  • In this video, I will walk you through the process of how i build a stone wall for the electric fireplace and the TV on top. I love how it turned out, please enjoy and maybe you will get inspired. This may be nothing special for most of you, but for me it turned out just how I envisioned it.
    Stone used: Home Depot: MS International Picasso Ledger Panel’s.

    Thanks for the video. I am about to commence the install of my fireplace similar to yours. Appears as though the fireplace cannot be removed for any service unless the stone is removed...correct?

    When your fireplace takes a crap and you need to replace it, then what? You have to break and stone and get the the fireplace then replace the whole thing again?

    Why did you permanent mount the fireplace behind the hardy board? If you ever needed to replace the fireplace you'd have to tear down the wall again?

    Im not pro but the angle on your trowel might not get all the coverage on that stone even with the backbutter....either way nice work and That feeling when you add that last piece of stone is priceless

    The fireplace heating is does not bad for the tv?

  • @tisnigkanick5014
    @tisnigkanick5014 6 лет назад +2

    I like your setup quite a bit. I've been hearing crap that mounting a tv over a fireplace without a mantel can cause damage due to rising heat. Any truth to that? I'm in the process of trying to get mantel removed from the construction of my fireplace, but they're telling me I'll have to delete the option of tv hooksup as well due to this issue.

    • @beautifullife4847
      @beautifullife4847  6 лет назад

      Nicholas Lee yes and no. It depends on the idle of the fireplace. This one radiates heat to the front not top. So this works perfectly fine without the mantle

    Guys do you agree that TV flushed to the wall looks better than recessed ?

    • @beautifullife4847
      @beautifullife4847  5 лет назад +1

      Yes it does and more functional as well. With TV recessed, while it looks sharp, but you really are losing the angle viewing.

    • @AMindInOverdrive
      @AMindInOverdrive 5 лет назад +1

      I would worry that if it is recessed and the TV develops a fault in a few years, how difficult will it be to get a tv to match the exact opening of the recess.....seems better to have it the way this guy did it - he's not limited to a size and can even get a larger or smaller tv any time he wants

    Thanks for sharing. This looks great. I'm planning to do something similar very soon. I also need to build a new wall like yours since I can't reuse the existing wall due to duct work in it. I have a question for the sides of the wall. How do you cover the edge of the stones where they meet the (old) drywall? I may run into the same issue since I have a very similar layout as yours. Thanks.

    I really like everything about the way you built this. It looks very professional. But I have a question: is there a way to build it so that one could pull out the electric fireplace in case it stops working at some point in the future? Thank you in advance.

    • @beautifullife4847
      @beautifullife4847  6 лет назад +1

      That is a very good observation and question. Yes, i can still remove the front glass and service it that way. However, if the entire thing needs to be taken out then No.

      Beautiful Life Thanks for your reply! I've already ordered my fireplace and stone and I'm trying to figure out how to build mine to look as nice as yours. I really appreciate your video.

    • @beautifullife4847

      Good luck with your project, be patient and enjoy it. Make sure to use the angle grinder, it cuts this type of stone very nice instead of wet saw. Another thing to be VERY careful about is the distance from the floor to the bottom line of the fireplace. When i put my fire place in place and everything was ready for stones, it turned out from the flower to lower bottom of fireplace line, I needed three rows and another only 2 inches. So instead of creating that 2 inch cut stone line on top, I pushed it to the bottom by initially using shims (2 inches) on the base line. Then when i was all done, i came back to the bottom 2 inch and hat to cut each stone. It was pain. I hope you can picture what i am trying to say here. Just make sure to measure AND ALSO LEVEL each row.

      Beautiful Life Oh my gosh, thanks for the additional tips! I probably would have messed that up, haha. I really appreciate it!

    Does the tv need space so it can get air flowing in the back or no

    • @beautifullife4847
      @beautifullife4847  4 года назад

      There is no specific requirements, but here it does have about 3 inches of space.

      @@serenaabarca7048 I ordered a signal sender to send the signals to my televisions all over the house. A good one is pricey but completely worth not having to run wires all over or worry about unsightly electronics in the area. One cable box in my spare room sends the signal to my kitchen, Livingroom and basement TV's. These are TV's that are rarely watched at the same time. And with the new Optimum box, the one remote will change the channel in any room.
