Soundcraft Signature MTK 12 Effects Demo

  • I was playing around with the effects and delays on my Soundcraft mixing desk, so I decided to make a short video showcasing some of them. Well that short video became a 10 minute long video! I hope you find it useful...
    I use an AudioThingies MicroMonsta to test out the delay and reverb effects on the Soundcraft Signature MTK 12. In this video I talk through how I've configured the channels on the Soundcraft to route audio from the MicroMonsta to the FX processor in the desk.
    The Signature MTK 12 is both a mixer and an audio interface. It provides all 12 input channels over USB into your DAW, and it offers channel 13/14 as an additional stereo output which is the final mix off the desk. So you have a choice of mixing each individual instrument in your DAW, or doing a live mix on the desk itself. Nice!

    I bought the 22 MTK this week, and it is... awesome. I can’t believe I can simultaneously record several tracks with so many instruments/mics on such a warm analog mixer for a mere £669. I advise that everyone buy Q-Code from Waves so it can sync/remember your EQ settings. When loading an old session in your DAW you won’t remember what you did, but the plugin will. Boom!

    So all 12 inputs can be passed via usb to a DAW as separate channels I have been looking for something to do that for a while now this could be the answer. Thanks for the share.

    • @SynthDad
      @SynthDad  4 года назад

      Inverted- Popes Yes - you can configure it to either pass all 12 inputs or just the stereo final mix (or both!). You can also send return tracks from your DAW back into the mixer to mix down into a stereo mix, for example if you want to send a track into a reverb effect in your DAW and then mix that back in on the final mix.

    • @SynthDad
      @SynthDad  5 лет назад +3

      JB DIGITAL RECORDING STUDIO That’s correct - the USB tap in the audio signal is pre-fader so it comes in dry to the DAW. However the reason for this is that you can add effects in your DAW (or record a dry take for later processing) and then do a USB return back onto the mixer and mix down using the faders and effects onto a stereo channel which you then can capture in your DAW. Master Left/Right comes out on channels 13&14 and that’s wet with effects.
