You did nothing wrong. I’m saying this as a package handler for FedEx it is their job and how they treated you as a customer was not appropriate. I get it’s a stressful time for all of us in the shipping and delivery department but that doesn’t mean it’s an excuse to take it out on other people or customers. If they can’t handle it then maybe they shouldn’t be working that job.
As a FedEx driver too, I can relate to it being hectic but being uncomfortable to drop off packages is not cool. This is how we get paid and the front employees are the face of the company so they should be at least civil lol. But yeah, this time of year is 12-16 hour days, delivering packages and yes, you have disgruntled customers but on average I would have to say most people are very happy to see the FedEx driver pull up.
I had beef with our local post office once… when I was asked to bring up my concerns with the post master she took me into her office and LOCKED THE DOOR and berated me for about 10 mins while I was yelled at for her drivers leaving my packages in the rain. Needless to say there was a complaint filed and she was not at our post office for much longer.

If it were me, I’d bring MORE boxes in at a time, because how dare you complain about the job you’re getting paid to do? The stimulus checks here in the US I think is what made these people entitled (Saying it as a 25 "millennial"). I enjoy working, doesn't matter what it is or the pay if it's reasonable. My first job after the shutdowns started to lighten up was fast food at KFC and OMG you would think people coming in to order were twisting the arms of the staff. One guy thought he was going to get AM position and he and one other guy were the WORST candidate... all of that crew except me were basically driven out by a GM who was asked to return to help with the store and I appreciate her work attitude a lot.
100% agree!! Some customers make your work much worse but the main problem is also understaffing OR people with that mindset that dont want to / dont do their work which leaves more work to the people who are willing to do their job properly. The only other thing I would say is that I didnt feel like I got paid enough for doing my job properly and it sucks to know ppl are getting paid the same or more for less effort / less than the bare minimum. But despite all this I know I'm there to do a job and the good customers don't deserve attitude even when you're having a bad day or the real problem is management
The ladies at the post office will have your photo on a poster behind the till, like a wanted poster, “watch out for this person who dares makes us work!” 😂😂

Have you considered doing coloring books with all your artwork? I think those would sell really well and packing them would probably be easy if you can customize the size of the book to fit the boxes you use.
I would absolutely die if she did a bun bun coloring book. I love the party bun printable that she did and we used them for my daughter's birthday party as the activity. Everyone kept commenting on how cute the coloring page was.
Sucks they made you feel that way. I feel for them but they should not make a customer feel regretful for providing them business. They are hired to work. Can't get mad at that.
That is so annoying, no matter how moody I am, due to needing to work with chronic pain, I stop everything and make sure people have what they need. There really are no bad customers just the Karens becoming increasingly more of an issue. I am sorry they are bad at their job but should the anxiety fade, cause I understand that too. Just know you did nothing wrong and as you get more comfortable you can do your drop offs without shame, really.

Believe me, it’s not just your post office. Mine likes to send things back, and not put things in the right boxes. Also, when I go to the counter they give you a hard time because they have to look for the packages. I’m a little afraid that I may have the same trouble when I start selling prints. My mom and I had to deal with a rude post office lady here in the states when we used to sell things online. Many people complained about her and the manager told us there was nothing they could do 'cause they couldn't fire her, she ended up getting moved to somewhere in the back so she didn't have to interact with the customers 😂
As someone whos been a CP lady you can always call ahead of time and ask them if you can bring in a part drop off of parcels and mention you have a manifest. Also when you drop them off let them know you have a manifest. Alot of people don't know how to make one so thay probably didn't know. Also if you drop them off on a sunday it's a lot nicer so you don't have to limbo through stacks of pkgs all weekend. Also many not over christmass because things are nuts.
I'm fairly certain they were aware of how the manifest worked because they started counting the packages right away. I also handed it to them on the counter and they grabbed it.
I used to manage a Pharmasave with a Canada Post outlet in it and the people working in the retail outlets aren't Canada Post employees - they're Shoppers or PS employees making at or just above minimum wage and the sheer ABUSE they get thrown at them every day is utterly shocking. People assume they're union employees making Canada Post wages and feel that gives them the right to be horrendous to them. Some of them get very jaded lol. That doesn't excuse how she spoke to you at all but, they do get the worst of humanity chucked at them every day - especially this time of year and I"m willing to bet tears get shed every day in their back room! And yep, they have to scan all those parcels in before they're picked up by a CP employee. Our bigger commercial customers would call ahead and ask when it would be a good time to drop off and we'd either make sure we had an extra staff person on or they'd come in in the evening when it was much quieter. And yes, if you have a PO Box, you become one of the family :)

I think I used to have some as a kid, and your videos about them always made me smile. I had been putting off buying more, but the other day I found that big house you have at the Goodwill for $3.99! So of course I bought it, and now I have to fill it with stuff, right? Your nieces are going to love their gifts! I got my niblings books this year.

