An affordable alternative to the hydroflask is the one from Simple Modern on Amazon. I left mine in my Jeep with the top off on a 90° day and the water was still cold hours later. When I take it to school, the ice stays all day. And there are tons of color options.

What's funny is my district used your Google Classroom videos for our Google Classroom training. It's great getting PD via RUclips. Thanks for the book recs! If you want an eyeopening read, you should read White Fragility. I can't remember the author's name, but it's a great read. I learned a lot. Our back to school plan only changed three times this week. :)
One of my Kindergartners taught that game to me in the Spring and it was so much fun! I will admit: I lost EVERYTIME! (But so worth seeing the excitement on his face sharing his favorite game)
I also love Jodi P. books.. they are my true relaxation books. I need to re-read the Beverly Tatum book: she taught where I went to college, I may have taken a intro to psych class with her. For math, we use a lot of Greg Tang materials and his new online materials are amazing-but very costly for buildings.
It’s always nice to have a chill down relaxing video every once in a while. I love your PD recommendations especially now with how math instruction has changed over the years. Your district I think got it right with virtual until February (I’m sitting here in VA thinking my old school district is going in-person, while the district i currently live in is virtual the first marking period of 9 weeks). The games you and Billy play make me laugh so hard. The card game reminds me of SPIT and Spoons. It is so much more fun if you had more people playing!!
What will you be doing for your classroom in August? Since I am teaching virtually, but don't have a class list or know what curriculum we are using I don't know what to do now to prep for the virtual year.

Teachers in my district go back tomorrow (8/3) and I’m so sad I’m going to lose my new routine of walking, working in my yard, reading, etc. Do you plan to keep your routine once you are “back” at school? It takes very little change to my schedule for me to self-sabotage! 😜

Hello Michelle and all her followers, I am a newly graduated elementary teacher and am looking for some advice. I graduated in the midst of the COVID pandemic (cut my student teaching short, turned in an alternative EDTPA, etc.) and am now on the hunt for a teaching position, however as the school year approaches and more and more schools are on hiring freezes I am feeling pretty stuck. I am not sure if I should be applying for teaching jobs that simply aren't there or if I should plan to continue on and get my masters while I work in a different field. I have heard that it isn't necessarily recommended to get your masters before stepping into your own classroom but I feel I am running out of choices. I have been out of work since I started my student teaching and the pressure to find a job is mounting given that I don't qualify for unemployment and my field is in hiatus at the moment. You are a voice of reason in the teaching realm I trust and would appreciate your thoughts!
Do you by any chance, have good PD books for ELA? I teach 3rd grade and I was teaching last year just Math/Science. Now I am teaching all subjects. So I wanted to brush up on my ELA.
