I'm not surprised. Not since this was back in the 90's. When gaming was starting to become more popular/mainstream but wasn't even remotely close to what it's like today. Today though of course this would never fly.
@@JRStorm71 Alien 3 on SNES was also good, The Spider-Man TAS game was also good. Spider-Man & X-Men also wasn't bad. And surprisingly, the Game Boy version of Bill & Ted was alright.
Holy shit! this is awesome! Thanks for the info! I used to play this game when I was 8, now I'm 37 and was playing it on the guitar and thinking "damn! this guys who recorded this midi solo had some amazing taste!"
When I was 12 when this came out to rent on both systems I noticed it’s Mob Rules as I did taped and saw the 1981 adult animation movie classic Heavy Metal when I was 9 going on 10
Y'know what's funny? When LJN gets super popular franchises with high acclaim to make games out of, they end up turning out shit. And yet, when they adapt Maximum Carnage, a rather unpopular event at the time of its release (Though I wouldn't say complete shit), they get their best, if not only good, game out of it. LJN is like a success reversal machine in that regard.
What I thought Maximum Carnage was a very good event. In fact, I didn't expect something so violent coming from Marvel, not to say Spiderman. It was fairly popular here, advertised and etc Though I admit I loved it because of Venom... and Carnage became one of my favorites too.
You have to remember something about LJN. They never actually developed anything themselves. They only published games. They would obtain licenses to popular movies and franchises and simply find a developer to make the games. Rare made several LJN games including A Nightmare on Elm Street and Beetlejuice. Atlus made Friday the 13th. By the time Maximum Carnage was released, LJN had been bought by Acclaim and existed mostly as a brand rather than an actual company. So that probably explains why Maximum Carnage fared better than other LJN games.
It's not a rip-off. It's a near exact 16 bit rendeition of the song. Not surprised they did this. Gaming was def becoming more mainstream etc. But not even close to what it's like today. So I doubt whatever record label owns the rights ever even noticed/heard about it etc. Nor am I knocking them for it. It's awesome, and impressive. Plus it's not like the composer just copy pasted the song. They had to create a whole new 16 bit rendeition of it.
The other night I had a dream this game was being remade. I was watching a trailer for it and the lady said this song was being covered by Yello. It made me so angry that it made me wake up.
They should have gotten these guys back to compose the music for the Spiderman PS4 game. And even for the Spiderverse animated film. Both which are fuckin brilliant.
I like how the game's soundtrack sounds like Guilty gear if it was in the SNES, in other words, the original Guilty Gear X soundtrack, which is a positive thing.
The Nerd: And what do I hear? ("The Mob Rules" by Black Sabbath plays) It's The Mob Rules by Black Sabbath! I don't mean it just sounds similar, it's the same song! Just a 16-bit rendition. It even does the solo! (16-bit rendition of Black Sabbath's "The Mob Rules" solo plays) I think it was just a rip-off, and that they never got Black Sabbath's permission, but it's still welcome to hear and adds to this game's enjoy-ability.
Maximum Carnage, Royal Rumble and Raw were about the only things LJN got right. While I was also a fan of Wrestlemania Steel Cage Challenge, I recognize it wasn't all that great.
I know you made this comment 2 years ago, but you can get all the tracks in there original format here snesmusic - .org /v2/ You'll need winamp and the plugin for it.

Shithouse.
It's Morbin' time, y'all!
Indeed it is morbin time 😎
Holy shit your right dude, the opening is suspiciously similar to the mob rules
If you listen to fools...THE MOB RUUUUULES!!!
Carnage is just the right amount of difficult when you face him as Spidey and Venom. He's tough but not impossible.
Unless you get caught in that double-axe walk he does, then you're fucked. 😂
This soundtrack is so badass
90s and 80s were the decades for macho men and rock and roll
Right...
Concidering what was happening in the comics Mob Rules seems pretty appropriate.
Honestly considering all the DMCA shit nowadays, I'm surprised LJN never got sued by Black Sabbath.
From the looks of it, things were calmer in the 90s.
It's actually crazy when you think about it. Parts of Ice Cap from Sonic 3 is literally just Hard Times.

The bass in this track is so big it'll shake the floor and the sub so much it's crazy awesome
Most of it is just the original songs bass lines (Mob Rules, Black Sabbath)
For a LJN game, it's not too bad. This song prove it.
IF YOU LISTEN TO FOOOOOOLS! THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOB RULEEEEEEEEEES
If we’re ever gonna get a venom 2, it’s probably gonna have Carnage in it. I WOULD WANT THIS(or just the mob rules) TO PLAY IN IT
You were right on the money with that Carnage prediction. ;)
this game was so awesome and good lord the soundtrack!

kinda like Alien 3 (NES, not Genesis) wasn't that bad of a game. It's playable.

But Allister Brimble composed the rendition of The Mob Rules.
Could’ve sworn it was Kenji Yamamoto...
He also did Driver 1-2 music

Who knew that the SNES would have rocking tunes.
You should keep an eye on Rock and Roll Racing and Biker Mice From Mars too
