There are many manufacturing companies in the Island, who are mainly relatively High Tech. And remember that Strix who are the world leader on kettle thermostats are still headquartered on the Island. I remember finding special valves made by Kenmac fitted all over the Mossgas plant in South Africa. Now part of Swagelok which is the world leader on instrument piping etc.
Much more important than gaming which could be killed overnight by legislation in other countries.

The IOM could really expand the Tourism side away the Motorcycle Racing few weeks, Trying to book a cottage and a Steam Racket crossing is incredibly difficult the Steam Racket have nothing available online past May2024 its absolute insanity.

Have never been to the IOM and i live relatively close in Dublin .If Ryanair were to include it ,i would go .Otherwise its too expensive to get to .
aer lingus used to have regular flights from dublin to iom

I am looking at relocating there and wanted to find out if I could pick your brain a bit. I currently work for an e-gaming company. I work as a Senior Cloud Engineer. I also have extensive experience as a network engineer and I have written a few full stack apps. I can share my linkedin profile if required.
The island needs to crack down on immigration, English language tests should be compulsory. Otherwise we end up with King Gaming saga. What are you thoughts on King Gaming?
My thoughts are King had nothing to do with the English language and we need immigration or we won’t have an economy.
Whats the job industry like for a builder, some who can bricklay, plastering skim and lime, carpentry, diy, tiling and landscaping?

How much savings do you require to move to the island if you are not working?would you still receive the UK old age pension when you quality?
If you are a Manx resident you will receive your full pension from the Manx government. It is apparently a special arrangement where funds are transferred to the IOM.
I left the island in 79 average wage was £45.00 a week , being Manx never needed a work permit, All the Weni's in Tynwald aught to piss off back to where ever they come from and leave the island alone.messing about with other peoples lives to the detriment of the island.

So gambling companies from all over the world are licensed by the Isle of Man. How do Manx authorities supervise the companies they license? Do you send examiners overseas or is everything done remotely?
Key staff, operations and records must be on island and are audited on a regular basis.

I honestly believe the employment of those who are on lower wages is lacking.Unemployment also not really well measured due to the long term ones.The drug culture is also horrendous across the board.

Yep, when you fall sick there is no more income as a foreign worker. 2 weeks sick leave means half your salary gone for that month. And I think that’s a good thing.

@@icetealover1158How long is a piece of string, really. All depends on your desired lifestyle but for the bascis, around £1000 rent, £500 bills a month I'd say (electric, gas, phone).
