just came across your video i actually bought two of them to use for a community event coming up at my work. so as I understand so you need a powered PA speaker in order to use it. I have two Full Range Radio Shack Speaker that I currently use. from what i read and did reviews on and I got the impression that it would work on any PA speakers I also got the XLR to 1/4 inch adapter for it so when I plugged it in i got either no sound or the sound is very low but i can hear the Bluetooth sound threw the speaker any suggestion would be much appreciated

  • @onefatstratcat

While bluetooth is neat deal there are so many outside factors that can screw up transmission especially indoors at an event. The businesses wi-fi, everyone streaming stuff on their phones, people devices automatically trying to engage the receiver and of course any kind of physical obstruction. I mix for a local club dance band and use bluetooth to run the break music off my android tablet to the digital mixer. It never fails that I will have one gig that no matter if I put the BT receiver 10 feet away from the wi-fi on the mixer or anything else that i feel could cause an issue, I still have an issue..lol. That's when I break out my mp3 player, throw it on shuffle and hardwire it in the board. Then I go hide so no one can ask me to play anything :) Lesson is always have a backup plan when using any wireless system. Have a great one and play on!

    • @idjnow-gear-up

      Dennis,
With any sort of wireless signal units, even wired, if the volume is high up and the volume signal ends,
sometimes there could be a popping sound as the source engages.
We recommend turning down the volume on the source device.
      Thank you!

@@idjnow-gear-up Someone is giving technical support on this, which is all I want. My pair of these turns on and for half a second they are normal volume and then immediately go to being super quiet. I can only hear a little bit of high frequency noise. It doesn't matter if I'm using just one or both of them. Then with one plugged in, I can barely hear anything and then I open up RUclips to get tech support and the volume kicks in and the RUclips video is loud AND the music program is loud. If I MUTE the RUclips video, the music plays fine. Now if I link both ALTO's together then they sound terrible. One of them crackles and cuts in and out. As soon as I exit RUclips, the volume goes down so low that I can barely hear it. I've tried it on other Windows 10 laptops and the same thing happens. I've deleted them and reset them and paired them again and without using RUclips, I can't get sound. With RUclips, I get decent sound until I link both receivers together and then it sounds terrible. Any ideas please? I honestly don't think sending them back and getting another pair is going to be the answer but if you want me to do that, I'll do it.

    • @idjnow-gear-up

One bluetoothtotal to first speaker, and then you would use an XLR cable to link to your other speaker. If you plan on using two bluetoothtotals then you won't need the XLR cable.

No if you use one it will be a Stereo signal through both speakers instead of created a left and right. If you want a left and right you will need 2 devices and link via stereo on the unit itself.

The bluetooth totals are only designed to receive signal and then you can pair an additional one to split the signal. So to your question, the answer is no you cannot use one in your mixers output to send signal to another bluetooth total. You would want to use the Stealth Wireless for that.

However, since you already bought one device for wireless purposes...why adding a cable for a second one, start wireless and stay wireless. World of advice: read the manual it does have very important steps for making a suscess connection. THX

I just bought these, with the case, from IDJNOW. This product really sucks! As others mentioned it freezes up songs. My real problem is that sometimes when I turn them on (I have two for a pair of speakers with Windows 10), they only play out of the treble and have no bass and no volume. At other times it sounds so loud that my ears hurt and that is at half gain with the PC volume at 40%. I turned the switches down to -10 from 0. You never know what you're gonna get from these. One time you turn them on and the sound is quiet and has NO bass. Other times, rarely, both speakers work but one speaker is loud and overpowering and one speaker has hardly any sound and also the speaker with hardly any sound crackles and cuts in and out. I am 10 feet away on a new Dell XPS laptop. I thought this video would show how to link these up because the instructions are terrible. I hooked my first one up and paired it. Then I synced them as a pair but that didn't work. I then removed devices and started again. I paired both bluetooth adapters one at a time and it does now say ALTO TOTAL Pair. Still, one adapter shows the bluetooth light on and stereo link light on and the other adapter only shows a stereo light on. I've gotten both speakers to be equal volume ONE TIME but they sounded TERRIBLE. This isn't a setup video or help video like it should be. This is a great idea, but for $100 I expect them to work and to sound great and that clearly isn't the case.

@@idjnow-gear-up Not upset with IDJNOW. I'm upset with ALTO. I don't think they are bad units because both of them have the same problem. But, ALTO has NO technical support over the phone for this product. I reached out to IDJNOW and they said to call ALTO. I again reached out to IDJNOW and told them I want these and they replied saying that a return shipping label is on the way. ALTO can help with speakers or basic equipment, but they admit they are not equipped to help with bluetooth issues. They said they'd send me an email and they never did. ALTO even disabled comments on RUclips for this product. I WANT this product so if I send them back and re-order them, I very well could have the same problem again.

@@idjnow-gear-up I'm in the same boat as @Ted H...it's not an issue with distance cutouts or songs dropping, it is a major sound quality issue. Exaggerated treble, zero bass. Sounds like a 1990's $10 tape deck. And this is from inches away from the unit.

Hi Rachel. can I come to this wedding and play some tunes? how will you stop me doing so? no pass code meaning I can connect to your speakers without your consent and there's not much you can do. is this correct?

      Hello Marco,
you can try and call support at ALTO, but from what i know depending on the bluetooth device and the generation of bluetooth connection can have a connectivity issue on distance, however also another factor can be other interference I.E wireless devices in the area can be wireless routers etc. but even though i know at certain distances it can loose connection as i have one myself. over all its great. if you have any questions feel free to reach out.
      Thx

Suddenly at 1:30 the image doesn't fit my screen anymore. Are you shootin' vertical video? Suddenly at 1:30 your full deck seems to have lost a few cards of credibility. Would DJ girl put her left and right speakers side by side? I think it would sound better if you spread them apart, just as this video would look better if it filled my screen.

+4dBu not +4dB. It’s as opposed to -10dBv. If you’re going to mention it, you need to be a little more clearer on what that all means.

@1:50 OMG NO the -10dB pad is for attenuation. The +4dBu is the reference line level the device operates in. You really sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about if you mention something and make it up as you go along.
