"I thought you were dead..." Great to see Snake get his due.
(Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken voice) "I am."
I agree, kaijuchevrolet! ;)
I can't believe how so many people are down on this figure, it looks
amazing in person. I have wanted a Snake Plissken figure for years
and it was well worth the wait, as far as I'm concerned! It was really
hard to put together though. (it took me even longer than putting the
Sideshow Boba Fett together) His leather jacket was super tight to his
body (especially his arms) so you could damage it very easily taking
it off and on. Plus, mine has a messed up gun holster on his left hip,
that wouldn't close like it was supposed to. A lot of people would
complain, but I still love it. I highly recommend this figure! ^_^
you are my favorite reviewer on the RUclips !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! Thank you, themanascos!
(I'm not gonna lie: I may get that quote of yours printed on a T-shirt,
so if I ever get depressed, all I gotta do is look down and read it and I'll
instantly feel better. haha!) ^_^
Fu-Reviews im also really happy the you focused on the art insert everyone else ignored it, that image is AMAZINGG
It really is! I've already measured it and as soon as I buy a 9"x14" frame, it's going straight onto the wall! It'd be an awesome piece to get autographed one day! ^_^
awesome review man
for those interested here is the artist blog fabianmonk.tumblr.com/
I fully recommend that! Thanks for the link, themanascos! ;)
I need to contact him to see if he'd autograph my insert of his art! ^_^
Haha, great review man! I have to agree, being a big collector of hot toys and xplus, it's a great figure! Likeness is excellent and it might not be 100% accurate, but its 95% accurate enough and the best we've ever had and probably are ever gonna get. I not pick alot myself and am very happy with this figure. Just got mine the other day and dig it. Stop complaining people, awesome figure and review!
Amen, nicknasty14! You summed it up perfectly! ;)
I think a lot of people forget what it was like before we had a
1/6 Snake Plissken. Back then, people whined that they didn't
have one available to buy and now they whine that it's not "good
enough." Sheesh people, just take it out of the box and play with
it, you might like it. ;)
You know, mine ended up having a broken holster and I still love it.
I think that says a lot in itself.
I'm glad you were able to get one, Nick, and also you enjoy yours as
much as I do mine. It really is an awesome figure! Plus, it looks really
cool just standing there on the shelf. Mine currently looks like he's
teamed up with Boba Fett. haha!
Thank you so much for the kind words and I hope you laughed at least
once while watching my silly review. ^_^
TIME PARADOX
in case you want more info on the box art, the artists name is Fabian Schlaga and here is a link to a really cool WIP look at the piece in question, before it was cropped to the box

Feathered hair is nigh impossible to pull off on figure, and is really the only issue I see with the figure, the hair just looks a bit "flat" if you will, but by no means does that really matter to me, just if I was looking for things that I think could be improved upon that's where I'd start
My love of those movies is secondary to my love of MGS, and Kojima, entirely owing to the order in which I was introduced to them, well that, and the fact that Kojima is as much a Stanley Kubrick fanboy as I as am
I love both escape from NY, and escape from LA, the silly played straight attitude is probably my favorite thing about them, they just go for it all out embracing the insanity, instead of throwing exposition on it in an attempt to legitimize it
But it's really hard to compete for my affection, when one side has giant robots, its my largest bias, so solid snake always wins out in my mind lol
I'm sure you'll be ok, you have a time machine after all, so felzbug or gubzlef can go back in time to warn you, and you can take any number of preventative measures
Off the top of my head, you could transplant your brain into a terminator endoskeleton, steal wolverines genetic material and give yourself his regenerative abilities, take it a step further and infuse yourself with adamantium, or just go back and stop yourself from hiring her in the first place, or you could just apologize to her I suppose lol
Thanks for the lulz Fu!
"TIME PARADOX" Hehe, it's like you totally get me. (or maybe you
have also been to the future and see what's coming next.) ^_^
Thanks for the artist's name! While I was downloading this video, I
actually did get curious look up the artist that drew that Snake Plissken
picture and I LOVE that work in progress versions and the finished product!
