As a 40yr plus musician, I'll say it takes guts to do this tune, especially in front of a crowd, well done dudes, 2 thumbs up
I'm a 16 year old boy who just lost my grandma, this was her favourite song and the day before she died I called her and played this song while singing it on piano. A week later I'm doing it in her funeral, worst and best day of my life since I've never actually completed the song without failing p, this time i didn't fail. I know she's up there and smiling at me, proud.
@@yoheihalla1370 Great work being able to play it!
My Condolences for your loss.
Agreed
A tough one for sure. Well done guys.
Me and my friends played it on our spring concert
Queen themselves didn’t even attempt the middle part live. They used a recording and jumped back in at the heavy part. Well done guys.
Because it's absolutely impossible to do it live (as it sounds on the recording). But this was really not bad.
@@PeterAngelov look up Marc Martel😉
I love queen but I never understood why they got hung up on making it sound exactly like the studio. I admire these kids for taking a good stab at getting that opera bit in there. Well done!
wdym its not that hard
@Jajco as someone who can't sing, you have a woefully shallow take there bud
The bass guitarist looks like someone from the 70s
Lmao fr
Looks like the first bassist of queen (smile)
Looks like Nick O'malley from Arctic Monkeys xD
well, they all dressed up like Queen, didn't they?
You should see what I looked like in the 70's. Trust me, he probably gets more girls than I did. And I paid good money!
The way they are dressed as the band, I love it
Yes
even their hair matches
Lead guy is really good. I like how he played around with the melody instead of forcing himself to reach notes that he really can't sustain. Freddie himself did this a lot on stage.
Vocalist is killing it.
Calling it now..
Sup
P
P
Yep.
He did just kill a man afterall.
Not a bad attempt. And honestly, just ATTEMPTING this song gets major respect.
Sounds awesome imo
Yea cause it is the greatest song of all time not matter what
@@randomstuff9053 November rain better imo
Yes, I kinda feel they contain their voices or can't get any higher
Not really bad cover
just a reminder that these kids were SIXTEEN... thats massive talent
"Ok, next up is the freshman girls doing tiktok dances!"
pls this is so accurate
XD 110% accurate.
true but i'm a girl
"Next up is an assortment of Fortnite dances by the SPED class"
Next is the emo kid singing duality by slipknot
Speaking from experience, playing this song's piano accompaniment while standing is no easy task, especially during a performance. Massive props
I don't know much about music but I do know that I love to see all positive responses thank you everyone who responded
i think it's easy
@@Konieczkooo same I play keyboard in my band
Its easy bruv???
As a keyboardist in a band i can say its pretty easy
It takes some guts to even a attempt a song like this-lots of tricky falsetto bits and some serious pop culture presence. And then everyone absolutely nailed it. Great work!
imagine be the next to present 💀
That would've been embarrassing 💀
and THAT is why they save the best for last 😁😁
Respect for him adjusting the song to his voice instead of trying to hit a note that he can’t hold out well.
Wow, he hit that high B flat. Awesome.
Charlie puth?
@@harryputh5900lmfao
I think it was the bassist hitting the high notes
it was good but imagine how amazing it would be if the mics were better. it wasn’t their fault tho they were perfect
Might have been the singer himself or the backtrack on the recording
I wish the singer was on the piano instead of guitar
The guitarist is a true rockstar.
Do you mean the one singing or the bassist?
The singer?
That kid was really shredding
hell yeah
This is a BOLD song to perform as teenagers… or as anyone… ridiculously difficult in every way. Good shit, kids
MAD respect for this. Is it perfectly executed? No. Is it an INSANELY hard song to even attempt? Yes. I know professional musicians that would never even attempt to do this live let alone with a 4 piece in high school. This is like summiting K2 in front of your peers when you're like 17. It's THAT scary. 11/10 Hell yes!
I was already blown away and then... he had the gong... he had the gong!!! Holy crap well done gentlemen. There are major musicians who would not attempt this. It's one of the most challenging songs in rock!
My exact same thought, "HE HAD THE GONG!!!!"
If you hit that super high note in any song it is game over
The Queen members didn't make an effort to perform the middle section live, opting instead to rely on a pre-recorded version before resuming at the heavier segment. Great job, everyone.
can we pay a bit of homage to that drummer? this is awesome
Even with the Beer cans
Nobody noticed the lead singer was dressed as Freddie !
