Yeah , i understand why you would want to. You get more horsepower and everything manual so no EGR valves or OBD computer, even the fuel pump is manual . I think its because the emission requirements is different in a marine environment as there is no danger of carcinogenic particles getting inhaled to the lungs from air because of the wet exhaust that mixes the exhaust gasses with seawater. I think the M1KZ modification of the 1 KZ - TE is much more expensive than the normal 1KZ-TE.
They are all very reliable diesels, the toyota just has the advantage of worldwide availability of parts. Not every country has a Deere or Cummins distributor network but Toyota is found in even the most remote corners of the earth as it is the same engine in Landcruisers, Hilux, pickups and Hiace. ;-)

Are there any part numbers on the injection pump ? I'm wondering what injection pump they run to get it up to 200hp

Turn it over. I'm not sure a Toyota diesel is better than a Deere or Cummins. 😊. It looks nice and blue!

Transmission is ZF Hurth model 45A, gear ratio 2.43 : 1
With a trolling gear installed.
