. XS and XR. One shipped with 3D Touch and the other didn’t. One with LCD and the other OLED. Even though haptic touch exists, it’s not the same thing and 3DT did require different hardware and enabled different features, such as the screens on the 14P. This is barely 5 years ago, it’s not like you missed something about the iPhone 3G/3GS
My answer to each of your questions is a resounding NO! I just purchased the 14 plus and I love it! What appeals to me are the simple things that I look for in a PHONE…Sound, functionality and aesthetics.. the 14 plus works for me on all 3 areas!!
My mom is upgrading from 7 plus that I gave her when I got 11 in purple to 14 plus. I think for a normal usage is perfect phone. Moms don’t need extra tech they just need a phone that calls text and take good pictures. And for that I think 14 plus is better and more then enough.
biggest draw is 120 hz, I almost bought it over the 14 pro max but I want the promotion since I feel like it’ll help with longevity and overall smoothness of my 14 pro max over 4+ years since that’s how long I plan on keeping it

Its a pretty good lurk these big phone companys have , just throw in enough features to keep selling phones every single year lol . In a few years when they cant think of any features to upsell to us , they may start putting features back that they took away , like the headphone jack , accessories in the box , etc ,etc .

14 pro is so frustrating. Activating the Notification Center is pain in the ass. Hitting this tiny space between the upper border and the dynamic island is almost impossible. I always need to swipe 3-5 times till I’m able to activate it. Such an design failure from Apple. I hope the dynamic island will be gone next year

I bought this phone for my wife when she broke her iphone 12 pro. She loves it, says she gets so much better battery life. Its a cool phone for people that just want a nice big phone. I am waiting to replace my pro to see the iphone 15 thats interesting to me. If they make a tiatanium I am buying that.
As a photographer I really wanted the iPhone 14 pro, and may upgrade later in the year, but ordered a 14 regular size…. The price is so much higher on the Pro in my market, and the 2 main lenses which are all I usually use are almost identical. The lighter weight of the regular iPhones is a big deal too, and the pro-motion display means zero to me, most Iphone displays are excellent.

People are dogging the non-Pro models having the old A15 chip, but don’t forget it has 6gb of RAM which should help with performance and keeping apps from closing out on you. 🎉
I remember when people are criticizing the iPhone XR because of the lower screen resolution and later in 2019 it became the best selling iPhone of that time, I think it’s too early to tell though. The best selling point of the 14s are the satellite communication thing and crash detection which is a feature that we hope not to use but it is there when we need it, but for me 4k 30fps s of cinematic mode, and Action Mode for a cam I’m sold. But waiting for that iPhone 15 I’m still holding onto my iPhone XR for now
Out of all the iPhones I’ve had I think the XR is underrated. Amazing battery. The screen resolution didn’t bother me. And it had cool colors. I heard that the upcoming SE model will look like the XR.
I am a normal camera user but after I upgraded to the 14 pro and saw the differences from the regular camera I really love the proraw feature for the camera. Obviously I am not going to use it all the time because of storage but if I had the storage I would use the pro raw feature all the time honestly

I'm interested in this phone because the back glass is serviceable. What good is the pro if the back glass breaks, causes damage to the phone, and then you have to pay almost the cost of the phone to fix it
In this moment there is like 350 Euros difference between Plus and Pro Max and couple of weeks to wait for the Pro Max(Europe) so I think the existence of this model makes sense. Thanks for the video.
Yes some Samsungs might have a better refresh rate. But 2 years down the road my iPhone isn’t gunna start lagging and glitching out to where as every android I’ve had, has done that at some point in time
Not every phone is perfect. The extra features are nice on the pros ill definitely agree on that. But some features aren't necessarily needed I really like the 14 plus it's still a great phone. I really enjoyed your video I enjoy the feed back and you're very informative 😊
I went and looked at it today and I loved how lightweight it was and the aluminum siding, but I couldn't stand the slower refresh rate. It was very noticeable. Once you've gone ProMotion, it's hard to go back.
Same! I absolutely LOVE the weight distribution and feeling in the hand on the 14 Plus. They nailed that. But darn if that display isn't a huge letdown when you see it next to the Pro Max.
I have the plus and for me it looks identical to 120hz. At first I thought it looked horrible but to my surprise reduce motion was on, once I turned it off and adjusted my cursor sensitivity it was soo fast and smooth.
I’m putting this comment FROM the iPhone 14 Plus. Just got it today. I love it so far, very comfortable to hold as well. Feels like a 120Hz display although it’s 60Hz. If any of you have any questions, drop them below and I’ll answer them as soon as I can 👍🏾 Edit after using for 3 days- the battery life is absofrickinlutely AMAZING. The phone ran RUclips and subway surfers at the same time and for three hours only 20% deducted. Even better than the Pro Max 😱. You could use it for two whole days of constant usage (not “very” heavy usage tho)