Malek
the guitar and the drums sound so good together oh my god 😭😭😭
Incredible job guys. Even Queen didn’t do the entire song live. Very impressive.
I was quite impressed!
Loved the singer's nod to Freddie's iconic Live-Aid look
Totally impressed, and I've played for over 40 years. So glad you guys won! I wasn't expecting this to be this good.
your solo was on point! good job your going somewhere in life:)
I’m not 😥

You guys get an A+ just for attempting to do one of the most difficult covers there is, and you pulled it off!! Bravo!!
Guy looks well rounded, nice physique, great singing and guitar and seems disciplined. I hope I'll be like him till I reach his age.
Guys as an established musician and an avid Queen fan, you are the first band ANYWHERE I've seen to pull off the operatic section of BR live! VERY GOOD COVER! Congrats
Bro the drummer killed it respect bro
When I was a senior in high school my band played this song
I'm so happy there isn't a video of that.
These kids should.be happy that there is. They kicked ass.
This was not a terrible try, and to be frank, even making an attempt to perform this song deserves significant admiration.
idk if you've played any instruments before but especially at that age this was amazing. not close to terrible, 99.9999% of people cant even come close.
@@user-zv6vw4bs4p I'm uncertain about your prior musical endeavors, but particularly at such a young age, your performance was truly exceptional. It far exceeded any notion of inadequacy and surpassed the abilities of the overwhelming majority.
Attempting a song like this especially during a highschool talent show in front of all your peers takes guts! Good job fellas!
I really like the change in style he did with the solo, it really sounded incredible.
If this is Fairfield, Connecticut. This is the same High School that John Mayer attended. Fairfield’s producing some crazy talent.
Imma rank the each ones performance
1. Drummer
2.singer
3.the bass (he was dong those high notes
4. Pianist
FRRRRRR FOR THE BASS, LIKE IN THE SOLO PART HES DOING THOSE HIGH E 5
they all did great*
Been a bass player and session musician for 40 + years.... Guys this if f**king awesome! Such an iconic song and to do it live from start to finish, wow!! Well played and well done!! Outstanding!
As someone who has been playing for more than four decades, I must say I'm thoroughly impressed. Congratulations on your victory! I wasn't anticipating it to be this outstanding.
at least delete your videos first bro hahahah
I don’t think people realize how hard this song is to cover & these boys absolutely killed it!
I have so much respect for these guys because this song is certainly not easy. The instruments were fantastic and the singer did well. As a vocalist, I would say that the guy did well. He was a bit out of his range but like I already mentioned this song is difficult. The pitch got a bit rough on higher notes and less stable but that could be from nerves, we've all been there at one point. I'm impressed and these lads did a great job 👍❤
Freddie would be proud.
I've been playing drums for 40 years. This was VERY well done. Even Queen didn't do the middle part live. Out freaking standing gentlemen.
Dang props to the guy playing piano standing and singing the high parts at the same time this song is really hard to play on piano
The singer/guitarist is very impressive. Bravo.
I’m so glad he did it in his own style, that made it even better
They were outstanding. Was prepared to hear high school caliber whatever. They pulled that together beautifully. One huge clue to their accomplishment .. their classmates listened. They were not the typical congregation where immaturity usually shows up.
Great job, guys.
Great performance by the whole ensemble. Quality.
Lead singer is a whole unit damn
As a 65yr plus artist, I'll say it takes stomach to do this song, especially in the eyes of a audience, well done fellas, 1 thumb up
Don’t hate on them. If they had backtracks in their headpieces this would be on tempo
I really think if the sound recording were through the mixing desk instead of an audience recording, his voice would be shown to all here how very well he was singing it (and of the band!)
Top work!
The gong at the end stole everything 😭✨✨✨✨✨
AHHH WHERE ARE THEY NOW?!?!
Props to the pianist and everyone. The pianist really perfectly played it, and the guitar and drums too(bass also ofc), lovely performance 🎉🎉
He is that good with a lot of stage fright. He loosened a bit towards the end, but I was so impressed these young lads put it together.
Holy crap! This is one of the best performances of this song by pretty much any band. This is not at all an easy song to sing or play. You guys are amazingly talented, like super crazy talented. Keep up the awesome work!
