    Hey there mate! What a great review. Personal, informative and engaging. So stoked that you're liking the blade and that the wait is all worthwhile.
    Regarding horizontal/crossdraw carry on the back of strap that hold the spine in you should be able to slide the belt through there and it'll work just fine. The dangler is connected with a d ring and can be opened up and removed with a pair of pliers if needbe. Give it a crack and let me know how it goes. If yours isn't capable of that send some pics through and I'll look into it further as it' s standard for that design.
    A big thanks goes out to you for agreeing to be a guinea pig on this new style of handle and being so understanding during the delays while we got your knife perfect. I'm sure it'll serve you well going forward.
    Take care,
    Andrew

    Kailash are fantastic. I held one of their Falo at Sydney knife show. I was impressed at it's functionality. I got a custom Pensioner from them and it's a lovely blade. They are helping the other manufacturer's really step up the game.

      A little bit of competition hasn't hurt the nepalese knife scene one bit I'd say!

    Another advantage of how kailash quenches and hardens the blade is the whole edge is hardened properly. Many times with the water quench only the sweet spot is properly hardened.
    I have a Kailadh Mutiny on the way.

    I'm glad I watched your video and also enjoyed your comments. Good and down to Earth. I've been trying to decide which model to order. I also wondered about all the polishing and grinding that goes into a finished blade and whether they cool them down sufficiently while doing that. I too also wondered about whether they might break exactly where you pointed out. I hate to get the Falo in that rough finish, but it makes the most sense for the long haul for one that may be used hard. Actually though, each time I see one pictured, I like the shape and angles of that design.
    The only other thing I've been wondering is if I should ask for a guard to be put on to safely keep my hand from ever sliding forward. Any thoughts on that?

    • @pathrst
      @pathrst  Год назад

      That’s a good thought. The ridges in the grip do a good job of that when held properly. But there is no loss in serious safety.

    My Kailash kukuri is due in Thursday. I don't anticipate being disappointed, on the contrary I am expecting to be very impressed. That said, my next kukuri will be another Kailash or one from Tora.

    I've enjoyed this review and am looking at a couple of Kukri's from Kailash. Question- How did you break the other three knives and who were the manufacturers? Thanks!

      @@pathrst Thank you! I was seriously ordering from KHHI until I read quite a few reviews. I was also considering Himalayan Imports, but I've lost patience using their website and they do not micarta handles.
      So what is your opinion on the full (panawal) type tang vs rat tail? I think I've got it down to the Falo or the Panawal.

    Really nice video ! Just bought two knives from them they really seem to do quality knives. I've had two kukris yet and both were sharpened crowbars and way too fucking thick to be carried and used properly. Still think the same about yours after 3 years ? Cheers

    I have had pretty decent luck with the traditional khukuri, not from Kailash-yet. But I do have an original Scourge that Andrew designed with another khukuri house before having to walk away from them for various reasons. I have a few others from that same khukuri house and fully intend on ordering at least one more khukuri, this time a Kailash in the future. One of the khukuri I have (a 10" bladed traditional hidden tang in rosewood) has a forging defect in the spine area and despite a lot of testing abuse it has held up pretty good.
    I would expect a Kailash khukuri to be even better.

  • @Voimakas
    @Voimakas 4 года назад +1

    Kailash is awesome. They made a custom khukuri for me for woods work and it just keeps hacking. Now to wait for my Nepali take on the Finnish puukko.

    That’s quite an endorsement! Been looking at them feeling out the history and others that own their blades. Personally Tora is the best of the best and they have an increased resale value where other companies don’t and there is a reason fr it.

    • @pathrst
      @pathrst  3 года назад

      Never owned a tora, myself. But that’s what I hear. Kailash is still a pretty new company so time will tell with them. As for now, they are quite good.

      Tots Bldes is literally top of the line! Your lucky to find these on the secondary market like eBay and they sell every time so they have a high resale value. Go to the site and order yourself a blade but they are on pre-order right now which is 3-4 month wait unfortunately, but if your patient it’s well worth it!)))
