This butterfly is depiction of a common symptom (butterfly rash) present in SLE (Systemic lupus erythematosus). Most of you might not be aware of this disease but there are many people whose lives have totally changed because of this autoimmune disease and they are suffering and battling with lupus daily.
I am one of them, and I know how it feels to get your dreams shattered because of a mere disease condition. Your personal and professional life gets affected, you see your friends, family and people around you change. Your life revolves around frequent infections, hospitalization, immunosuppressive drugs, steroids, dietary and lifestyle changes. You wake up tired everyday even after sleeping for 10-12hrs, you can't go out in the sun because of photosensitivity. You can't wear your favourite dresses because you don't fit in them anymore due to the frequent weight changes. You have to make adjustments in your career choices and ambitions. On some days you want to conquer the world, whereas on some days you just can't gather the energy to come out of bed or take a shower.
We all are fighting and giving our best. This is for all the lupus warriors, take one day at a time, you are more than your disease condition. And you are not alone....
