@@bernabefernandeztouceda7315 Hey man, I get it. Iron Maiden is the best. We are all so passionate about the albums. I love Powerslave. Despite where I ranked it, I still give it a 9/10. As for Killers though... I'm not a big fan of the Dianno stuff, though I love when Bruce sings those songs. I just never got into that album. The song Killers (sung by Bruce) remains one of my favorites.
Powerslave is just incredible.. Thank you for this cool video man...this was awesome Maiden is my fav metal band powerslave was the first I heard at 6 years old... 6 years old I looked at that album cover and that was it...
Very nice list! I would put Senjutsju like in the middle though. Hell on Earth is one of my favorite Maiden songs, and there are a couple of very good ones like Lost in a Lost World, Stratego, Writing on the wall, among others. I would put Somewhere in Time a bit higher too! For me: 1) Seventh Son 2) Powerslave 3) Somewhere in Time
I think Bruce's voice improved from Book of Souls to Senjutsu. His voice was definitely straining on the former at times and is my only complaint with songs like "The Red and the Black". There is a slow decline with age, but I think his bout with throat cancer was a significant factor.
His voice has been struggling from 2006. He just doesn’t seem to realize it and Caveman Shirley is a yes man who can’t mix him well, or the instruments to be sure.
Final Frontier Somewhere in Time Piece of Mind Seventh Son Powerslave No Prayer for the Dying Killers Number of the Beast Brave new World Book of Souls Iron Maiden A Matter of Life and Death Senjutsu Fear of the Dark Dance of Death X Factor Virtual XI It took me ages to decide but thats the order. Final Frontier is just amazing. Been a fan since '86.... To quantify things plainly; I feel the weakest track on Final Frontier is Eldorado. This song is still better than Charlotte the Harlot, Drifter, Gangland, Invaders, Quest for Fire, Sun and Steel, Losfer Words, Back inthe Village and Can I play with Madness. SiT is difficult as all its tracks are arguably better than Eldorado. That was difficult to decide. Every album they have released has at least 1 legendary masterpeice, even Virtual XI. FF has Starblind, Talisman, Final Frontier and When the Wild Wind Blows at least and possible The Man Who Would Be King...... so its about the lows really not the highs to make any seperation. Additionally FF has the energy and pace Maiden are known for unlike AMOLAD. BNW and DoD had this but are patchier over all. They also manage to be concise but progressive unlike the next 2 albums. FF is the sweet spot of complxity and progressive but also energetic and never laboured.
Interesting ranking. I was shocked to see that Senjutsu is your worst. My ranking keeps changing, but Senjutsu is an album I really love. The only albums I don't like, as a fan of over 30 years, are the first 2 albums with Dianno and Virtual XI.
Don't agree with all of your picks but I really respect your opinion! My personal favourite album is Somewhere in Time. It's just banger after banger and the cover artwork is phenomenal.

Am I the only one that have 'Fear of the Dark' in his favourite top3? (Actually, it's my no1 most favourite album, 'Number of the Beast 2nd' and 'Piece of Mind 3rd').
I think a bunch of the albums you ranked low require more time and deep listens to click. The classic era benefits greatly from this for most fans, but the modern era deserves just as much time to digest. You’re not going to listen to a record from 2021 the same as you listen to one that shaped your childhood. For example, Hell on Earth from Senjutsu became my favorite Maiden song after repeated listens, after being a fan for 30 years.
Thank you for a great comment! There’s definitely a few I’d like to try again! That can happen quite often with me… I’ll give it a 7/10 first time… then a 9/10 on the second listen 🤷♂️😂 thanks for watching 😊

The band that changed my life, but let's be honest: everything is over when "Seventh Tour" has ended in 1989. After that they became something else. The weight, the creativity, the grip, the speed, all of this was gone at that moment. R.I.P.
I’ve seen someone else say something similar regarding seventh tour! You may be on to something! It’s certainly my favourite of the latter albums. Thanks for watching 😊
Man, the biggest gripe I have with Piece of Mind is one song. Quest for Fire. Hearing that after all the great songs that came before it just makes me sad and wonders how a song that poor even made it to the album. I don't know if this is a controversial take but I consider Quest for Fire to be one of the worst Maiden songs to date.
Yes!!! I’m actually right there with you on quest for fire! I like it but only ironically 😂 it’s such an odd little track but it does make me smile 😂 thanks for watching 😊