I competed in many talent shows during my high school days, with a magic/illusion show. We were the first non-musical act to ever win the Mid-South Talent Fair (winners from several states). I'm just glad we didn't have to compete against this group. Amazing job guys, loved it !
Boys! This is quality. Definitely didn't have a band that could pull that off at 16. So sick!
As someone who was basically FORCED to hear this one seven times daily at an old job, I went from liking it to mildly despising it to ROYALLY HATING it. So even when I hear it in passing, I'm forced to calm the preponderance of bile in my stomach. HOWEVER, this one is well done. Dig the four-part harmonies. And the guitar playing is SOLID, especially the lead breaks. Brian May is smiling.
How dare u
Yes! They even hit the gong at the end!
Very well done, a few pitch issues, but musically this was an awesome attempt at this very difficult song. Congrats on the win, you earned it. Clearly you all practiced this countless times.
The ending was spot on
Everyone killed it!! Especially the vocalists that hit the high notes!! I'm literally impressed. This definitely has to made it to the students' topic of conversation every year when there's a talent show at that school
Out of all the things I've seen
best High School Talent Show
Doing the opera part is really really challenging, good job
I to am a musician for 40 years and also won two places in the same talent show in my senior year with dust in the wind for 1st and stairway to heaven for 3rd back in 1978. So I know exactly what it feels to win this as a kid. These guys pulled off a very hard song to do and did an amazing job doing it. This brought tears to my eyes and brought back memories. Way to go guys!!!!!!!!
Having the confidence to do such a song, and pulling it off quite respectably. Bravo
Impressive. Hard song to sing and they did it as perfect as could be done.
Nice job. I think these guys did a good job of capturing the spirit of the piece.
It requires a certain level of courage to even consider performing a song with challenging falsetto parts and significant cultural significance. But then, everyone executed it flawlessly. Well done on a fantastic job!
I think that was the best i ever seen from the singer with the opera take to rock iam amazed on how he ranged it. The band great . I would love to see it in a studio
Shredded while doing some shredding.
Bro this actually might be the best cover of bohemian rhapsody I love how they don’t stick just to the vocals from the original cover but add a little bit of their own style to it
Why couldn't kids be this cool when I was in HS!
Huge respect this song is probably one of the hardest to play live and u guys pulled it off ❤
One of the best rock songs ever, and one of the most difficult. Those young people nailed it!!!
Good harmonizing & musicianship
Bravo! They did well. It’s a very hard song and almost impossible to imitate Freddie Mercurys voice considering his range.
ive been a musician for a little over 5 years and i can say this is just amazing the singers voice is amazing and i can just say the middle part is my favorite and i aploud them for making the cover so good
Took me back to high school days. Hands up to you all!
Great reviews here. With a mixing desk and some other theatrics. Boom, this would go viral. Given the setting, it was on point. Impressive discipline to play together and fairly tight. The drummer worked hard and was focussed. This band is an example to others.
Great performance!!!
Can’t believe this happened in my school
shut up
hmmmmm
@Eva ok dream fan
If that were any of my kids, I'd be so proud of them.
DAMN, I got chills, great cover!
Random vids are usually not worth clicking on. Especially when I'm watching something amusing. Every once in a while I'll take a peek and usually exit within seconds, but this video caught my attention right away. And I can honestly say that they were pretty dam good. Each one of them did a great job! I hope I will see more vids of them and possibly other talented students. Good job guys!
the best Queen's cover i've ever Heard🤟🎸
Bravo!! What a difficult song to cover! You guys did it!! What a great performance, gentlemen!! 👏
As soon as I saw how the singer was dressed, I knew it would be great! :)
I love that this song has a compulsary costume.
All I can think of when I hear you guys playing is Panic! At The Disco version of the song haha, great job!
haha i can't unhear it
Wonderful! Proud of these young people and their teachers.Deed gratitude to all for your courage, hard work and determination. Enjoyed very much. Thanks!
the gong at the end was awesome. totally unexpected. other than queen themselves this is the best performance of this song I've ever seen
This school is so lucky, they get a live concert right in front of them for free
bro 0:33 the whistle
Great job everyone! Standing ovation from me! 👍
The gong at the end is what did it for me. ❤