Do Canada Post even pick up from the post offices on weekends? I know POs here are open on Saturday for people who work and need to drop things off etc. but bringing them in on a Saturday is no different movement wise to bringing them in Monday because they just sit there until Mondays pickup. So you'd honestly be better off just getting a pickup for Monday if it's like that in Canada. Still completely unprofessional for them to treat you like that though, I stopped going to a particular PO for the same reason though so I totally feel ya. 😅
I'm curious about this too... Once I dropped a light packet at the PO on a friday evening, and was surprised to see on tracking that it was sent to the airport on saturday morn and was out of the country that night. But then, if I receive notice of delivery on a friday, they leave all the mail in their truck there all weekend so no one can pick anything up LOL.
Ive had the most amazing experience with one post office but every other one I go to it's been horrible I think either a lot of workers are not trained for more than 2-3 packages at a time or are just way over stressed but idk but all you can do is be as kind as possible

I LOATHE going to the U.S. Post Office. In all my years, I've experienced 4 maybe 5 post office employees who were actually helpful. The rest... they know there is no accountability! Sure you can ask to speak to their supervisor, but what's going to happen? They aren't going to get fired.
I've noticed that post office workers get mad at people who have lots of packages and can't do pick ups for whatever reason. One time (I live in Italy btw) the post office guy REFUSED to send my packages because he was "closing up" (it still had 15 minutes to go until closing hours). It's not absolutely our or your fault for this, it's their job to process mail... I respect them for that. But I refuse to be mistreated by them just because they don't like their work or there is a lot to do?? 😭
Some of the PO locations in the city have such rude staff :( I miss the one we used to live near, the staff was super friendly and loved it when I brought my toddler in to pick up packages. The one near us now is.... not great. I had a package to send (if squished even a the tiniest bit would have EASILY fit lettermail) and they were so rude saying "has to go tracked, it won't fit in a mailbox" *tries to put it in their example of mailslot while crumpling up the package* .... if I ball up a relatively flat poly mailer of course is won't fit 🙄 no wonder she was behind a counter and not physically delivering the mail. Meanwhile I had a box shoved in my mailslot that was the EXACT dimensions of the mailslot. I had to open the box and remove all contents while standing there and just leave the box behind because it was stuck, but yes lady... poly mailer is "too big". Edit to add: my daughter is 3½ and she already wants all the big sets of Calico Critters 🤣 lawd help us and our wallets. She was BEGGING us for the Adventure Treehouse she saw while we were in Mastermind Toys, plan was to take pics with toys to "send to Santa"🎅 which we did, it just ended with her STILL being sad about not leaving with the treehouse 🤦♀️
Why are post office ladies always so rude 😭When I first opened my art biz I'd bring in maybe a dozen or less packages and EVERY TIME the 3 different ladies treated me like I was THE biggest and rudest inconvenience of their life just bc I had more than a couple parcels 💀💔

I can clarify your CPC situation. The workers at the CPC counter in Shoppers Drug Mart aren’t Canada Post employees. They don’t have the same level of training as the CPC unionized employees do. The reason they were annoyed with your drop off is because when you drop off parcels on the weekend, they are held there in the small back room a Shoppers may have until their letter carrier/mail service courier clears the retail postal outlet on Monday. I don’t agree with how you were treated, it’s very disrespectful, especially since you are paying top dollar for their services. I recommend, if you’re able to, keeping your scheduled pickups to during the week only.
I would put in a complaint to the office in question. The lack of quality customer service and respect is unacceptable. You should never feel mortified to bring your packages and mail to the POST OFFICE. Ludicrous.
I work with the usps stateside and we found out using the manifest doesn't scan a lot of the packages so we would hand scan each one. The customers told us it was not working so that's why we do it that way now. If u have to go through all that talk to the postmaster or boss of these ladies or go to another post office. All the packages u bring into YOUR post office is good for that po 😊 we get extra money at the end of the year. So don't be afraid of the old bags be assertive or talk to their boss.