It’s because the drummer and guitarist of Gypsies Kiss/Smiler came with him to form Maiden… only to later leave and be replaced. It does get confusing especially in the early years! Maiden went through SO many members when starting out, but just going off what the Iron Maiden RUclips Channel taught me 😂 thanks for watching
But that's not exactly true either; drummer Doug Sampson left Smiler at the same time as Harris and joined Iron Maiden but only three years later in 1978 (and played on The Soundhouse Tapes). I don't know who that guitarist would be.
Wow! I didn’t know that at all! 🤯 that really does change things regarding book of souls! From thinking his voice is struggling at times, I’m now frankly impressed! 👏 thank you for an excellent comment and for watching 😊
Wow, there's some great albums at the bottom but we're not all the same but i will say i think you're over thinking it while not thinking it through enough.
The moment that you put Killers at 7th below FEAR, I quit watching.. and just skipped along.. I like your top 3 a bit, but not my top choices, IMHO.🙂 For me Is the 1st, Killers, POM, PS, TNOtB, SIT & 7so7s! For me the rest is just Bleh! Especially since Bruce has become an absolute Ahole in concert! Like youis the "Silent" Dave who has been there all along doing his thing, which is weird as we Neverhear about or from him.. Though I may be wrong on this.
Hell on Earth Death of the Celts Writing on the Wall The Parchment Stratego All very good songs! (In this decreasing order in my opinion). I also really like the eponym Senjutsu, but I know many fans don't really like it. Dunno why. It is slow and heavy, but still a masterpiece if you ask me. :)
@@ffarkasm hell on Earth is amazing, Death of the Celts is boring, Writing on the Wall is bad, The parchment is ok but could be much better if it had more going on
As someone on the other side of the pond who was in high school when Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, and Powerslave came out, I mostly agree with your ratings. The first time I heard of Iron maiden was when I saw Piece of Mind displayed prominently in Auditory Audicacy in North Hollywood, CA. That artwork was absolutely dominating. But the first actual album I listened to was Number of the Beast. And that album had a theme that was really targeted at our side of the pond. 666 was targeted at the "Moral Majority" types who were trying to censor music because of "backmasking" satanic verses. So Air Raid and company said "fuck it" and put it right in their artwork. But of course, the most relevant song to our side of the pond was "Run to the Hills". In 4 minutes, it managed to strip 17 years of whitewashing our history away and at the time, I knew it was correct. And "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (also targeting our racist death penalties) was the absolute metal shred. It was the song that made me a Maiden fan for the last (checks calendar) 40 years.

@@cri774 thank you for such a great comment 😊 a few people have said I need to retry a matter of life and death! I may have to admit I was wrong 🫣😂 thanks again!
Okay, I have to give my ranking, if for no other reason than I really respect and appreciate yours and want to share my own. I guess I feel like I'm in the company of Maiden fans, which means I'm in the company of family. So...
1. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - because it brought me into metal and Maiden and I've never looked back
2. Brave New World
3. Caught Somewhere in Time
4. Senjutsu
5. Number of the Beast
6. Final Frontier
7. Dance of Death

11. A Matter of Life and Death

13. Book of Souls

@@bernabefernandeztouceda7315 I hope it's okay. Let me know if I'm in the wrong for expressing my opinion and love for the greatest band of all time.
@@danw4490 you can't have Killers at the bottom of the pit. It's not allowed. Powerslave 10?? You CAN'T
You know why you don’t like Senjutsu? You haven’t really HEARD it!! First 3 songs and last 3 songs are all epic..
I love Hell on Earth ❤
No it wasn’t the RUclips audio quality, senjutsu’s production is god awful on CD too, sounds like it was recorded in a Tupperware container

Powerslave is just incredible..
Thank you for this cool video man...this was awesome
Maiden is my fav metal band powerslave was the first I heard at 6 years old...
For me: 1) Seventh Son 2) Powerslave 3) Somewhere in Time
Seventh Son was on another level
Such a great album! The next one to get on my vinyl shopping list! Thanks for watching 😊
I think Bruce's voice improved from Book of Souls to Senjutsu. His voice was definitely straining on the former at times and is my only complaint with songs like "The Red and the Black". There is a slow decline with age, but I think his bout with throat cancer was a significant factor.
His voice is much stronger in Senjustu
He had throat cancer while recording book of souls.
His voice has been struggling from 2006. He just doesn’t seem to realize it and Caveman Shirley is a yes man who can’t mix him well, or the instruments to be sure.
@@troywilkinson160 he's sounded really good the last two tours I saw them on.

Iron Maiden

Senjutsu

It took me ages to decide but thats the order.
And the lyrics..made you start looking up stuff...that's what maiden did for me as a kid . My personal..fav 7th son and powerslave
I like the objective/subjective approach. Great, thanks! Fear of the Dark is my favorite album even though it's not their best indeed.

Pretty much agree with your assessments, except I don't think 'Seventh Son' deserves to outrank any albums that preceded it.
that’s fair, I’ve seen a few rank it a bit lower than I have 😊 thanks for watching 😊

Man, the biggest gripe I have with Piece of Mind is one song. Quest for Fire. Hearing that after all the great songs that came before it just makes me sad and wonders how a song that poor even made it to the album. Surely Iron Maiden has never been known as Smiler or Gypsy’s Kiss?
Steve Harris just played in those bands before forming Iron Maiden.