This is the iPhone that I want to buy this fall. It has not sold well which is always an opportunity to buy a good phone for a bargain price. It has already being sold for the same price as the regular iPhone 14 and I am sure that it will sell for much less on Black Friday.
Once the 13 Pro Max is sold out from retailers, it’ll make more sense. I’d still get a used 13 Pro Max over this one, but for someone who doesn’t need the better cameras or pro motion, it makes sense.
everyone saying that just get the pro as it only adds 100$ and you get the pro features, but people forget once you get the pro the screen is smaller, the pro is only 6.1 inches. and the Plus is 6.7. I traded my iPhone 10 max for this 14 plus. They had a promotion and they gave me $800 trade towards the 14 plus. I got a really good deal. The 14th and max was back order, I checked everywhere and no luck. So I decided to get the 14 plus for $100 after trade in.
I agree the reason why it didn’t sell well is because of the price very similar Samsung s22 and the s ultra most people will go with the more expensive model are the base model it’s very little wiggle room and these companies just don’t understand that

120hz is a UX game changer. because your phone is probably the piece of tech you handle the most by far, imo user experience is exceedingly important, and 120hz is a MAJOR part of that.

In India, the price difference pretty huge between the pro max and plus. I bought an 14plus today and I have zero regrets.. ❤️ Switching from Android to IOS for the 1st time.

@@kaushikdas4591apple 60hz display feels really smooth because of the animation and optimisation. Just got mine a week ago its great super fast and the battery is fabulous it will easily last 1.5-2 days with normal use. I don’t click too much photos so don’t care too much about the camera but the camera takes pretty good photos.

The 14 pro max does not interest me because I don’t need or have a use for the “extras”.
So far, I am getting almost 3 days of use out of it before having to charge it.
I got this phone recently and I can tell you: if the price difference between the 14 Plus and 14 Pro Max in your currency is significant -and you’re in a budget, go for the 14 Plus. I dont regret it at all, it’s a nice phone! In my case it was hard to find the 13 Pro Max (not available anymore in many store) but the 14 Plus has a decent screen, camera without many requirements. If you’re coming from a older model this device will make you happy

agreed. i upgraded from a 12 pro max to the 14 plus, a lot may say it's stupid, however my 12 was broken and needed a new unit. not a huge fan of the dynamic island and don't take many pictures, plus the battery life is amazing. can go 2 days with no charge.

I am typing this on my 14 plus in midnight 128 gig. I upgraded from the XR. I know that’s a huge upgrade. But I was using the 13 previously and just broke it so had to switch to my old XR before I could upgrade. The phone runs amazing. Idc about 120 refresh rate, as it’s just not a feature that matters to me. The phone has amazing battery life, the cameras are fantastic, the screen size is perfect and it does exactly what any other iPhone does. It’s all personal opinion. I don’t need a 3rd camera lens to cost me another 2-400 dollars.

I absolutely love my iPhone 14 plus and this video helped me decide! It’s so lightweight and the battery is truly amazing. I am not a fan of the dynamic island anyways, I find it obstructive and it’s known to cause screen burn. I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t need super advanced camera as the camera is still impressive! I also think it’s the most beautiful design out right now. iPhone pros look clunky to me and they’re too heavy and just not as comfy to hold!

I came from years of using android. My latest one being the OnePlus 9 Pro. Honestly, don’t even notice the lower refresh rate on the screen and I’m actually liking IOS. The battery life in this iPhone is phenomenal. Currently sitting at 42% and was fully charged 10 hours ago. Use to be an Apple hater and decide me to jump on the train since I needed an upgraded. My Onplus 9 pro has green lines appeared suddenly and I decided to switch to iPhone 14 plus. The battery life is very good. I am happy user now. I dont even notice the lower refresh rate as well.

I got the iPhone 14 Plus today. I’ll take it over the 14 pro any day. Keep in mind you can’t go with the 128 gb 14 pro or proMax because photos take up storage really quickly. So it’s a 200-300 price difference with the 256 gb versions.

If the 14 and 14 Plus were priced at $700 and $800 respectively instead of their current $800 and $900 then both would sell very well, especially the Plus. But no, Apple didn’t do that cause they want to push people to the pro and pro max.

I’ve had the 14 pro for 3 weeks now and have to say, 120 hz is nice, but I don’t think it’s anything great. My iPad is 60 hz and I barely notice the difference. Maybe it’s my vision, who knows. To me, 120 hz is like a 10% better feature.
Based on reviewers comments I think they enjoy the responsiveness while navigating primarily. That's what I notice most when going from 60 to 120 hz myself.

When I learned about iPhone 14 plus about the bettery and bigger phone I turned in the iPhone 14 pro max and paid 75 restock fee. At this time it wasn’t about money . Every day use pro max it was as having extra pounds on me . Emmy wife has the 14 pro max . Picture quality not big difference . The battery last twice as long as my wife’s 14 pro max . Most people don’t use the features max offers . I would just go with plus and use that 200 for Apple Watch it tablet .