Omg. I'm in customer service with large tractor company and I Do not take it out on customers when I'm frustrated with all the requests they ask.ITS MY JOB. If they don't like it GET OUT there are other people who are nice who would love to have a job. They should not make you feel guilty what so ever. Walk in there with your head held high. Stand you're ground!!!!
I understand that it makes you uncomfortable to be confronted that way BUT, and I hope you take this to heart, THEIR inefficiencies ARE NOT your fault. If you were instructed that they can just scan the manifest and check that the amount of packages receive match, then it is NOT your fault that they didn't follow THEIR OWN process and made more work for themselves. If it had been me their attitude would have been reported as well as the mishandling of the packages. Them throwing the packages was extremely unprofessional and if anything there was breakable they would be liable for the damages. Sorry for the rant but it has always bothered me that they treat you like you're an inconvenience when you're business pays their wages.

You should definitely check out Sarah J Maas' other series next (I suggest Throne of Glass next)! The next book she's publishing is the third of her Crescent City series, but afterwards she'll publish another ACOTAR book

I was the same when I started reading ACOTAR! I highly recommended her other series A Throne of Glass and Crescent City. Both are just as good. But read Crescent City when you are done A Court of Silver Flames!

You would think that the PO would be grateful for you doing it that way. The more that go though the shop the higher n the list they are for use and if and when closer happen they less likely to be closed for under use. Its a Pain yes but its business like yours keeping them open. The pick up are part why they are getting closed down as the shops dont have them on recored to count towards uses. My PO is really really small its part a shop here so room is very very limited but they love it when big order come in becuase it counts towards helpping them.

Without our customers bringing us items to deliver we would have no job, so I just want to thank you for using Canada Post because that way I can keep my job :)

You should read throne of glass too, the first two books are good but it gets really good at book 3, I also highly recommend Crescent City, I actually prefer both of those series over ACOTAR (likely because I read TOG first), I still have to read ACOSF, I have it, just haven't started it yet

I've been watching thrifting videos on youtube and they've made me want to start collecting shakers because there are some that are soooo cute out there. I've also been wanting a french butter bell for a long time but can't justify it because i don't use butter that often.

If people can't do their jobs that's their problem Baylee and maybe they need to find another one. Keep your schedule, they'll live.
Do Canada Post even pick up from the post offices on weekends? I know POs here are open on Saturday for people who work and need to drop things off etc. but bringing them in on a Saturday is no different movement wise to bringing them in Monday because they just sit there until Mondays pickup. So you'd honestly be better off just getting a pickup for Monday if it's like that in Canada. Still completely unprofessional for them to treat you like that though, I stopped going to a particular PO for the same reason though so I totally feel ya. 😅
I'm curious about this too... Once I dropped a light packet at the PO on a friday evening, and was surprised to see on tracking that it was sent to the airport on saturday morn and was out of the country that night. But then, if I receive notice of delivery on a friday, they leave all the mail in their truck there all weekend so no one can pick anything up LOL.

Ive had the most amazing experience with one post office but every other one I go to it's been horrible I think either a lot of workers are not trained for more than 2-3 packages at a time or are just way over stressed but idk but all you can do is be as kind as possible

I LOATHE going to the U.S. Post Office. In all my years, I've experienced 4 maybe 5 post office employees who were actually helpful. The rest... they know there is no accountability! Sure you can ask to speak to their supervisor, but what's going to happen? They aren't going to get fired.
I've noticed that post office workers get mad at people who have lots of packages and can't do pick ups for whatever reason. One time (I live in Italy btw) the post office guy REFUSED to send my packages because he was "closing up" (it still had 15 minutes to go until closing hours).
It's not absolutely our or your fault for this, it's their job to process mail... I respect them for that. But I refuse to be mistreated by them just because they don't like their work or there is a lot to do?? 😭
Some of the PO locations in the city have such rude staff :( I miss the one we used to live near, the staff was super friendly and loved it when I brought my toddler in to pick up packages. The one near us now is.... not great. I had a package to send (if squished even a the tiniest bit would have EASILY fit lettermail) and they were so rude saying "has to go tracked, it won't fit in a mailbox" *tries to put it in their example of mailslot while crumpling up the package* .... if I ball up a relatively flat poly mailer of course is won't fit 🙄 no wonder she was behind a counter and not physically delivering the mail.
Meanwhile I had a box shoved in my mailslot that was the EXACT dimensions of the mailslot. I had to open the box and remove all contents while standing there and just leave the box behind because it was stuck, but yes lady... poly mailer is "too big".
Edit to add: my daughter is 3½ and she already wants all the big sets of Calico Critters 🤣 lawd help us and our wallets. She was BEGGING us for the Adventure Treehouse she saw while we were in Mastermind Toys, plan was to take pics with toys to "send to Santa"🎅 which we did, it just ended with her STILL being sad about not leaving with the treehouse 🤦♀️

