I just bought a new 2024 Tradesman with the Pentastar V6 a couple months ago. Got it for $37k with the tow package, chrome package, 8” screen, side rails, and a lifetime powertrain warranty. I get about 26 mpg on the highway. Absolutely love the truck.
@ it has plenty of power for my use. I don’t need to tow anything heavy. It’s very comfortable, great ride, and plenty quiet for me. I can’t really compare to the higher trims, though, since I didn’t drive any of them. The seats are more comfortable than my buddy’s ‘24 Silverado.

I agree “TRADESMAN” all the way what is infuriating a Tradesman the “MULTI-FUNCTION” tailgate isn’t available as a “STAND-ALONE” option… I would be happy to pay the additional “$1,000” for a Multifunction tailgate on a Tradesman,
I just got a 2025 Ram 1500 Tradesman 4x2 for $36k after rebates. I love it and recommend it as a daily driver if you like simplicity with newer tech. The 3.6L is all i need. Saving on gas coming from a 2018 Tundra.
If my job didn’t require me to have a 3/4 ton truck, I’d seriously consider buying one for myself and that mileage is outstanding! That’s a pretty good looking truck for even $50k and will probably come with cash on the hood and if you walk out the door paying only a tad bit more than $40k, you got a good truck and deal
I have a 2020 Bighorn 5.7 that I got for 42k with 15,000 miles on it. I have to say its a great truck, added bonus of heated seats and steering wheel with parking sensors.
Just got 25 1500 Laramie loaded and I love this truck. The I-6 is amazing block. Smooth as hell and so comfortable. At times, in 8th gear, I feel as I am driving an EV truck, I swear. I don't need Hemi anymore. I don't care that she sounds like an SUV.
RAM Tradesman with 3.6 Pentastar and e-torque engine; reliable, versatile and excellent MPG. Thank's by to share yours videos! BIG HUG from CDMX; México.
I actually have a 2019 rebel with a v6 pentastar and although it can't tow a massive amount, I don't really tow trailers but the payload is not bad either. It is a wonderful engine, as said it is reliable, quiet and in my opinion smooth. Probably puts out the same power as the magnum V8 I came from
2021ram1500 classic tradesman quad cab 4x4 v6 with lots of extras great simple truck 🛻👍 i ordered mine in 2021 tows my fishing boat fine 🎣🚢👍 no problems so far
I have a 2006 Dakota over 100k still running good my only complaint is tow capacity so I’m done with regular v6 ready for something better. But great video and nice truck
The 3.6 Pentastar is a good engine. Its been around long enough to fix the few minor problems with it. Promaster channel talks about them and has examples of plenty of them going well over 500K. I would rather have that engine, than something new with a buch of crap on it because.
@ I think it has more to do with keeping them clean under certain conditions. I know I have heard complaints about mud/dust/dirt getting in there and it's difficult to clean with no cap. It's just another example of "fixing" something that didn't need to be fixed.
I had that's same engine in a 2022 it was a knight mare it's a junk even the dealership had told me so Thay have motelbul problems e tork not good so I just got a new ram sst and I'm waiting on the lemon law for my 22 ram
ram need new engine 3.6l pentastar is old!!! the power it has doesn't enough, eah ford haw less power V6 but its 3.3l and F-150 lighter! I expect new gen pentastar V6 mb 3.9L naturali aspirated engine with 305-310 hp and 280-290 lbd!
NO, a solid, time tested BASE ENGINE that is reliable and PREDICTABLE is exactly what a BASE TRUCK needs. Stop thinking everything has to be brand new or it's trash. How many Hurricanes have you purchased? New all the time needs to keeps it's asss in the phone world and let PROVEN RELIABILITY rule the day with basic work trucks. Go buy a new iphone ffs.
@@BamaTidefan1967 It's not a new engine, that is a fact. Do you find the V6 sufficiently powerful? How is it compared to the higher trims in terms of quietness, vibration?

I've got a 2019 classic with the 3,6.....not a problem, plenty of power, wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

If you can get that truck for less.than $40k,.that is a deal.
You can. Dealers are marking down big time. Saw one last week, same trim level for 38k. Bought a brand new big horn night edition for 45k
I just bought one of the last 2024s a couple months ago for $37k. Deals are out there.
I have a 2014 RAM 1500 SLT with the Pentastar V6 which I bought brand new 11 years ago. It has just under 140K miles on it and still going strong.
I’ve owed Two Pentastar V6’s and they are fantastic!
Agreed!! Ive owned two on them on Jeep Gladiator and Two on Wranglers.

my RAM 3:55 gears and the Pentastar is a great truck. Does everything I have asked of it.
Never getting a V6 or I6 full size truck until I turn in my man card at age 80. Love my Hemi V8 and I’m on my 5th Ram with that engine.
Good going solo, Craig! Did a great job!!!

If you gave me one , I would put a “ for sale “ sign on it … been screwed over by Dodge for the last time ,many years ago .

I dont mind the 3.6. But damn that price though.

Get rid of that plastic oil filter housing adapter assembly, and you have a fantastik little engine. Good power and great mileage!
Good one. In Colorado just come with the turbo engine
2021ram1500 classic tradesman quad cab 4x4 v6 with lots of extras great simple truck 🛻👍 i ordered mine in 2021 tows my fishing boat fine 🎣🚢👍 no problems so far
Sounds like a great truck, congrats!
@TexasTruckChannel thanks it's a nice simple truck 🛻👍
Did they fix the lifter tap when it gets a few miles on it?
yeah, about 12 years ago
I have a 2006 Dakota over 100k still running good my only complaint is tow capacity so I’m done with regular v6 ready for something better. But great video and nice truck
This Ram will tow a lot more than a 2006 Dakota! This will tow 7,000+ lbs
Does anyone know the towing capacity?
2 wheel drive makes it even cheaper. Great if you live in the south with no snow.

Many still prefer a gas cap, saving me two seconds is not a benefit.
I have a 2020Ram Rebel that has NO GAS CAP, and I love it! Never had ANY issues at all with this truck!!

Just wait till you need to do something simple like changing a headlight bulb

Didn't know reliable and Ram went together
They can have those V6 Nope if it's not a V8 don't want it!
I think the Pentastar is a great engine, but truck will be very underpowered if you want to tow anything.
Ome thing I lesrned in the video is "Brian's not here"
Ya the wild fires are not my problem in LA.
Most reliable ram. Quite the paradoxical statement.
No way would I buy any e torque or power boost just adds a whole lot of extra complexity and a 1500 dollar battery
Still to expensive
Tradesman for $55k is ridiculous. Ram needs to stop playing games👎🏻
First!
So??
You want wind? Come out here to California. 😢

Ram won’t last 100,000 miles. To expensive to fix.
Lease it / don’t buy it
I rather go with Chevy and Nissan.
Dude, you waste a lot of time getting lost in details. Get to the point! Engine, transmission, gear ratio?!?
Ya, who wants details right, derrrrrrr.
Ford ranger raptor should have been truck of the year Rams not even or shouldn't even be in the conversation.
WHAY???
Who wants to pay $60K for a Ranger Raptor?