I adore my 14 Plus so so much! I upgraded from an XR back and January and this phone has been such a godsend. Lol I love the bigger display size, and as a man with huge hands, it deffs fits much better. I won’t be upgrading until the 18 most likely lol I potentially see a Pro Max in my future, but I feel like this phone is such a godsend.

I upgraded from the 11 pro to this. I wanted a big display and really don’t take many pictures. The promotion wasn’t that big of a draw for me. Battery life is great.

This demonstrates why Apple stops selling the pro models after one year. If they were still selling the 13 pro max it would have to be at a lower cost than last year and absolutely no one would buy the 14 plus model.

7:15 actually we can say that about iPhones in the past. Not even that long ago, even. XS and XR. One shipped with 3D Touch and the other didn’t. One with LCD and the other OLED. Even though haptic touch exists, it’s not the same thing and 3DT did require different hardware and enabled different features, such as the screens on the 14P. This is barely 5 years ago, it’s not like you missed something about the iPhone 3G/3GS
My answer to each of your questions is a resounding NO! I just purchased the 14 plus and I love it! What appeals to me are the simple things that I look for in a PHONE…Sound, functionality and aesthetics.. the 14 plus works for me on all 3 areas!!

I think for a normal usage is perfect phone. Moms don’t need extra tech they just need a phone that calls text and take good pictures. And for that I think 14 plus is better and more then enough.

14 pro is so frustrating. Activating the Notification Center is pain in the ass. Hitting this tiny space between the upper border and the dynamic island is almost impossible. I always need to swipe 3-5 times till I’m able to activate it. Such an design failure from Apple. I hope the dynamic island will be gone next year

I bought this phone for my wife when she broke her iphone 12 pro. She loves it, says she gets so much better battery life. Its a cool phone for people that just want a nice big phone. I am waiting to replace my pro to see the iphone 15 thats interesting to me. If they make a tiatanium I am buying that.
As a photographer I really wanted the iPhone 14 pro, and may upgrade later in the year, but ordered a 14 regular size…. The price is so much higher on the Pro in my market, and the 2 main lenses which are all I usually use are almost identical. The lighter weight of the regular iPhones is a big deal too, and the pro-motion display means zero to me, most Iphone displays are excellent.

People are dogging the non-Pro models having the old A15 chip, but don’t forget it has 6gb of RAM which should help with performance and keeping apps from closing out on you. 🎉
I remember when people are criticizing the iPhone XR because of the lower screen resolution and later in 2019 it became the best selling iPhone of that time, I think it’s too early to tell though. The best selling point of the 14s are the satellite communication thing and crash detection which is a feature that we hope not to use but it is there when we need it, but for me 4k 30fps s of cinematic mode, and Action Mode for a cam I’m sold. But waiting for that iPhone 15 I’m still holding onto my iPhone XR for now

Out of all the iPhones I’ve had I think the XR is underrated. Amazing battery. The screen resolution didn’t bother me. And it had cool colors. I heard that the upcoming SE model will look like the XR.

I am a normal camera user but after I upgraded to the 14 pro and saw the differences from the regular camera I really love the proraw feature for the camera. Obviously I am not going to use it all the time because of storage but if I had the storage I would use the pro raw feature all the time honestly

I went and looked at it today and I loved how lightweight it was and the aluminum siding, but I couldn't stand the slower refresh rate. It was very noticeable. Once you've gone ProMotion, it's hard to go back.
Same! I absolutely LOVE the weight distribution and feeling in the hand on the 14 Plus. They nailed that. But darn if that display isn't a huge letdown when you see it next to the Pro Max.
I have the plus and for me it looks identical to 120hz. At first I thought it looked horrible but to my surprise reduce motion was on, once I turned it off and adjusted my cursor sensitivity it was soo fast and smooth.
Currently have a 13pm and very happy with it I wouldn’t mind having this as a second phone in product red !!!

Edit after using for 3 days- the battery life is absofrickinlutely AMAZING. The phone ran RUclips and subway surfers at the same time and for three hours only 20% deducted. Even better than the Pro Max 😱. You could use it for two whole days of constant usage (not “very” heavy usage tho)

everyone saying that just get the pro as it only adds 100$ and you get the pro features, but people forget once you get the pro the screen is smaller, the pro is only 6.1 inches. and the Plus is 6.7. And for me who is used to having big screens on my phones, that alone made me get a 14Plus over the pro

In South Africa the pice difference is huge so it makes sense to buy th 14 plus but most eople just go for the pro phones.

I traded my iPhone 10 max for this 14 plus. They had a promotion and they gave me $800 trade towards the 14 plus. I got a really good deal. The 14th and max was back order, I checked everywhere and no luck. So I decided to get the 14 plus for $100 after trade in.
I agree the reason why it didn’t sell well is because of the price very similar Samsung s22 and the s ultra most people will go with the more expensive model are the base model it’s very little wiggle room and these companies just don’t understand that

I upgraded from iPhone 12 to 14 plus and I love it!
All I can say is this phone is incredible,the only I don’t like is the front camera processing on photos,wish I could turn it off