Why are post office ladies always so rude 😭When I first opened my art biz I'd bring in maybe a dozen or less packages and EVERY TIME the 3 different ladies treated me like I was THE biggest and rudest inconvenience of their life just bc I had more than a couple parcels 💀💔
I don't know if it's the same in Canada but in America we have a post master you can call and talk to because those interactions were REALLY bad and it shouldnt be how they talk to their customers 😔

I can clarify your CPC situation.
The workers at the CPC counter in Shoppers Drug Mart aren’t Canada Post employees. They don’t have the same level of training as the CPC unionized employees do.
The reason they were annoyed with your drop off is because when you drop off parcels on the weekend, they are held there in the small back room a Shoppers may have until their letter carrier/mail service courier clears the retail postal outlet on Monday.
I don’t agree with how you were treated, it’s very disrespectful, especially since you are paying top dollar for their services.
I recommend, if you’re able to, keeping your scheduled pickups to during the week only.

I would put in a complaint to the office in question. The lack of quality customer service and respect is unacceptable. You should never feel mortified to bring your packages and mail to the POST OFFICE. Ludicrous.

I work with the usps stateside and we found out using the manifest doesn't scan a lot of the packages so we would hand scan each one. The customers told us it was not working so that's why we do it that way now. If u have to go through all that talk to the postmaster or boss of these ladies or go to another post office. All the packages u bring into YOUR post office is good for that po 😊 we get extra money at the end of the year. So don't be afraid of the old bags be assertive or talk to their boss.

Omg. I'm in customer service with large tractor company and I Do not take it out on customers when I'm frustrated with all the requests they ask.ITS MY JOB. If they don't like it GET OUT there are other people who are nice who would love to have a job. They should not make you feel guilty what so ever. Walk in there with your head held high. Stand you're ground!!!!
I understand that it makes you uncomfortable to be confronted that way BUT, and I hope you take this to heart, THEIR inefficiencies ARE NOT your fault. If you were instructed that they can just scan the manifest and check that the amount of packages receive match, then it is NOT your fault that they didn't follow THEIR OWN process and made more work for themselves. If it had been me their attitude would have been reported as well as the mishandling of the packages. Them throwing the packages was extremely unprofessional and if anything there was breakable they would be liable for the damages.
Sorry for the rant but it has always bothered me that they treat you like you're an inconvenience when you're business pays their wages.

I came back to this video because I read the book series you talked about! And after reading book 2 (ACOMAF) the song 'Play Pretend' by Alex Sampson kept ringing throughout my head ahhh I'll be sad when I finish the rest of the series 😭

I'm honestly SO HAPPY you liked ACOTAR!! I read them when they were coming out, and waiting for the sequels was PAINFUL! You should definitely check out Sarah J Maas' other series next (I suggest Throne of Glass next)! The next book she's publishing is the third of her Crescent City series, but afterwards she'll publish another ACOTAR book

I was the same when I started reading ACOTAR! I highly recommended her other series A Throne of Glass and Crescent City. Both are just as good. But read Crescent City when you are done A Court of Silver Flames!

Okay, but I had to laugh a little at your mom ordering what you were originally gonna add to the stocking.
You would think that the PO would be grateful for you doing it that way. The more that go though the shop the higher n the list they are for use and if and when closer happen they less likely to be closed for under use. Its a Pain yes but its business like yours keeping them open. The pick up are part why they are getting closed down as the shops dont have them on recored to count towards uses. My PO is really really small its part a shop here so room is very very limited but they love it when big order come in becuase it counts towards helpping them.
I work for Canada Post, and I am sorry you had that experience. Just so you know, the people who work at the Canada Post counter within Shoppers Drug Mart are not Canada Post employees. They are employed by Shoppers Drug Mart and only authorized to handle that counter. In no way does that excuse their behaviour, but I just wanted you to know that they are not Canada Post employees. Without our customers bringing us items to deliver we would have no job, so I just want to thank you for using Canada Post because that way I can keep my job :)

You absolutely do not need to be embarrassed or feel like you were in the wrong at ALL. That is their JOB. If they didnt want to do it, they can go do something else. If you dont want to process packages, dont work at the post office??? would you be doing art if you hated drawing?
You should read throne of glass too, the first two books are good but it gets really good at book 3, I also highly recommend Crescent City, I actually prefer both of those series over ACOTAR (likely because I read TOG first), I still have to read ACOSF, I have it, just haven't started it yet