It really is a perfect work of art. I've already measured the flap and as soon as
I pick up a frame, it's going right on the wall! ;)
Yeah, I agree about the hair on the figure. There are certain angles it looks
perfect, but it could do with a bit more body. Although, I'm looking over at it
in the shelf right now, and I have to say it looks pretty good.
Oh man, don't get me started on Metal Gear Solid: I love it and it's one
of my all-time favourite games. I'm not much of a gamer, but I fell in love
with MGS and played it all the way through a couple of times. (that's rare
for me, since I tend to get really stuck in games and quit after awhile.)
To me, that one and the 2nd one were perfect games and it's right there
with Bioshock and Uncharted as my favourite videogame series of all
time.
Speaking of Metal Gear, I was just watching some more of the in-game
footage of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain yesterday and it
looks amazing. I absolutely love the character designs and animation,
plus the game world itself looks HUGE! It does throw me off hearing
Jack Bauers voice (and not David Hayter's) coming out of Big Boss, but
since I love Kiefer Sutherland, I can still overlook it. ;)
Oh, and your suggestions to fix my current exploded situation cracked
me up! Like I said, I think you get me! hahaha!
Hope you're doing well, man! ^_^
Yeah MGS is one of a very small number of franchises I will buy practically anything even tangentially related to it on blind faith, and I plan to buy a PS4 solely so that I can play MGSV, in fact I bought my PS3 to play MGS4 even sprung for the gunmetal MGS4 themed bundle
The series basically invented the term "meta", and to date, has what I consider to be the best Easter eggs of any game ever, stuff put in purely for fun that makes no sense whatsoever, just like you, don't get me started on MGS or we'll be here all night, also Yoji Shinkawa is one of my favorite artists, the aesthetic he brought to the series just blew me away as a teen, his art is just so visceral and emotive despite its impressionistic style,
I seriously considered picking up the 3A metal gear Rex, and the upcoming metal gear ray, but I just don't have the space to display them locked in combat a la MGS4, so I settled on the kotobukiya 1/100 model kits, and they are pretty fantastic, if in need of paint
Ok, ok , got to catch myself from going on forever, glad to have struck a chord, aside from mutual interests I have certainly felt you were "in my head" during some of your reviews, in both your humor and views regarding figures, happy to see that it wasn't just me projecting perceived similarities in taste and reasoning
P.S. I really really really hope Frank Jaeger (Gray Fox) shows up in The Phantom Pain!!!!
Lol, gr8 review, my ears hurt a bit but it was worth it.
Haha! Why thank you very much, shellsbignumber2! ;)
I'm so sorry about hurting your ears, but hearing that the pain was
worth it, is the best compliment ever! ^_^
awesome!! great review as always, i hope i can get one by next paycheck.
keep up the great work. been watching, for awhile love your work. my 1st time leaving you a comment.
Why, thank you very much, Edgar! ;)
I hope you're able to get one, too! I think it's a pretty awesome figure.
Like I told kaijuchevrolet above, this figure took some time to get all of
his gear on and a lot of squinting while watching the movie, (since it's
so dark) but I wanted to be sure where everything went. Be very careful
if you want to remove his jacket and display him in his tank top. The jacket
is very tight to his arms and the material is pretty thin, so really make up your
mind if you want him in the jacket or not. I don't recommend taking it off and
on a lot. (but I'm just guessing, it's probably fine)
I understand about having to wait until your next paycheck. I was only able
to get mine with because I had points on Sideshow. (I got $29 off, which
really helped) I don't know if this figure applies, but the current Sideshow
$20 off discount code is YEAR15 (like I said, I'm not sure if it'll work on
this figure, but it's worth a try if you plan to order from their website.) ^_^
What a crazy waitress! Good review though Fu!
Haha! Well, Fu did flirt with her and got what he deserved.
I mean, he didn't deserve to get blown up, but... it happens. ;)
I guess the clues were there that she had the potential to blow him
up, I mean, she was dressed like a G.I. Joe, for crying out loud. :P
