@@darth_meme_lord2980I lived what you’re dreaming. And it was completely f@cking amazing! 😱🤩 I was listening and loving the various Grunge bands in the late late 80’s early 90’s as a teenager/young adult. The music still means just as much to me (and my musician husband) as it did back then. I think it’s killer that kids in high school and even younger love it too! One of my sons plays in a rock band as well and both of my kids are extremely passionate about music, even their “parents’ music”. I’m ecstatic to have lived during such an incredible time of creativity in music and art and so happy to collectively share it with every generation since the days that we Gen X’ers once ruled the world. Make sure if you haven’t yet to check out the band Killing Joke and specifically listen to the song “ Eighties” which is where Kurt ummm *borrowed* Come As You Are”. You will hear it immediately 😂 Stay Gold Ponyboy! 🙌🎸🙌

As a 40 year old who played in tons of bands at that age, the kids on stage are doing exactly what they should…which is whatever they want. Pick people up or let them out of the pit are the only rules. It’s a release not a test. So funny to see how much gen x music resonates with gen z.

Was waiting to cringe when he started singing and was blown away instead. He nailed it. So many people try to do it in their own voice and it doesn't work. You have to sing it like Kurt with his growl and snarl. That's the biggest part of what made the song so good. He sounded like an angry wolverine and it was shocking because it worked with thrash punk. If you slow the song down and play it "pretty", then yeah you can sing it with a normal voice. But if you play it hard, gotta snarl it.

I can't stand when a guitarist is playing clean guitar in a band, and I can pick out every instrument except the guitar. Why are they even there? I'm talking about bands on talk shows, for instance.

This was the first high school band I’ve seen on RUclips that isn’t pure cringe. Nirvana covers are always a bit cringe but if you’re gunna cover them then a high school show is the ideal place to do it 😂

This gives me chills, I like to imagine this is the same energy Kurt and co channeled into that music video. That high schoolers channel this internal rage into this fantastic song. I hope the audience this would be to witness at that point in their life. Love seeing good covers of Nirvana. The kids jumping on stage resembled a lot like Nirvana's live performances.

Glad to see the younger generations loving this band and song as I did at their age. This song literally altered my life and changed me as a person. As stupid as that sounds but its true. I used to be into rap. Too Short, NWA, DJ Quick and then I heard this song played and was like.....whoa. From there I grew my hair long, colored it pink and started playing guitar and never looked back. This song still gives me chills in the right circumstance and reminds me of a lot of awesome youthful memories. Keep on waking up and rocking out after breakfast man.

They always remind us of what it's like to really live. Hats off to these extremely talented musicians. How lucky the kids at this prom were to have such an amazing band! That’s gonna be a memory that’ll stick with you for the rest of your life. It’s times like these that make life so precious. I remember my last high school prom where I was invited to sing in front of the entire dance, and through the entire song everyone supported me. I’m glad to see so many other people experience this. I hope everyone reading this has an awesome day, take care.

What a great time, congratulations guys. Keep. it. Going. We NEED you guys. When I was 16, I was already playing shows all over the area, sometimes like 4-5 hours away, I played the orbit room in Grand Rapids at 17 (blink 182 played there a few years earlier, its THAT type of venue) and my school would NEVER let my band do literally anything for the school. No dances, not even battle of the bands. The fact your school let you do that is SOOOO AWESOME. Keep it up dudes, and start writing your own stuff so you have a nice 4-6 song set list with some covers like this one sprinkled in, and you can take over your local music scene. It literally just takes someone saying "this is what I'm doing" and start calling around to local venues. Welcome to THE life, I wish ya'll many successes!
