Always continuing to make your products better and better for your customers Chris. That's why us in the LSG community love your products and promote you when we can. I had to educate a Traeger rep about your pellet smoker this past weekend. He had no clue about LSG... Trust me, he does now. Can't wait to see what you do next!!!
Thanks for all you do.
Traeger is Chinese shit
How does the throat directing the air up to affect draw and the overall convection into the chamber? I’d love a video explaining more scientifically how this works
Hey man. Great that you are offering the collector option across the line.
Still having problem with your videos where it only plays out of right ear bud. Yours are the only videos that do that. Not sure why. Figured you’d want to know.
Having that option on all of your offset smokers is just awesome!!
Thanks
It sure is awesome, although the stack seems relatively narrow IMO. And I hope they will be available in Europe aswell.
Thanks Chris!!! This is awesome news!!! you just perfected what you already had perfect! Will tuning plates still be required on the upgraded Traditionals??
Tuning plates are included on these pits but not required, thats a personal preference and thats why we make them removable and adjustable.
What does a smoke collector do?

Chris, I ordered the 42" pellet smoker last month. Would it make sense to put the smoke collector on it?
@@Sweeptheleg1969 TL/DR: it should add more convection air flow.
Context: Theoretically, it acts as a heat sink which forces more air towards the stack. I believe it should add a little more heat evening, end to end (although, with the plates, you can get within 5 degrees - based on my experience both with a dual-door 60" with 30" vertical trailer I just received, and the 48" single door backyard unit I have owned for several years). primarily, it (likely) adds more convection and airflow - because the heat sink/collector (which is what this is typically called, a "heat collector" not "smoke collector"). that end result is going to be likely a better bark. my only 'nit' about the LSG amazing products has been what I believe to be a lower airflow rate on the stack - because i felt it was almost too short, on the backyard unit. i did some measurements, and with my new trailer, which has the vertical and double 5" stacks at the top, has almost 3X the airflow compared to the single stack. this is mainly because it is taller, and has more airspace to draw that heat across the pipe unit (i think, but i'm not a physicist).
Bottom line: LSG makes incredible products. this is a great upgrade, IMO, and it should add more convection air flow.
@@daryand wow what a thorough answer. Thank you very much!
Another refinement to evolution of the "PIT." If you look at all the little details that go into these Pits it is quite amazing.
Thanks
The real question is - does it make a difference or do people just want it because they see it on other smokers?
These smokers look awesome and I am sure they are worth the price. But would buy something so substantial for just 2 people, most of the time? What would you recommend for just my wife and myself We live in the NE part of the country and my gasser (Weber 310) has seen its better days and I am interested in smoking and would like the ability to sear steaks/burgers as well. Thanks so much!
lonestargrillz.com/collections/smokers/products/20-x-36-offset-smoker this is our smallest smoker yet still has enough capacity to feed a crowd for those occasions.
I would like the smoke collector on your pellet smokers. Plus I would the ability to condense the smoke into a liquid.
Hey Chris can you explain the use of the square firebox compared to most others who use a round fire chamber.
Also, many others are asking for it but I’m actually kinda glad to see that you didn’t add the griddle and lid to the firebox on this pit. They’re cool but I really don’t think I’d ever use it. Keep that cost down!
This pit is exactly what I’m looking for. A simple straightforward reasonably priced offset without all the add ons.
If you take a 24” cylinder (round fire box) and a 24” cube (square fire box) the square has roughly 27% more volume. This provides for better and cleaner combustion and an overall more efficient smoker.
Lonestar grills are becoming the one stop shop for all custom made grills!!!
Are your grill and smokers made with 1/4 inch Mild Steel?
Yes at a minimum, we also offer the fire box in 1/4'' thick steel.
Chris will a pellet version be built later on with this Texas edition and the smoke collector?
Its possible but we dont have any plans right now.
So what's the point of the smoke collector?
see above. :)
Chris does it make sense to put a smoke collector on the 42 pellet?
Not on the pellet smoker.
Dang it, have to update my order yet again.
No problem just give us a call.
Is the lead time still a few months?
Yes
